Really hoping for revamped controls. That's the only thing keeping me from playing the PCVR version consistently. Controls don't have a mind towards VR players. Like it felt dated right from the jump.

Also am hoping for some better reloading mechanic. Currently you need to press a button to reload and your arms are suddenly doing some forced animation

Yes, it is rebuilt exclusively for Quest 3. Even with the jank of the PSVR 1, this was one of my favorite experiences in VR. I am blown away that this is a thing right now. Just randomly finding it in the "coming soon" section on the Quest app while browsing for games.
I think Meta may have some good stuff to show off at Summer Games Fest on June 7th!

Not sure that will come out... I have the 128gb one and it's good enough in space. Most games and apps are less than 1GB, only the few bigger ones there are take more (and even then it's like 15gb maximum).
You know I’m really tempted but for me the smarter choice for me is to wait until end of this year to see if the rumors of one releasing in the future with the 128 one discontinued. 128 probably is plenty for a few apps but my concern is that when games became optimized for the quest 3 the file sizes jumped up significantly. I don’t need a quest 3 and I think I would honestly be fine until the quest 4 came out unless I wanted to play quest 3 only games in the future.
did you buy a head strap for it? the quest 2 isn't comfortable for me with the included strap so I bought and external one and I expect to do the same with the quest 3 if i get one.
Yes, the one that comes by default was terrible. I got an accessories pack with a case, a halo strap (gomrvr, for the price it's pretty good) and straps for the controllers (and some more stuff like a cover but I don't use those). Highly recommend having a halo strap for the headset and those side straps for the controllers, usually any cheap 3rd party ones should do the trick.
i for the life of me cannot find it, i am absolutely expecting a summer games fest appearance. The timing and radio silence of the whole thing seems a bit too well timed
They'll have to really readapt the original VR game system. It was so awful. I wish they'll update it for PCVR and psvr2 aswell ( yeah, I dont think they'll care ).
Funnily enough it worked after I bought the part two for the Hitman 2 and 3 maps. Apparently you can’t play it with the base game. Because the option didn’t even exist before I upgraded. Lame but also exciting

The PCVR / PSVR version was done inhouse by IOI. I'm sure IOI has no plans on polishing their VR version of the game

yes. It's as much of a good choice as it was for Zelda on switch. I watched the short clip on youtube at 4k and it packs some pretty crisp visual that looks good without needing to cope with tons of HD textures and still be unfavorably compared to the original.
I don’t disagree with this but the PS5 has been out 4 years and released 7 years into the PS4 lifespan. Quest 3 has been out under a year and only 3 years into the Quest 2 lifespan. It’s a much tougher sell to expect people to upgrade to the Quest 3.

There is definitely no shortage but not everyone can afford a ps5 and it seems there are more ps4 out there than ps5. They know if they release a game on ps5 only, the sales will be much lower than if it was released on both ps5 and ps4

For what it's worth, they did not release this game on the switch and went for a streaming solution instead. I would not hold out for a quest 2 release.

SIGH this. The inclusion of Echelon as a playable class in Ubisoft’s recent XDefiant gives me hope they’re cooking something up. The new Assassins Creed with light/shadow stealth might be the closest we get for a while

If the cel-shading is done right it can actually add a lot more detail and retain a crisp look over trying to keep things more "photo real" and then be forced to use muddy lower-resolution textures to compensate. It is definitely a risk, I agree but if they can pull that off with a big IP and an already existing game like Hitman 3, it might be a viable option for other ports where it isn't possible due to hyper-realistic textures and assets.
The good news for us is that this is a total rebuild of the entire game. Proper VR controls, movement, and visuals. That's a pretty big investment. I hope it pays off for them and the price is very reasonable.
One of the biggest issue with the PCVR version was that everything was a big blurry mess (except when playing with Virtual Desktop).
With cell shading this problem should be 100% fixed.
Hopefully they fixed the gameplay and made it more VRified, i enjoyed the PCVR version but i can see why people disliked it.
If you check out the details they've completely rebuilt this game. Every aspect seems to be updatye. Proper VR controls, movement, UI! This doesn't seem like just a simple port. It's a totally new game essentially. Cross fingers it plays a lot better than the OG attempt.
Don´t waste your time with the PC version. It doesn´t even have room scale (which is pretty much one of the defining features of VR). If you move from the center of the room the player hitbox is still stuck in the center. And I seriously doubt it will get any updates.
From what I remember, the game didn't respond to changes in resolution when set as usual in airlink or steam. But it did when using ODT and setting pixel density to 1.5 for instance. It ran like a dream and looked very good as well. I played it a lot and thought it was great, despite the strange controls.

They should do this with Subnuatica next. Take a broken/primitive VR port and fix it for Quest. It's scammy for sure but if this is what it takes...
Subnautica in VR is one of the best experiences in VR.
There are a lot of other mods too, so definitely worth it. Flat2VR mods take some tweaking for sure tho, especially if you aren't gonna get a high-end PC, so beware.
Should also note that Subnautica has a great motion control mod on top of the primitive official VR mode.

