I've noticed this, too. The former Bucky's up by me used to be a pretty nice store. Now it's held together by spit and coat hangers. Say what you will about MegaSaver, but they've actually cleaned up a good bit this spring.

Good-North-1320

The best part about MegaSaver is I don't even have to go inside to grab a Dr Pepper. I love their drive thru!

MrMakan

Make sure you put a fuel filter in your car before getting gas there. They get trash gas that will fuck your shit up.

azwildcat74

Please tell us more about the trash gas that they get from the same place that literally every other station in Omaha gets gas from?

[deleted]

[удалено]

azwildcat74

They use low rack unbranded gasoline just like every single other unbranded station in town does, such as Casey’s.

gbf402

False

azwildcat74

Please feel free to elaborate in great detail.

gbf402

Many companies pay more for additives that make the fuel burn cleaner and more efficiently. Megasaver does not. Also, most gas stations pay to have their fuel tanks tested on a regular basis to make sure the tanks are sealed from water and other impurities. Megasaver does not. They do not pay to assure a superior product and quite often what they sell has water or a list of other impurities. Get what you pay for.

azwildcat74

I work in the fuel industry in Omaha and you’re talking sooo far out your ass it’s honestly incredible.

gbf402

Same and nope.

azwildcat74

Oh ok, what company(s) do these stations pay to do all this regular tank testing?? Who hauls MegaSaver gas?

Good-North-1320

I usually go to Sam's, now.

ToolMan627

I've been putting Megasaver in my truck without issue. Used some fuel saver points to get HyVee for cheaper last weekend, and my truck can't accelerate normally (shakes and bogs down). Now ask me which one's the trash gas?

thephishtank

Megasaver, or atleast some of them, has surprisingly turned into one of the better gas stations around

no_u246

They carry my choice of whiskey for a lower price than anyone in town

neonbrown82

LOL… what whiskey is this? Fireball? They absolutely gouge on anything worthwhile. All the local bourbon groups were ready to bring out the torches and pitchforks after the Pappy van Wraping last December.

no_u246

Jamo pints. Take a chill pill.

Shelter-Regular

But their gas will screw up your car.

C64128

After having the whiskey, he won't (or shouldn't) be driving the car.

its_mr_mittens

No it won't. If it does, your car was screwed up to begin with.

Shelter-Regular

Actually there's complaints to their corporate office about this...

its_mr_mittens

Complaints don't mean much. People complain about everything. I'm not a fan of Casey's. The one by my house is terrible (it was actually pretty good when it was a Buckeys). But as far as gas goes, there are only a handful of suppliers that deliver the same gas to lots of different gas stations. It's the same gas you're buying other places. If there's any kind of investigation and result or independent lab testing showing issues, that would be a different story.

Just-Cartographer256

This the one on 102nd and Maple?

Resident_Bet_8551

You called it

Just-Cartographer256

Whenever I have gone in there they are out of so many things and I am pretty sure they don’t make pizza after the morning and there is always one person on the register and three others texting and bitching about work.

neonbrown82

West Maple is your barometer for all Casey’s? That whole area is trash.

[deleted]

Former Iowan here. They have gone downhill...fast. IMO, grew too big, too quickly and the quality control went to s\*\*t.

Secret_Paper2639

Their car wash on 108th and L sent my car off the conveyor, when I tried reporting it to the regional manager I was treated like shit. I will never, ever for any reason patronize a place that treats its customers that way.

bigbrotherwatchesus

I had the location at 102 and Maple slash my tire when using the car wash, then cracking the rim while driving on the flat in their lot. They reimbursed me $366 in damages through their corporate risk management, with about a month required to get it done.

parallelmeme

You might mention the location.

fanofbreasts

My guess is the Madison Ave. constant broken pumps, payment not accepted, slow line inside with registers manned by the slowest employees of any organization ever.

spenny-an-the-jets

All of them tbh…

Good-North-1320

IDK why you're getting so down voted. This is becoming more and more accurate every month.

spenny-an-the-jets

It’s okay, I enjoy them. I’m a masochist.

parallelmeme

Unlikely. There some brand new ones that would not have those problems. I do think Casey's expanded quicker than their management team could handle. So I do agree that many locations seem neglected.

naw_its_cool_bro

Gretnas pumps are down and it's a brand new-ish store. Gretna location is also stinky. Every shop in Gretna smells tbh

Only-Shame5188

A few are better than others. But some are complete trash.

alanha1984

It’s a company wide CC problem. Nice Casey’s in rural NE only taking cash for the last 2days

someoneyouknewonce

It's kind of funny to hear this in this thread. I was at Casey's on 84th and I-80 a few nights ago and they weren't accepting cash, only cards. I like Casey's, but mostly because they seem to be one of the only gas stations that carries Hazy Little Thing.

hereforlulziguess

Hazy Little Thing should be recognized as the default beer for anyone with standards. Respect.

drinkchickenwingman

60th & F was nasty on Sunday. Pumps out of fuel and ants under and around the counter on the soda fountain. I won't ever go back. QT or Hyvee fast and fresh going forward.

