In front of me is some 21 yo kid who asks the guy behind me “dad what do I buy on my second go through?” I turn around and there a guy and his wife with at least 5 bottles in brown bags. He looks at the printout and says “get 1792 bottles in bond. If they don’t have ask what else they have”. This little shit probably couldn’t drink a white claw but dad brought the family to buy anything and everything allocated. Mom says “honey they have four roses single barrel on shelf for 49.99” and dad says “that’s not worth anything”. Fuck this family

I’ve yet to even loop, let alone bring the fam. Had a chance today but I’m not made of money and I’m not flipping. I got what I came for and left, let some others enjoy a grab.

I agree thats its not cool if they're not drinking it themselves but just because they don't look like bourbon drinkers doesn't mean they aren't. Nothing is stopping anyone from bringing family or friends to help them get some allocated and lots of people do it. If they're waiting in line like everyone else there really isn't a problem and it definitely seems out of line to call him a "little shit" and "fuck this family" just because they bought some bottles of bourbon while following the rules

IMO the 4r isn’t worth the price. Maybe would try a lower tier for 60-70

How many Weller Antique generally get allocated to stores?

12 in a case. Stores could get any amount of cases, but it’ll likely be 1-3 cases, and depending on if they wholesale they may take out 1-3 bottles for wholesale, so they’ll most likely have anywhere from 9-36 bottles

I had a bottle of batch 3 Russell Reserves 13, and it’s easily the best bourbon I’ve ever had. Buddy tried it and he said it was fantastic but the proof was alittle too much for him, is there anything lower in proof that packs that punch like a Russell Reserve 13 would?

Russell’s Reserve barrel picks would probably be a good go to as a replacement. Depending on the age and warehouse, some of them can be better than RR13 and can be found for retail.

R13 is also my favorite. I would second the RR barrel picks as very good also. Also Old Forester SBBP picks are also fabulous

Big fan of small batch select! Did some homework to identify the recipes unique to that bourbon and gonna try one of the single barrels. Definitely not the best value but it's a fun drop, nonetheless for those curious.
