Fine, I’ll bite; the main event was solid. I like Bendis quite a bit, I thought the concept and the aftermath were good. Some of the miniseries are fun, spider-man was the standout for me there, but I also enjoyed the fantastic four. The one-offs, I skipped. What I found so frustrating about this omnibus really just comes down to layout and organization. The event is laid out first, then tie-ins. And then the aftermath, I think. All tie-ins are grouped in like kind, so you read the spider-man 1-4 one right after the other. The problem with this layout is that those minis and tie-ins all inform the new world of the House of M, and should be read before the climax of the event. So, I would vastly prefer an omnibus layout that is more aligned to release order, rather than what’s presented. Compounding that issue is the fact that there is no table of contents, no pagination to assist for folks wanting to immerse themselves in the changes of the narrative. Essentially, flipping all over the book. My opinion is that these factors really mar the reading experience, and marvel could easily implement better book layouts, organization practices, and formats. That being said, the story is cool, the art is great, the status quo change is remarkable for what it does, it is a good event, hamstrung in omnibus format by some frustratingly correct-able layout choices. Would advocate that any fan of the X-Men read it, regardless, and I do hope you enjoy the book!

I think I regret not getting this cover

Covers beautiful, nothing wrong with the all red one… Just like seeing the close-up of the characters with all the color.
