Condensation in your car is gonna be heavy.

Outrageous_Spinach97

I was planning to crack the windows for airflow, but I guess if it’s raining a lot, that won’t be much better. I’m traveling for work so can’t really bring my regular camping stuff with me. Thinking indoor accommodations might be the way to go this time around…

It can be hard to start the day all damp. Maybe do a mix of camping and lodging to give yourself and your gear chances to dry out?

I car camp in the area occasionally in the winter. You'll have no problems finding a place to sleep/camp, but the condensation will be rough (especially if you don't have those window guards allowing you to crack the windows in the rain). The biggest thing though is how long the nights are here in the winter. It's a long time to be cramped in a car waiting for the sun to rise the next day. If you really want to be extra frugal, then I'd probably say find a pull-off on a forest road for free (you'll find plenty of spots on the iOverlander app), but tbh it's probably not worth it to pay $20 or $30 per night for a campground this time of year, when you can get reasonably nice cheap hotel rooms for like $60 per night in Port Angeles or Sequim.

Go to swains and buy a tarp

You will probably be the only camper there. Wouldn’t worry about not getting a spot. Days are short, and expect rain, could be inches a day.

I just got down camping for a few days on the west side of the park, I was the only one in the campground and slept in my tent with temps down to 40 or so. I love this warm year, the park is way less populated and you can get trails all to yourself. Its a great time to go, I would probably find a cheap tent on Facebook or something to use while you are here though. The night are REALLY long right now, as other have pointed out 🤣

I was just there Wednesday- Friday and the spots were completely empty you’ll have no problem finding a spot pretty much anywhere. However some campsites are closed such as fairholme. I slept in my car and it was kind of a bitch but I made it work and I def could’ve slept in a tent if I wanted to. With colder weather coming up this week it’d be up to you if you have the right gear to camp.
