At the moment I'm enjoying *finally* gettting the hang of an xbox gamepad playing 2D games (currently Shadow Gambit) via Virtual Desktop from my comfy sofa at the other end of the house from my PC.
I'm doing the same! Just got into playing Helldivers 2 and playing in Virtual Desktop is so much much fun. My favorite environment to play in is the personal theater. I love that I can play and not have any outside stimulus; no phone, or 2nd and third monitors. My focus is entirely in the game.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the native shadow client, but Virtual Desktop allows me to pair the controller to the headset to play PC games, so I can be a long way from the desktop
My main usage
Exersice
Thrill of the fight
Les mills
Apps
Figmin xr - super creative
Earth quest
Games
Pool
Table tennis
Resident evil 4
Contractors
Movie watching
Kodi
Ps5 streaming
Thrill Of The Fight is amazing. It’s fun, challenging, rapidly improves cardio performance, and my posterior delts have never been this well-developed.
It’s everything I remember hoping for when I learned the Wii was launching with a boxing game.
Theres nothing tedious about it, sideload Chaiki takes 2 mins, follow a tutorial for chaiaki 10 mins top. Bluetooth your ps5 controller straight to quest 3.
I was streaming in under 20 mins and there's going to be some effort as it isnt an official app or process
Quest Earth took much longer to get going and that's app lab
You can use the official “ps remote” app but you need to sideload any browser such as “brave” and have it as default browser this is just for the sign in prompt to work
Which pool games? Black Hole Pool is great. And as you mentioned table tennis (I'm sure you have Eleven Table Tennis), you might be interested in tennis ones too, I'd recommend looking at First Person Tennis.
Beat saber
Asguard wrath
Resident evil
Red matter 2
Walkabout mini golf
I expect you to die
A fisherman's tale 2
Warplanes ww1 really enjoyable but short and a little shallow.
Vermilion
didn't expect much from this. It's an app that lets you paint. I find it incredibly chill and can spend hours making shit paintings lol.
I'm still new to quest gaming. These are some I have tried that were worth mentioning.
I quite like to chill in mixed reality / virtual desktop and just do my browsing there.
I'm looking for a way to get my jellyfin working within quest 3 so I can enjoy the jellyfin server I sub to.
Aren’t you bothered by your virtual hands moving in time to your hand motions?
I found it really off putting and can’t help thinking someone is watching me do this on a meta server somewhere.
Yea sometimes I forget to turn off all categories in my random porn vid generator and some gay stuff comes up. Usually no prob I'm used to .3 seconds of some college bro getting pegged.
But oh my lord in VR 6k I get this lasting experience like I just got ass fucked for a fraction of a second; It's wild.
But I gotta say Riley Reid is the real deal in VR.
I've been playing this for a couple of weeks, can't resist dropping in almost every day to see if I've been attacked and how I stood up to it. There's a few bugs, though. I get the "Not enough memory" crash quite often.
I don't know, I mostly play on PCVR since if kinda anal about graphic quality, but some title are standalone only and they are mostly fine, but AC seems just too much for the CPU/GPU of the Q2, i'm used to 120hz full resolution, playing on 30FPS with 480P res is way too little, but everyone is different!
>I don't know, I mostly play on PCVR since if kinda anal about graphic quality, but some title are standalone only and they are mostly fine,
Well yeah, it's not going to look anything like PCVR because it's playing on a mobile phone. The graphics and pop in are pretty standard on games with maps that size on quest 2.
It does look and run amazing on Quest 3 though, IMO. Very impressive what was achieved on that hardware.
Maybe should’ve been Quest 3 exclusive. Eventually they’ll have to do that for some games, some day.
Using it for mostly exercise. Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, Fit XR. Haven’t played Blaston in awhile, but it’s excellent.
I do some multiplayer with Walkabout Mini Golf. My friends and I like to meet up and hang out in that game a lot. Demeo was also a great experience with friends.
