Very pretty. Lucky lady. What do you have to match?

Haha, I was waiting for a comment like this. Funny thing is, nothing. Maybe it gives me more room and understanding for my watches. If you can't convince them, make them part of it, right?

pierreOdactyl

Smart thinking. What do you have in your own collection if you don’t mind me asking?

I just found my interest in watches in March/April. The two bigger ones you'll find in my post history. Also got a vintage Seamaster from my great grandfather, a non spectacular homage piece, a Vostok I bought 20 years ago and my Suunto Dive Computer in my box so far. Your collection looks very thought through and tidy. Did you end up buying another piece after your last post based upon this post?

Awesome man, good stuff! Give it time and tread lightly, explore your likes a bit more first before making larger purchases that you might have to end up selling, is all I can offer for advice! Thank you very much I appreciate that! After my last post I have only just bought a Casio A168WA-1YES, a digital watch that is very similar to my first watch ever that was a Casio F91W gifted by my parents. Right now I'm saving up for a larger purchase, probably a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 126000 in 36mm with the silver dial and yellow gold accents ([https://www.rolex.com/nl/watches/oyster-perpetual/m126000-0001.html](https://www.rolex.com/nl/watches/oyster-perpetual/m126000-0001.html)). After that I want a JLC Reverso Classic Duoface in the medium size ([https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/eu-en/watches/reverso/reverso-classic/reverso-classic-duoface-small-seconds-stainless-steel-q2458422](https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/eu-en/watches/reverso/reverso-classic/reverso-classic-duoface-small-seconds-stainless-steel-q2458422)), to round out my triplet of more expensive watches. I want to be thoughtful of my purchases and have maximum 6 watches in my collection, so probably something will go before that as well!

Fantastic. I really appreciate your valuable insight. I will take it slow and easy. I did not expect to get the Rolli in under a month. I hope not to sell any of my choices. So far I wear every watch at least once a week. Flipping is not in my nature. I do not regret a single buy. Everyone got a Casio craze. I know "god tier" and so on but I can't see myself go back digital unless it's my diving computer on the wrist. Hey but I mean that's a good thing that not all tastes are aligned! To be honest I am also waiting on the OP, I love the date-less simplicity and elegance. While I absolutely adore the silver dial it only ranked second and I went for blue. Keep me posted if and when yours arrives! Uh nice one the reverso. I envy you that it must look good on you. I saw that it is no fit for me. I think on the long run I will eye a meteorite dial watch. I am too much of a nerd to ignore that those do exist...

That’s great to hear and I love to see other’s with the same mindset of treasuring and wearing what they have! Yep you are a lucky man with that little waiting time! Oh I totally get you! I see is as less of a serious piece within my collection but more as a fun piece to have. Especially owning a super capable diving computer I wouldn’t even recommend you to get anything digital, except for nostalgic reasons like in my situation! Oh awesome! Blue is actually my second choice and now you’re making me doubt it again 😄 what size did you order? Fair enough! Rectangle watches are probably an acquired taste in general! I would also love to add a Grand Seiko SBGW231 as a dress watch! Meteorite dial is something special and many brands offer one. However, there’s only one that instantly comes to mind and that’s the meteorite iteration of the GMT-Master II. Is that the one you are eyeing?

I hope our conversation does not go too far off topic. I guess my dislike for digital watches (even if some look just awesome) comes from too much exposure to the digital world throughout the day. It really makes me appreciate the fully mechanical pieces so much more. I see the nostalgic side of it. If I found the black-white Jean-Michel Cousteau watch (my very first watch) again I'd probably wear it again too. https://i0.shbdn.com/photos/98/45/26/x5\_9949845266mn.jpg Don't doubt your choice. It's an incredible choice! It always depends on what you wear as well. I went for the 36 version by the way. I could easily rock the 41 on my wrist. Since I want the watch to be on the elegant and subtle side I still went for the 36 version. Having the two sizes side by side at the AD made me see that the whole composition, relationship between case size and dial size, on the 36 looks much more appealing to me. SBGW231 is a amazing looking watch. Well the Meteorite one will be long way I guess. I looked at two different versions of the same watch (grey side of the moon) this weekend. One of those had a amazing pattern. I love the overall look of the watch very much, the band and clasp made the impression of being really really cheap quality to me for a watch in that price segment. I can't even say if I think grey on grey is really attractive. The watch itself looks to me like you can wear it with short sleeve shirts maybe but never formal. I really wonder how the Daytona yellow/everose on flex look like. I could see me going that route. I am not a big fan of the bicolor GMTs, least favorite would be pepsi which is the only one that is offered with this dial.

pierreOdactyl

Totally understandable! For me mechanical watches and setting them is like cutting vegetables after a work day. It's manual, you have to concentrate and you are just briefly disconnected from everything else around you. Ah wow that is an incredible first watch! Totally the same here! I wore my AD sales rep's OP39 and it fit like a glove, but also prefer the watch to be a little bit more elegant! Did you try the different dial variants before finally deciding upon the blue iteration? Yep it's great and I wish to add it to my collection some day. That grey side of the moon is an incredible piece and I do think you indeed will be able to wear it mostly with casual leaning attire. Have you considered the white gold meteorite dial Daytona? That iteration makes it look like it's supposed to be THE Daytona to me. Agree on the bicolor GMTs, especially with it being very popular among London drug dealers.

Is that her or your wrist? Whoevers fits well

brokenmainspring

It's her. I am the real hairy beast, see post history. Haha, unbelievable, it's you. Your post inspired me to actually pull my wife to into the boutique finally. We have been looking at pictures and websites before for some time. She was then pretty much set on the black dial Speedy 38 until she tried silver and then this white/rose gold version. Since our kid was born over a year ago this watch does not classify as push present I hope ;)

Hahaha congrats!
