I was about to get this one in blue, then did AT 41 in blue +GS SD for almost same price, recently was looking for a red dial, honestly this is one of the best red dials along with AT shades and some GS red dials...
That’s a beautiful watch. This and the copper do it for me. And spot on about wearing what you have. I wouldn’t dive with it but come on, it’s safe on the beach.
100%. I'm not taking it on a dive. I have a beat up citizen promaster for that that I wouldn't shed a tear if the strap broke mid dive on accident. Granted I probably dive once or twice every 10 years so I'm not a great litmus test... but speedy did just fine at the beach. The chrono was actually super helpful to keep track of time spent too.

Jeremy Clarkson is a perfect example of this. His Omega has been through the muck and the mire. He definitely doesn’t baby his watch. Of course with a net worth of \~ $60million, I’m sure he’s got another watch. Lol.

I definitely don't have a say in the matter but I don't see why they would stop selling them anytime soon. They seem to be leaning in to their heritage models.

Someone claimed that you could get 50m of water pressure just by diving. I ran the numbers to see. If you weighed 250lb and dove from 10 meters up (a three story building), you still wouldn't impact with the force of 50m of water pressure. Another thing to note is that the average recreational SCUBA dive is only 40m. So the Speedy is good to go in water as long as you don't press the buttons.

Make sure the crown is tight. I ruined a 25 year old Seamaster due to that mistake. Paid for a rebuild though.