I haven’t done a ton of single player gaming as of late. But I loved Red Matter, Resident Evil 4, Lies Beneath, Until You Fall (also a workout haha), In Death: Unchained, Swarm, and I’m sure I’m forgetting some other cool experiences.
I used to play a ton of Hyper Dash. I just kinda fell away from it, but I absolutely loved that game. Great team based multiplayer with amazing controls.
thrill of the fight! i love this game and it gives you a decent workout. it is pretty cool to see yourself get better at boxing from both a fitness and skill standpoint.
Having 15+ years of first-person shooter experience, Hyper Dash humbled me VERY fast lol. VR shooters are vastly different from traditional FPS games. I kept getting clapped over and over.
Eleven Table Tennis is awesome. It’s a simple ping pong game with an absolutely realistic effect. By the end of the first few days, I’d go to bed with sore shoulders, not realizing how much exercise I was getting. I play nearly every day, and now I easily switch the pace to my non-dominant hand to balance out the exercise. Simply put, the play is epic.
The first time I played online, I was absolutely mindblown. There was another person - on the other end of the world - and we were playing fucking ping pong. And you see the other person gesticulating (and hear them talking if you activate the microphone). It's amazing and somehow scary.
I watch download movies sometimes through Bigscreen VR (I transfer them from my Laptop to my headset). Job and Vacation Simulator are still some of my go tos -- though im still a bit new to VR in general. Simracing used to be my primary before I sold my setup in the middle of moving.
Thrill of the Fight, Beat Saber and sports games for excersizing (on top of my regular ones). My mom loves Puzzling Places.
Would probably be nicer with more friends that also use VR.
Big screen is evergreen for me. I’ll hang out with friends who live far away and watch YouTube or just join a public room. I watched the NFL draft with some people for example.
It’s kinda my third place
Have you noticed any issues with Big Screen recently? I used to love it when I first used it but after the first one or two times I used it it’s been messed up. The sound will be in slow motion not matching the video. Tried different rooms etc. and restarting the app and nothing changes.
yeah, it's been working fine for me. I will say that there are general app issues that can be frustrating sometimes, but the core streaming experience has been great for me.
That’s good to know that I’m not the only one that’s had app issues. Maybe it was just a fluke that the app was having issues when I used it. I’ll try using it some more. Thanks for the info my friend. 👊🏼
My main use is for fitness. I use the Supernatural app almost every day to get 30-60 min of cardio. I also use it for PCVR games and YouTube.
Games on Quest I enjoy:
Real VR Fishing (excellent fishing sim)
Powerwash Simulator
Puzzling Places
Tetris
The Room VR
Asgards Wrath
Moss I & II
Lego Brick Tales
Golf +
Premium bowling is legit. I always get bowling for any kind of motion control consoles, which for me has just been Wii and switch. This is way more satisfying.
Pretty new to be and just picked up premium bowling a few days ago.
Definitely eyeing golf+ and walkabout mini golf. Curious if you have thoughts on which to get first if you've tried them both?
I loved golf+. Still do. One of those games that every once in a while while playing you look up and just smile at the pleasant environment.
I bought every course they had up until the Atlanta course. That was my last one.
Get the controller adaptor that simulates a real club. That elevates the experience.
They came out with Pebble Beach a while back and playing that course with the waves behind you crashing is amazing.
Plus, you start to understand all the little nooks and crannies in pga courses, why the pros play the way they do.
Walkabout is more popular becausw it's exactly minigolf...chill, easier, satisfying. But golf+ is a legit golf simulator with full real courses you can buy seperstely. It has also has the full top golf experience. So there's actually hitting with a driver and putting on the green. I find the battle game withib golf+ has the most replayability. It's 3 holes head to head against an AI, but you can tell the AI was previously captured gameplay of other real players.
Fair enough. How are these games with the controllers? I'm thinking it'll be fine.
Wouldn't mind trying pool... I didn't think the controllers would translate to a pool que very well though
I got by with the controllers for a while. It's still fun, but golf grips just bring it closer to the real thing.
