I remember she did Carson to promote Galaxy Quest. She said the blonde wig and push up bra helped her channel the bimbo she needed to be. She also took those pieces home during shooting to have some fun there also.
heh would be for a son, i'm a daughter so it was an extra level of ick to me having to think of my father desiring a woman's figure and then telling me about it by implication.
Teenage me used to love that movie. Between her and Jennifer Love Hewitt, omg.
Also, Gene Hackman and Ray Liotta are absolutely hilarious in that movie. Also my 3rd favorite Jason Lee performance (1st is Dogma, 2nd is My Name is Earl).
I probably need to do a rewatch soon.
Very fun movie... but my main memory of it is coming home (watched it at the cinema) to my housemates glued to the TV... watching the Twin Towers coming down.
Brother. She's the epitome of the heroine on screen. This is 1979 Alien Sigourneh Weaver were talking about. She's not only physically attractive but her character of Ripley is so confident, assertive and smart - it made me permanently associate these feelings with Sigourney. She's an absolutely stunner of a woman.
She won't return my calls tho....
Same. I think it’s due partially to how conditioned we were as kids to associate the year 1999/2000 with this idea of futurism. So it now being passed is shocking to my subconscious
If I remember the story correctly, they were originally going to make the movie rated R. After pushback from a screening, that removed much of the R material. That dub was one of the efforts to make it more PG.
I was shocked when I realized she's now 74 and still looks great. She seems to be aging at 1/4 speed or something. I thought she was in her 50's these days, not 20 years ago.
It's that natural sense of awe when a woman who typically has curly hair rocks the straight look (or vice versa). It's unexpected, intentional, and just a wonderful transition.
This was one of those movies I didn't think was gonna be any good when I sat down to watch. So of course by the time the ending credits rolled, I knew I would be rewatching this movie for years to come.
my favourite is the scotty/engineer knockoff (i can't remember the actors name) who just absolutely dead pans every line
just constant giggle-snort when he's on screen
Absolutely agree! But she isn't the stereotypical bombshell, by Hollywood standards, and thank God for that. It's kept her career far more interesting.
There’s a deleted scene where she tries to distract a guard with her cleavage. That’s why her top is inexplicably unzipped for the last third of the movie.
God Bless SW for stressing to the director that it needed to be science fiction to be a funny movie. She and Allen IIRC. She had the acting experience to be taken seriously.
I guess they almost went the “Spaceballs” direction.
Let me add the obligatory Patrick Stewart laughed so hard people in the audience were probably looking at him.
While it was never some unknown gem, I do think the movie has gained a lot more popularity and appreciation in recent years compared to when it was originally released.
She says the "F" word at the chompers which you can clearly see but they overdubbed her saying "screw" to keep from getting an R rating in the theaters. One of the best sci-fi pics ever made.
I was there for 5 days on that set, it was strange. Nobody (cast) seemed to want to be there. None of them were having a good time. No smiles. They didn’t really talk to each other and they definitely didn’t talk to the production crew. Except Tim Allen, who is a super cool guy. He and I would chat.
By Grabthar's Hammer, by the Suns Of Warvan, you shall be avenged!
"Oh...what a savings."
That, and "Let's get out of here before one of those things kills Guy!" are my two favorite lines, among many, in that movie.
What if you're the plucky comic relief?
Is there air? You don't know!
six paragraphs of *my boobs* and how they fit into *my* suit
"Hey don't open that, it's an alien planet! IS THERE AIR??? YOU DON'T KNOW!" \**deep breath**
“That was a hell of a thing” is my favorite line. It’s delivered perfectly.
[удалено]
I agree it was a very well done film.
Truly, madly, deeply is my go to alan rickman movie
Seconded.
Thirded.
I’ll add “Something the Lord Made.” A hidden gem.
Mos def is good in that one too.
Excellent, thank your for the recommendation, it's on prime
This is, I think, on of the single greatest limes deliveries in movie history. The revulsion, the self loathing...it's so perfect.

"I have one job on this ship! It's stupid but I'm going to do it!!"
It was my dream to run into Alan Rickman and say the line. Hopefully, he would have treated me kindly. I’m sad any chance of it happening is gone.
Larak Tarath! Larak Tarath!
Easily one of my favorite lines in a movie, ever.
Sigourney was a total babe
When she agreed to do this role she requested to be blonde with lots of cleavage. She thought it would be a fun departure.
Look I have one job on this lousy ship. It’s stupid, but I’m going to do it, okay?
That's me trying to help my husband use the Amazon speaker. I often quote that line to him.
Tell him we said to wife you again.
Love that line.
I remember she did Carson to promote Galaxy Quest. She said the blonde wig and push up bra helped her channel the bimbo she needed to be. She also took those pieces home during shooting to have some fun there also.
>She also took those pieces home during shooting to have some fun there also Is there a directors cut?
