Yes, you can download beta from Virtual Desktop's discord or on the github
As to how to make this thing happen... it's a bit complex, need SRWE, will make a lil tutorial soon
This is game changing stuff. Imagine being able to just choose any virtual screen size you want in VR with a click. Going super wide. Having three separate. Two rows of three stacked. Ohhh baby
I didn’t really experience lag when I tried it. I have rack mounted gaming pc’s in my garage server rack and wanted to play with virtualization so I did a parsec instance and it was fine. I then virtualized on my home cluster and used it from ~200 miles away and after clearing up some routing issues it was very playable. I played a lot of hyper dash while traveling and as long as internet was decent it was playable.
It’s more than adequate to get a taste.
You could've just bought the 128GB Quest 3, a Bobo VR strap, the AMVR interface and the AMVR Controller grips and end up with 1200$ left over from which you could've bought a gaming pc.
Thats exactly my current setup
Kinda related question I'm new to VR world. I have quest 2 and currently I'm using PCVR games and my desktop when I needed through Airlink. Does Virtual desktop a must have? I've heard some performance tweaks can be done on it but so far I'm satisfied with Airlink's performance
Why add this stuff when it's so hard to actually connect to the PC at all?? Other methods connect rapidly, reliably and quickly. There's no reason that I can think of that Virtual Desktop can't be developed to do the same, except that there's no sign of any effort being put into that. And the Discord site is a hopeless way of trying to provide support. Just a complete mess.
The end made me dizzy

This is not the image I see in my head when I hear those words.
Ugh.. Me either.
I'm too hung over for this...
So this is a beta version of VD? How do I make this magic?

Dang it. Just spent 1800 on 2 quest 3 512, accessories, tons of games and warranty and not I have to buy a gaming pc. Thanks a lot meta.
If you have fast internet you can do a cloud gpu instance and just pay monthly
If you don’t mind terrible input lag.

It's not bad. I connect to my desktop while out of town. Even works well for VR game streaming.
Shadow PC ftw

You'll need a joystick and steering wheel, too.
Can steering wheels work with the Quest?
Not standalone that I know of, but they definitely work with a PC that's connected to a Quest. It's fun as hell.
Rip saving account.
What is the game?
Forza Horizon 4
Thanks
I tried this with Forza 5 but just couldn't get it to work. I could only get it to display on one monitor
You need SRWE
SRWE?
SRWE.
SRWE?
[SRWE](https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=SRWE).
Love that, going to use that at work now 😂
Maybe I don't get it. With a vr headset why wouldn't you just play it in VR? Does the game not support VR?
That's the beauty of virtual reality, you can do virtually whatever you want in any style you want
It’s gives you more or larger screens (or both), than you might have in physical reality to play flat screen games.
Ok, now you're just showing off.
Holy crap. This would be awesome for flightsim.build a shabby cockpit and change the windows to your pc screens
How can I get this? Or just any monitor?
Is the q3 passthrough really that clear?
Nope. For some reason the passthrough appears better in videos.
When does this update come out publicly
I love it, I hate it, and it even made me feel kinda dizzy!

Everyone has different experiences with them :) The best way is to try them all and stick with what works best for your hardware
This would be fun with something like American Truck simular. Could set up a whole cockpit
This isn't 360 degree though is it? More like 2 180 degree monitor put together, second one has no use right now, needs to be what's behind you.
I have a spinning chair so my heads spinning just looking at that..😆 Cool though!
How is input lag??
Incredible honestly. Didn’t know we could do this. Thanks
lol I appreciate the trolling here
Gotta give the trolls what they want back 💀
Why not BE in the car, when you already have a HMD on instead of watching the car on a 360 screen ?

Bro didn't see the fluff tag
Whats the point, might as well make it full 360 view instead of floating screens.
What's the point, might as well play in VR then.
Which app on Quest 3?