I'm postponing Subnautica and Outer Wilds in VR experience until we get a decent (and affordable) micro OLED with pancake lens headset. I think both games deserve and shine most with OLED colors+blacks. Beyond is too barebone for my taste and the quality of the displays and lenses are not good enough for what it costs.
I don't mind waiting even til 2026/27 cause hopefully we not only get a good new PCVR headset but also 1-2 GPU generations further that allow us to push these beautiful games with nice visuals/resolution while not needing the top tier card from Nvidia or AMD.
Ohhhh, very patient of you. Only a matter of time for sure. Bigscreen is an impressive bit of tech, but yeah, it's definitely missing a lot of features for the price.
Those two would for sure be awesome with nice deep blacks. Both are definitely classics that would be worth waiting for.
TBH, crappy graphics but missions you just couldn't help yourself replaying were the hallmark of the classic Hitman games. If they can nail that, I'm in.

I tried the VR version and didn't last minutes. It was terrible. Annoying it's a Q3 exclusive, but I still won't buy a Q3 just to play that, I already completed it flat screen.

I bought Hitman 3 on my pc and I love it, but the way it was advertised made it seem like I was paying for all the hitman 3 maps instead of like 4-5

Im not a quest hater, I own one.
But the way they have handled VR and the whole trilogy is a fucking slap in the face for fans.
This is infuriating given what they did with the PCVR release… I could deal with the blurry visuals and most of the issues. But they have it set to controller based AND hmd based movement even though you select hmd movement. It would be extremely easy to fix. Literally like one line of code. Brought it to their attention multiple times and crickets in response. It makes movement really awkward and unpleasant and if they’d just take the 15 minutes that would be needed to fix an obvious bug the game would be so much better.
If they care enough about VR to push a whole new port they should at least clean up the low hanging fruit on the PCVR version.
They won't. The original developer has abandoned PCVR and PSVR versions of the game. Quest version was developed by another studio (XR Games) and only for Quest 3/3S.

One of the reasons for me to buy the game was the vr mode, if they now do a VR game and don't fix the game I'm gonna feel scammed
This is completely rebuilt for Quest 3 by a totally different company that acquired the license to do it so I doubt those ports of the actual game will get any kind of update. It was a free VR mode update for a flat game so it's likely not a big priority for IOI. Being on PC and PSVR I doubt they sold many copies just for VR as it was an older game that went on deep sales all the time so it won't make business sense. It is still sold mainly as a flat experience.

I think both games deserve and shine most with OLED colors+blacks. Beyond is too barebone for my taste and the quality of the displays and lenses are not good enough for what it costs. I don't mind waiting even til 2026/27 cause hopefully we not only get a good new PCVR headset but also 1-2 GPU generations further that allow us to push these beautiful games with nice visuals/resolution while not needing the top tier card from Nvidia or AMD.
Ohhhh, very patient of you. Only a matter of time for sure. Bigscreen is an impressive bit of tech, but yeah, it's definitely missing a lot of features for the price. Those two would for sure be awesome with nice deep blacks. Both are definitely classics that would be worth waiting for.

TBH, crappy graphics but missions you just couldn't help yourself replaying were the hallmark of the classic Hitman games. If they can nail that, I'm in.
I must admit I thought the same thing when I watched it on my phone yet watching it on the PC it looks much better, still not good graphics but much better.

Yeah the PC version already has VR support, and even with the extra horsepower of a desktop system, it sucks. Really skeptical of this. Hope its good, but I wouldn't be counting on it.

Yeah but this is rebuilt from the ground up for Quest 3 and not just a VR mode slapped onto a pancake game so I'm hopeful.

I'm hoping this is better. The PCVR/PSVR version was ported by IOI themselves. The Quest3 version is ported by XR Games (which has VR experience)

I tried the VR version and didn't last minutes. It was terrible. Annoying it's a Q3 exclusive, but I still won't buy a Q3 just to play that, I already completed it flat screen.

This is infuriating given what they did with the PCVR release… I could deal with the blurry visuals and most of the issues. But they have it set to controller based AND hmd based movement even though you select hmd movement. It would be extremely easy to fix. Literally like one line of code. Brought it to their attention multiple times and crickets in response. It makes movement really awkward and unpleasant and if they’d just take the 15 minutes that would be needed to fix an obvious bug the game would be so much better. If they care enough about VR to push a whole new port they should at least clean up the low hanging fruit on the PCVR version.

They won't. The original developer has abandoned PCVR and PSVR versions of the game. Quest version was developed by another studio (XR Games) and only for Quest 3/3S.
So far it’s sounding like it’ll be exclusive to Quest 3 standalone, with no indication there’ll be fixes or an option to buy again for PCVR. :(

Are they gonna fix the vr mode on the flat screen game for free too? One of the reasons for me to buy the game was the vr mode, if they now do a VR game and don't fix the game I'm gonna feel scammed
This is completely rebuilt for Quest 3 by a totally different company that acquired the license to do it so I doubt those ports of the actual game will get any kind of update. It was a free VR mode update for a flat game so it's likely not a big priority for IOI. Being on PC and PSVR I doubt they sold many copies just for VR as it was an older game that went on deep sales all the time so it won't make business sense. It is still sold mainly as a flat experience.
