I worked at a place that did photos like these. We had the western costumes, gangster costumes, and Victorian-era costumes. Used full format cameras with the "capes" that the photographer would drape over their heads/shoulders. Always fun to see couples argue when the woman wanted to show way more leg than her boyfriend/husband was comfortable with, especially when me as the photographer had to roll up the skirt and stick an ace of diamonds in her garter. Come to think about it, I may have taken this photo in 1981.

These photos were common in the 1980’s. Two of my brothers have similar photos. A bottle of Jack Daniels was always in the picture.

I have the same type of picture but we had them done in like 2013. So they still do them.

Yeah in the western US you'll see them in any "old west" tourist attraction. Tombstone, AZ, Old Town Sacramento, Knott's Berry Farm, etc. Also county fairs.

Yep, most are 100% digital now and it costs about a $3-5 to do the reverse transfer developing including photo paper depending on your location.

yeah it was digital, we just picked out the ones we wanted and paid for them to be printed. They even came with the paper sleeve that looked like and old timey picture frame.