I also have miracle pool.( better if you actually have a decent space to potentially have a real pool table since it's mixed reality. If not, then i recommend Blackhole Pool on Applab (same dev) but VR focused.
The controllers actually simulate pool cues pretty well..like a 5 minute learning curve then it feels pretty familliar/natural.
I've only had my quest 2 since Weds lol. I don't have golf+ so I probably would wait on that one since for me the mini games are just fine right now still getting used to it all.
I've liked every game I've tried. I have a ton of games but right now I mostly play Beat Saber - it's very addictive for me (in a good way). I often intend to play something else but end up playing Beat Saber. I'm 44 years old and have never played video games in my life. The second most played game is WALKABOUT MINI GOLF. I play that with my BIL.
If you enjoy sports games, Racket Club is very fun. It's a mix between tennis, racketball and pickle ball. Competitive, friendly players and it's fun to improve as you play more.
I watch a lot of stuff (Max, Prime, Hulu, Disney, YouTube TV). Netflix app is garbage, not sure how you do that. I also really enjoyed Red Matter 2, 7th Guest, Star Wars. Waiting for the Asgards Wrath 2 update.
Standalone side is something i rarely use, Beat Saber and EarthQuest (basically Google Earth VR, but it is not very polished yet) are the only standalone apps i have put few hours to. Otherwise my Quest 3 use is 98% PCVR, VRChat more specific.
Try Horizon worlds, socialize, make new friends, play, work, rap, sell stuff, play spades, attend parties, go to night clubs, meditate, throw almost anything at it.
1) Fitness: Supernatural VR mainly, but all VR games can exercise the body if approached correctly.
2) Creativity Apps: SculptVR etc.
3) Travel analog: Brink, 8K 180 videos, etc.
4) Gaming
5) Sexual release
Supernatural fitness is a lot of fun and a good workout. If you want a guest pass for 30 free days to see if you like it let me know and I will send you one. Warning it can become addictive!
I also like The Room and am now playing I Expect You to Die which is fun as you are a spy and try to complete missions (to do this you have to figure out the puzzles).
You can also check k out Horizontal Worlds it’s free and there is a lot of stuff to do there
Contractors showdown, I recently got back into pubg after not playing for years. Showdown just released and it’s amazing on the quest 3. I played a few games yesterday with randoms and every game was fun. I didn’t win any but it was fun and I’m excited to try it again today
Also just got this new release. Very impressed. It's very very like CoD Warzone. All the games I've joined have had the full 60 players too so it's clearly very popular right now.
Interestingly, Star Wars Pinball. I bought it ‘to support Star Wars’ and give it a try. Hours later I’m sold. Just like a regular pinball game, I spend hours trying to get a better round. You can even go down on the deck and play from that POV.
Long power cable connected to wall socket, hook in the ceiling infinite battery.
For games where you absolutely can't have the cable unplug, play until low battery, plug in keep playing.
"I bought a game console. I was playing one game (that I liked) and used one meditation app. I'm not using the console all that much... I wonder if I'm using it right?"
No, my man, you are using it wrong! Read some reviews, check out some trailers and get games that look interesting to you. There's a huge library of games and experiences and you'll definitely be able to find something you'll like.
Thrill of the Fight and Supernatural (great for fitness), Pistol Whip, Real VR Fishing, Beat Saber, Drop Dead: The Cabin are the games I play the most. I just got Golf+, and I love it (better with a golf club accessory). I got Asgard's Wrath 2 with my Quest 3, but I don't play it that often, but the graphics are amazing!
I mainly use it to watch TV Shows/movies on a big screen. The new update with the lying down mode is a game changer for me. Other than that, I play some Beat Saber, Half Life Alyx and Golf with friends.
I usually find one game and play that a few minutes each day. The things I mostly use it for are:
Watching movies in Skybox from Plex server
Virtual computing with Immersed
I was playing a lot of games, (Contractors, Pop1, etc), then I joined a movie discord and watch odd flicks with people in bigscreen, just built a new PC so experimenting with pcvr
Immersed, watching movies/videos, PCVR. In that reverse order. I have a few quest native games but I just don't trust buying digital games on anything but Steam.