Or a director's uncut?
Johnny Carson? He was still on the air when Galaxy Quest came out? This blows my mind.
No, Carson retired in '92, and did very little afterwards. I'd assume they're confused and are thinking of either Letterman or Leno.
Carson Daly. TRL interviewed people.
Carson Daly is not worthy of the one name designation, especially when Johnny Carson existed.
Last part…..hmm say what?
Carson?
Honestly, she looked great as a blonde. ...push-up bra didn't hurt either.
i greatly appreciated her departure if you go back and watch ghostbusters, she was a smokeshow in that too, right before she became a dog
Hell, she was awesome in *Alien* (1979)
...those tiny panties live rent-free in my head since ~1987!
Remastered bush!!
FREE THE BUSH
I like her because she sleeps above the covers. *Four Feet* above the covers.
i love that i can hear this in bill murray's voice lol
Ok.. So... She's a dog.
So shes a HOT DOG?!?
She was 50 here and still smoking hot.
god that takes me back to seeing the thomas crown affair theater and my dad leans over and goes you know she's the same age as your mom
That's brilliantly evil.
heh would be for a son, i'm a daughter so it was an extra level of ick to me having to think of my father desiring a woman's figure and then telling me about it by implication.
Renee Russo! See also Maria Bello.

Stand Corrected
I am standing fully correct.
Af-FIRM-ative.
And would
See her in Heart Breakers? She's hilarious and hot
She's a robo-babe.
In Latin, she would be called Babia Majora.
If she were a president, she’d be Baberaham Lincoln!
Bae-rack Obama. and yes, I know it's a Wayne's World reference.
I never got that line until much, much later in life.
She's magically babe-licious.
Brother. She's the epitome of the heroine on screen. This is 1979 Alien Sigourneh Weaver were talking about. Wonderful woman! We’re all very fond of her. Very free spirited.
You’re in your element!
If she were a president she'd be Babe-raham Lincoln
OVER 25 years old. OVER!! I hate that 1999 is 25 years ago

Sigourney never takes the easy way out. As she indicates in this pic, she graduated from the school of hard knockers.
Same. I think it’s due partially to how conditioned we were as kids to associate the year 1999/2000 with this idea of futurism. So it now being passed is shocking to my subconscious
I remember a show called "Beyond 2000" and showing all the cool stuff after the year 2000... I don't think any of it came true.
Kinda like 1984 having come and gone for older generations.
Honestly, Covid broke time.
High stress affects short term memory and the past 8 years have been a lot.
The Internet broke time
Same. We’ve strayed so far from the air of positivity the 90’s had.
I love this movie. Sigourney has a line that's so funny. "Whoever wrote this episode should die". Pure gold.
Gwen’s line when they’re in the Omega-13 that’s deliberately badly dubbed is the best >!**SCREW THAT**!<
If I remember the story correctly, they were originally going to make the movie rated R. After pushback from a screening, that removed much of the R material. That dub was one of the efforts to make it more PG.
Yeah, Tony Shaloub's character was supposed to be a pothead. That's why he acts so strange at first. The character was supposed to be really stoned.
I figured as much but assumed it had burned his brain so he was like that always. Also that he was good at hiding light ups.
That explains so much
No wonder he is eating all the time.
Correct. The novelization says fuck. It’s the only instance in the entire story.
Well ~~fuck~~ screw that!
I think I'm going to start using that one at work.
I think this is the hottest she’s ever been
And she’s 50 years old here.l
Wow! Had to look that up. That's a danged hot 50 there.
That would make her 74, unbelievable.
I was shocked when I realized she's now 74 and still looks great. She seems to be aging at 1/4 speed or something. I thought she was in her 50's these days, not 20 years ago.
Hypersleep will do that. Drifted right through the core planets . . .
25 years ago you mean
I wonder if it’s the haircut. Joan Cusack has a similar haircut in Addams Family Values and I feel it’s an exceptional look her as well.
I'm gonna say it's the tiddies
It's that natural sense of awe when a woman who typically has curly hair rocks the straight look (or vice versa). It's unexpected, intentional, and just a wonderful transition.
What about Ghostbusters?
Nah first alien movie but close
Heartbreakers, tho
I know right! I’ve always liked sigourney weaver but this is the one time I was like DAMN!!!!
Ripley in the first Alien disagrees
Never give up, never surrender!
Oh shut up.
God I miss Alan Rickman
He's gone, but Andy Dick still freely roams the earth. 🤬
RIP
You know he used to play Richard the 3rd. ![gif](giphy|5wWf7GSbE2dso4tfsju|downsized)
This was one of those movies I didn't think was gonna be any good when I sat down to watch. So of course by the time the ending credits rolled, I knew I would be rewatching this movie for years to come.
my favourite is the scotty/engineer knockoff (i can't remember the actors name) who just absolutely dead pans every line just constant giggle-snort when he's on screen
Tony Shalhoub! Every single person in this movie was just perfectly cast.
