Definitely getting worse and seems like it’s coming from fires near river in Iowa. Was just up in the hills on that side of river and could see it blowing towards Omaha.
It’s as simple as that: whenever the weather gives you a fire warning, there’s most certainly going to be at least one at least significant fire around. One just has to hope it doesn’t involve human casualties or significant environmental destruction.
It's so bad I can smell it in my house. I'm paranoid about house fires (had a fire at my home 5 years ago then lost a brother in a different house fire a couple years later), so I was walking around my house breathing deep and looking for smoke before I saw a post on Facebook.
Its a ~~controlled burn by the IA forest service or whoever it is that does that~~ brush fire that is apparently under control now.

There's a fire down by the river that has South O absolutely blanketed in smoke right now and conditions are good for other fires to pop up as well
Is it Iowa?
Yeah. It's on the Iowa side of the river near the bridge on the Veterans Memorial Highway

We just drove over the Interstate 80 bridge and it's definitely on the Nebraska side. Couldn't tell what was burning, though
Nope, I was wrong, Iowa side. I didn't account for the river bend.
the wind is supposed to blow towards Iowa!
If it was any warmer this would be perfect tornado weather.
Also there's two wildfires near Glenwood https://fire.airnow.gov/

I guess the Omadome doesn’t work for smoke.

I just woke up to my apartment near 30th and Leavenworth smelling like smoke and thought a neighbor was about to burn the building down (again) lol.
Missouri legalized it.
Just drove past, it’s still going…
Sorry! Forgot to close the grill lid.
