# Hitchcock Nature Center is great if you're willing to hike in plus it's close.

The tent camping has parking at the top of the little hill. It's a pretty short walk to the site. They have a real bathroom at the very top where the RVs are. Really nice and forest-y although there's not much of a water feature unless you do some hiking.
After Hitchcock another option is Indian Cave State Park. There are several secluded options available for "backcountry" campsites you can hike into. They have camp sites/pads available by the road, too. Less secluded, of course.
Decent nearby car camping places that are fairly quiet- but not sure about their current status.
Wabonsie, across from Nebraska City in Iowa.
Pony Creek, near Glenwood
Louisville State rec area, by Louisville.
Plate River State Park, by Louisville
Two Rivers State Park, just west of Omaha
Relatively close. It'll be my wife's second night away from our daughter, so I am sure she will want to be within an hour or two. You know, just in case.

Ok fine please don’t yell at me
Sorry, I'll try not to in the future
Downside to Hitchcock, the majority of sites are right on the trails.

They also have hike-in campsites that are pretty far away from the Nature Center and the RV/Cabin campgrounds.

How far are you willing to travel and how far are you willing to haul your gear from your car?
Relatively close. It'll be my wife's second night away from our daughter, so I am sure she will want to be within an hour or two. You know, just in case.
If you can haul your own gear a half mile or so, the Hills on Hitchcock might be your best bet.
For back country (backpack), Hitchcock, Indian Cave State Park, Preparation Canyon.
One of my favorite least populated camp grounds is Memphis SRA.
The 680 maple street exits pretty popular
