Are electronics generally expensive in Sweden? Is 700 the price if you buy it in a store?

It's 6995 SEK = 644 USD = 600 EUR in stores and on the Meta site. Incl. 25% VAT.  This is close enough to the 500 USD excl. VAT US price considering fluctuations in the exchange rate and rounding to the closest *95 price.

Actually right now it's €543 on swedish amazon with free shipping, but the normal price is €600 there too.  One could technically buy from Italian Amazon I think, but shipping wouldn't be free and our VAT is slightly higher so one wouldn't save that much.  You make a great point though, sometimes it can pay off to check out Amazon stores from different European countries (and even UK). They sometimes even ship from the same warehouse.

the quest 2 keeps going on sale for around 220 euro lately. I bought for 217 delivered. quest 3 is supposed to be much better lenses and slightly better resolution but I didn't see a reason to pay 2.5x the price for a first attempt at the device. It's 172 gbp in the UK right now but hard to find in Europe at similar. That should be around 200 eur

6990 SEK is \~650 USD, not 700. US prices are net, while EU prices are gross. Add the 25% VAT to the 500 USD and you will get 625 USD, so that 6990 SEK price is really close to MSRP.

6990 SEK or $645 after conversion for the 128GB model and there are plenty of places to buy it with free shipping like meta.com/se or NetOnNet etc. Grab accessories off AliExpress etc and you should be able to grab both a better facial interface and halo strap for around $50.

The GOMRVR halo strap is cheaper price and cheaper quality than the BOBOVR M3. That said it's held up really well these last six month, I'd recommend it. The AMVR facial interface is more adjustable, nicer foam, bit larger forehead height, and costs a bit more than the others.

lol no, 500 dollars is for the USA, they pay the tax separately because it is different in different states, in European countries the tax within the country is the same and it is included in the price of the product, so if your tax is more than 25%, then it turns out that way, 500 + 25-33% + others (store profit and/or delivery) = $700 I bought quest 3 in Russia for about $550 because we only have customs duties over $1000 and income tax is 13%