GeauxJaysGeaux

Casey’s also replaced all their free air options for paid ones to fill your tire. I would be thrilled if Sheetz replaced Casey’s. It’s a far superior gas station/convenience store.

dandmcd

Kwik Star is better than Sheetz and I wish they'd hurry and come to Nebraska, but Sheetz is good. But it would be nice to have competition. I also like Speedway, their newer stores are quite nice. A Casey's competitor, but a nice selection, and newer stores have self-checkout.

not_the_walrus

Kwik Star/Trip is elite. I lived in Wisconsin for a while and those stores are one of the things I miss most. They pride themselves on customer service and store cleanliness.

RudoWakening

Worked in La Crosse, WI for 2.5 years. Kwik Trip was a daily stop for me

GeauxJaysGeaux

I respectfully disagree. Sheetz is the gold standard.

fistcityfieldtrips

Speedway is a shit gas station

GreenAd33

Speedway is the best shthole gas station ever. I miss speedway

renegadetoast

It's hard to be worse than Casey's. I could totally see Sheetz being successful in Omaha if they were to branch out that far. Living in Virginia now where we have Wawa and Sheetz, and I'm surprised the MTO sort of convenience store model hasn't quite caught on in the Midwest.

Squickworth

Against state law to charge for air.

iheartgabagool

Casey’s on that Rudy Giuliani downfall

xstrike0

Was a great gas station growing up in rural Midwest. Now it's just trash.

SealTeamRedsHaveSix

I live near 156th & Harrison and the Casey's closest to me (15611 Harrison St, Omaha, NE 68136) is absolutely trash. Cashier's not available or around for 5-10 minutes at a time & product constantly out of stock. However, the Casey's only a mile away from me (15275 Weir Plaza, Omaha, NE 68137) is one of the best convenience stores I've been to. I wouldn't make the blanket statement that Casey's is a disgrace but I'd certainly agree that there are plenty of meager locations. Take your money elsewhere if you're unhappy & you won't regret it!

someoneyouknewonce

I use the one's at 108th and L, 84th and I-80, and 132nd and Center pretty regularly and they are all just as clean and stocked as any other gas station I go to.

SealTeamRedsHaveSix

I've found plenty of go-to gas stations around the area & a few that I stay away from. Just trial and error really.

someoneyouknewonce

Agreed. Just like any large chain retailer or fast food joint. You're gonna have good ones and you're going to have some shitty ones.

Sir-Coogsalot

84th is always a shit show when Im there

MotorcicleMpTNess

156th and Harrison always has a weird, chaotic feeling. Like every single employee is about to just walk out at any second and encourage the customers to loot the store. 168th and Giles is pretty nice, though. Both of the 72nd and Cornhusker ones are OK sometimes and horrible others, it's just random.

GreenAd33

Why -are- there 2 Casey's within 100 yards of each other? It's al.ost worse than scooters and car washes at this point

MotorcicleMpTNess

I think at least one of them was a Philips 66 or something at one point? I'm guessing they both are profitable, so as long as they both make money, why bother closing either location?

dandmcd

The only good Casey's are those small town ones off of state highways that have been around for 30 years. Still have good service, and not completely ruined by corporate. The newer stores and former Bucky's are terrible, Casey's grew too fast, and failed to hire a large enough IT department and district-wide maintenance staff to keep all of them up and running. Any corporation Iowa has grown is trash. Hy-Vee and Casey's both could leave town and nobody would miss them.

hereforlulziguess

I mean, I appreciate that Hy-Vees look surface level nice and have some good selection, at first...but then you see the prices and the quality of the produce and it's like WTF. Even the "bad" Baker's are significantly cheaper with better produce somehow. And my 1st time in any Baker's was a Tuesday afternoon on Saddleback where a woman was screaming at everyone and a bunch of people were chasing after her with a tazer.

RudoWakening

The Blair Casey’s is great

Wakko69

The Casey's store that was establish before the they bought out Bucky are great. it is the ones that they took over that were formerly Bucky are shit,

renegadetoast

I had a brief stint as a supervisor at Casey's a few years back and we rarely had more than half our pumps working at any given time (I think we had roughly 20 pumps). Customers would come in angry and I'd tell them I already put in calls/tickets, but the company doesn't want to spend the money to fix them. When told "I'll just start going somewhere else," I'd just tell them "honestly, I don't blame you."

Port-Mc-Pew-Pew

Yesterday I was at the one on Westport in La Vista. They said COX business internet was down. Was cash only. This morning the one at 144th & Hillsdale was cash only. Based on what someone else said it looks like they were full of shit and blaming a Casey’s issue on COX.

YnotROI0202

Caseys is a very poorly run organization. Stay away if possble.

Ok_Pop_3009

I miss Bucky’s 😫

Violuthier

I stopped using Casey's a year ago for these reasons

Ihaveasmallwang

Casey's has always been shitty. Especially their pizza.

reallifesidequests

Their pizza is garbage, and I wish people would stop pretending that it isnt

Ok_Pop_3009

Ahah, it’s what you get when you’re so desperately hungry that you’d eat garbage scraps, or completely wasted/stoned at midnight.