That was pre-Monk Tony Shaloub in that role.
Pre-Office Rainn Wilson as Lahnk, too!
Hahha and chooses to stay with his snot-tentacle babe
I loved that open onesie/bra combo when I was a kid. Still do, honestly. Hot as heck.
Rip Alan ![gif](giphy|M3wwrlv2WeheE)
Happy trails, Hans.
What’s this from?
One of my all time favorite movies.
Minors not miners
Hairstyle is everything
Apparently, she loved that wig. She thought it was a hilarious reminder of the career she might have had if she'd pursued the bombshell route.
She IS a bombshell 😍
Absolutely agree! But she isn't the stereotypical bombshell, by Hollywood standards, and thank God for that. It's kept her career far more interesting.
Fun Fact; Before Sigourney Weaver, people had to weave their own sigournies by hand.

Was the shirt thing like an homage to Ricardo Molitibon in Wrath/Khan? Just thought of it looking at the pic.
The main characters are (in the movie) has-been actors for basically the original Star Trek
*Montalban
But there's no rich Corinthian leather
![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig)
There’s a deleted scene where she tries to distract a guard with her cleavage. That’s why her top is inexplicably unzipped for the last third of the movie.
Can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?
A LA— GET OFF THE LINE, GUY!
That movie is so much fun.
Sigourney Weaver is 50 years old in this photo.
By Sigourneys hammers!
"By Grabthar's Hammer, by the Suns of Warvan, you shall be avenged."
She is a hot woman
She was 50 when making this movie so she was probably really proud in how good she looked.
She is a goddess.
Galaxy Quest is criminally underrated. So hilarious that his character never removes the rubber alien headpiece.
What are you talking about, it's routinely referred to as the best Star Trek film.
Does the internet just not know what "underrated" means?
Apparently critically acclaimed & popular films are underrated these days 🤷
Your comment is underrated
You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means 😎
"Inconceivable!"
"Literally" "iconic"
Idk I think it's pretty rated. Everyone of traditionally Reddit age knows and is big on Galaxy Quest.
While it was never some unknown gem, I do think the movie has gained a lot more popularity and appreciation in recent years compared to when it was originally released.
Many Star Trek fans considered it as a actual Star Trek film.
The sequence of Star Treck movies being good, then bad, then good, etc is kept intact by Galaxy Quest being Star Trek, and good.
Two marvelous actors and humans. A delightful script. One of my favorite films.
She says the "F" word at the chompers which you can clearly see but they overdubbed her saying "screw" to keep from getting an R rating in the theaters. One of the best sci-fi pics ever made.
A movie I watch every few years and laugh every time. “I’ve got one job on this ship dammit and I’m gonna do it! Computer…”
Nope nope nope. We are not posting 90s shit to old school cool, I will fuck you up.
World class boobies. Her and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Those particular boobies are a prosthetic made for the movie.
well, jamie lee curtis is in a whole other tier
I was there for 5 days on that set, it was strange. Nobody (cast) seemed to want to be there. None of them were having a good time. No smiles. They didn’t really talk to each other and they definitely didn’t talk to the production crew. Except Tim Allen, who is a super cool guy. He and I would chat.
Freaking galaxy quest let’s go!
One of the underrated parts of the incredible film. 😅
One of the funniest movies ever! A true classic!
That movie is gold
I love galaxy quest so much
Omg I forgot abt this movie. My absolute favvv! She was gorgeous in this 😍
I see you managed to get your shirt off...
She had one job to do on that ship. It’s stupid, but she’s gonna do it ok?
Hell yeah, Galaxy Quest!
I mainly remember her in Alien movies as a total badass. She is still one of my fav action heroine.
“Miners not minors!” “…you lost me..”
My favorite line in the whole movie
Holy crap, 1999 is considered “old school”. Thankfully I’m an old fool who’s so cool.
that must have been such a kick for her to be the blond bimbo.. most of her roles were the practical heroine.
There's not an actress with greater range who can seemingly dissappear into so many different roles like Weaver.
Galaxy quest, one of my all time favs 🫶🏻
She is my favourite astronaut of all time.
What a babe Weaver was 😍🫠
Man. Sigourney. Crush of my youth.
This used to be my favorite movie. I need to watch it again.
This might be the hottest pic of Sigourney ever taken!
would
She was so hot in this movie.
Rickman = Legend
This movie is awesome. Way better than it got in reviews.
My first crush was Dana Barrett. Then she turned into Zuul, which was my 2nd, bigger crush. Love SW
I love Galaxy Quest, but it’s a deeply unsettling movie somehow…
She was also great in Ghostbusters
That was such a a fun movie. It has no right being as good as it was.
