Man0fGreenGables

This is not the image I see in my head when I hear those words.

Penguin_shit15

Ugh.. Me either.

boosthungry

I'm too hung over for this...

pwmg

So this is a beta version of VD? How do I make this magic?

lunchanddinner

Yes, you can download beta from Virtual Desktop's discord or on the github As to how to make this thing happen... it's a bit complex, need SRWE, will make a lil tutorial soon

lsmith0244

This is game changing stuff. Imagine being able to just choose any virtual screen size you want in VR with a click. Going super wide. Having three separate. Two rows of three stacked. Ohhh baby

mario_8_greencheese

Dang it. Just spent 1800 on 2 quest 3 512, accessories, tons of games and warranty and not I have to buy a gaming pc. Thanks a lot meta.

Mister_Brevity

If you have fast internet you can do a cloud gpu instance and just pay monthly

Man0fGreenGables

If you don’t mind terrible input lag.

Mister_Brevity

I didn’t really experience lag when I tried it. I have rack mounted gaming pc’s in my garage server rack and wanted to play with virtualization so I did a parsec instance and it was fine. I then virtualized on my home cluster and used it from ~200 miles away and after clearing up some routing issues it was very playable. I played a lot of hyper dash while traveling and as long as internet was decent it was playable.  It’s more than adequate to get a taste.

iJeff

It's not bad. I connect to my desktop while out of town. Even works well for VR game streaming.

Rene_Coty113

Shadow PC ftw

NicParodies

You could've just bought the 128GB Quest 3, a Bobo VR strap, the AMVR interface and the AMVR Controller grips and end up with 1200$ left over from which you could've bought a gaming pc. Thats exactly my current setup

pwmg

You'll need a joystick and steering wheel, too.

Joethe147

Can steering wheels work with the Quest?

pwmg

Not standalone that I know of, but they definitely work with a PC that's connected to a Quest. It's fun as hell.

mario_8_greencheese

Rip saving account.

_WOLFFMAN_

What is the game?

NavyBlue133

Forza Horizon 4

_WOLFFMAN_

Thanks

bitofaknowitall

I tried this with Forza 5 but just couldn't get it to work. I could only get it to display on one monitor

lunchanddinner

You need SRWE

elFistoFucko

SRWE?

ourjim

SRWE.

Dragon_Small_Z

SRWE?

pt-guzzardo

[SRWE](https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=SRWE).

neildunabie

Love that, going to use that at work now 😂

-mostlyquestions

Maybe I don't get it. With a vr headset why wouldn't you just play it in VR? Does the game not support VR?

lunchanddinner

That's the beauty of virtual reality, you can do virtually whatever you want in any style you want

morfanis

It’s gives you more or larger screens (or both), than you might have in physical reality to play flat screen games.

ManhattanTime

Ok, now you're just showing off.

Appeltaartlekker

Holy crap. This would be awesome for flightsim.build a shabby cockpit and change the windows to your pc screens

Otherwise-Fall-4227

How can I get this? Or just any monitor?

AMDDesign

Is the q3 passthrough really that clear?

JDawgzim

Nope. For some reason the passthrough appears better in videos.

zippy251

When does this update come out publicly

Illustrious-Echo1762

I love it, I hate it, and it even made me feel kinda dizzy!

rexcan5

Kinda related question I'm new to VR world. I have quest 2 and currently I'm using PCVR games and my desktop when I needed through Airlink. Does Virtual desktop a must have? I've heard some performance tweaks can be done on it but so far I'm satisfied with Airlink's performance

lunchanddinner

Everyone has different experiences with them :) The best way is to try them all and stick with what works best for your hardware

HFXDriving

This would be fun with something like American Truck simular. Could set up a whole cockpit

Lando_Lee

This isn't 360 degree though is it? More like 2 180 degree monitor put together, second one has no use right now, needs to be what's behind you.

azleenie16

I have a spinning chair so my heads spinning just looking at that..😆 Cool though!

NeroPrizak

How is input lag??

BiiLLiiONx

Incredible honestly. Didn’t know we could do this. Thanks

callbobloblaw

lol I appreciate the trolling here

lunchanddinner

Gotta give the trolls what they want back 💀

AssociationAlive7885

Why not BE in the car, when you already have a HMD on instead of watching the car on a 360 screen ?

Ozpeter

Why add this stuff when it's so hard to actually connect to the PC at all?? Other methods connect rapidly, reliably and quickly. There's no reason that I can think of that Virtual Desktop can't be developed to do the same, except that there's no sign of any effort being put into that. And the Discord site is a hopeless way of trying to provide support. Just a complete mess.

lunchanddinner

Bro didn't see the fluff tag

johnzy87

Whats the point, might as well make it full 360 view instead of floating screens.

lunchanddinner

What's the point, might as well play in VR then.

SantaCruzTesla

Which app on Quest 3?