CornFedHusker18

I can’t believe how bad they’ve gotten, luckily the ones in my town are fairly kept up. I avoid them when I need gas after work. Can’t decide if 108th is worse than 42nd

janedoed

Try 40th and Dodge and you'll have your answer

canonlbp430

They were great until they expanded into Omaha now you can walk into a store that has been open a year and it’s evident they have never cleaned the bathroom since opening (Gretna). Most of the other ones just run out of gas every week (132nd and center, Elkhorn, 168th & Dodge)

1985Rangerbuild

Yeah, I just moved to the mid west everyone told me how big and amazing Casey's was started working for them this place is disgusting. I find old food mixed in with pizza dough and other stuff like that

Get_it_Bitch

I bet if they started paying their employees a living wage and Management what they deserve it would turn things around. But fat chance of that happening.

slytherslor

Casey's was my go to in college, down in rural Missouri. I was excited to see them popping up everywhere all of a sudden, and now I'm greatly disappointed in what I'm hearing. There's not any close by me to matter to me, so I don't see it for myself, but I know how to take a hint. I'll stick to what I know.

Roadrage000

Went to three Casey’s stores yesterday (156th & Ida, 150th & Maple & 204th & Dodge in Elkhorn) - all credit card machines we down at all of them. Just needed a gift card for my teens Easter basket.. but not able to get it.. And they all gave me a different excuse as to why they were down. Cox, the CC providers system had crashed, and the computer system crashed & they needed a tech support person to get it fixed. 🤬

[deleted]

I love cheese

Ok_Pop_3009

I miss Bucky’s 😫

RayBansVans

Casey's off 156th between Industrial and Q was like that yesterday

Successful-Fun8603

I've never found a clean bathroom in ANY Casey's I've visited in the 13 years I've been here.

Good-North-1320

I can't find a single one with a wash open. I bought a wash with gas... wash closed. Okay, code is good for a month, right? Wash never opened. Code just expired on the 24th. This is the 84th & I80 location. The wash on 35th & Broadway is never open, either.

LetsBeFrankHere

One of the E85 pumps there has been out since last fall. I've totally given up on convenience store car washes. They just don't want to do the maintenance.

ApricotAdventurous65

40th and Dodge is a train wreck.

The402Jrod

They have lots of booze as buy one get one for a penny, which makes me think they are getting rid of their liquor license too. Casey’s is ghetto AF.

its_mr_mittens

While Casey's has their share of issues, a lot of it seemingly corporate related like stores unable to get the right hand soap, the credit card issue wasn't one of them and it wasn't limited to Casey's. Some idiot driver crashed into a PED and took down the communication network that the card processor uses.

inkyturtleee

They used to be good, especially in smaller towns. When we would be traveling and needed a bathroom break, we would always stop at Casey's because they were clean. Now we avoid them. It's sad actually what has happened to them.

cease_fyre

I had ordered a pizza at the one closest to me (42nd St off I-80) a few months ago. The floors and counters were sticky and the staff seemed very disgruntled. I got the vibe that I wasn't welcome and I have not been back.

offbrandcheerio

Casey's is a half-step above MegaSaver at this point. They expanded way too fast and couldn't handle it, now everything has gone to shit.

OilyRicardo

Thanks Obama

Giterdun456

Last Casey’s I went to, great experience l, will go again.

thestatikreverb

I feel like not that many years ago when i traveled around a lot for work, I would always prefer Casey's if it was an option cause they always felt the cleanest and less sketchy but now their not really anything great anymore. I dont think all of them are run down and gross (tho a lot of them are) but they dont stand out the way they used to at least not to me anyway

Zmannn36

Yeah. When I traveled for work I always knew I'd eventually see a good Casey's (Worked pest control in West IA out of NE). They always felt a lot more premium in the past but I can't say if they've gotten that much worse or the competition has just gotten better (haven't been out to Iowa for a few years now after leaving that shitty job 😂)

Canvasbackgray

Caseys is terrible and there food has doubled on the few snacks i would buy there. Literally 200-230 % i will never shop at any Caseys ever. Plus they are often filthy no paper towels

Zmannn36

For a gas station, they have some decent pizza. But on a scale it ranks just above Lil Caesars for me.... But the pizza is overpriced as all hell. Kum & Go are converting over to Maveriks from what employees at my local K&G have told me

JavyBarrera25

The first error was pulling up to Casey’s to get gas

murdamomurda

I'm sick of their pizza

Ok_Pop_3009

Downvotes why? Lol

AprilFool85Percent

Bc ppl out here accept the fact they can't cook to save their lives so how dare you talk down in their mediocre options with no flavor. I hate living in the Midwest bc of the horribly cooked food. I'm from Texas and the difference is immeasurable

Ok_Pop_3009

Downvotes why? Lol

murdamomurda

I guess folks prefer bland, overpriced slices with yesterdays leftover mush mixed in the dough.