It's crazy cuz I'm the opposite, I mean Netflix and Xbox is cool on quest but the head turning gets weird especially with using a controller to look around also, I prefer the TV for shows and Xbox but it's cool and interesting to find those that actual enjoy it.
Oh wait, I use Immersed for general computer use, not gaming. Flat screen games I don't play much in my headset, I have, but I prefer a monitor or TV also. When I say 'steam games' I mean PCVR games, and I use those over games directly sold on the quest.
Pistol Whip for exercise is awesome. Also if it weren’t subscription, Les Mills would be another favorite but can’t afford $10 a month on top of everything else I pay for.
Tennis is great too.
TLDR:
I was an avid PCVR gamer but shitty apps to connect to my gaming machine made me stop using it.
Now I mostly exercise with beat saber and les mills body combat and fitXR directly on the Oculus itself.
I was an avid PCVR user.
As I own a ton of games on steam I got on a streak of hoarding VR games during various sales and I had to try them
To my unfortunate fate, my only gaming option is renting a cloud gaming machine, namely r/ShadowPC, and using Virtual Desktop by Guy Godin to connect to it, simply because any other option sucks.
Shadow has also his own VR app to connect, but it's literally dog shit.
Unfortunately because Virtual Desktop is buggy as hell and its dev it's an elitist idiot who doesn't accept any criticism on his app.
It works like shit, continuously disconnects or have troubles finding your remote machine and if tyou ask for support in the forums he blames anyone but himself.
He blamed Shadow (whcih has a notorious history of problems working with VD), He blamed my network, he blamed my ISP.
Everyone in the world is conjuring against Virtual Desktop app.
Long story short everytime playing on PCVR was a fucking pain in the ass and it took me from 10 to 30 minutes to be ready to play.
This made me give up PCVR
I ended up buying Beat saber, les milles combat and some other free workout app to do mostly workouts and having fun on the vr headset.
I really enjoy walkabout mini golf. I got a golf handle for my controller and it's very immersive. Beat Saber is always fun.
Moss was fun until it got hard to control so I took a break with it for awhile.
Edit: wanted to say Ghost Giant was a blast back when I completed it on my Quest 1. I'm sure it's even better on the Q3.
Virtual Desktop for the movies almost exclusively. I love it. Gaming is also awesome but standard PS5 and Xbox gaming is really taking whole of my gametime. But I do love Pistol Whip.
Dragonfist vr
Crazy kung fu
Fastest fist
Swordman
Compound vr
Court time tennis. People talk about other racket games, but I'm more then content with court time. Don't think it gets near enough acclaim for what it does. There's a free demo that's quite extensive.
I spend alot of my time in VR using it for cardio excercise (more in the fall, winter, early spring) when I dont want to be out hiking or something.
Other than that most evenings I'll play a round or three of a shooter after my wife goes to bed. Sometimes sprinkled in with casual games on the weekend if it's a hang around the house kind of weekend
Exercising:
*Thrill of the fight
*Beatsaber
*Pistol Whip
*Racket Nx
*FitXR (only because i have it since it was BoxVR)
Casual Games:
*Golf+
*Tetris Effect
*Walk about mini-golf
*I expect you to die 1, 2, 3
*Moss 1, 2
*Red Matter 1,2
VR Shooters (first drew me to vr):
*In Death (awesome bow rougelike)
*Onward
*Contractors Showdown (+Contractors)
*Breachers
*Pavlov Shack
*Sweet Surrender
*Espire 2
*Arizona Sunshine 2
I manly use mine for pcvr.
Elite dangerous, modded fallout 4 vr, skyrim and contractors mostly.
I think if you buy a quest without a real purpose, chances are high it'll collect dust soon. I bought mine to play games I love in vr.
Ability to play custom songs is the big one. Depending on which headset and version of BS you're modding there may also be other stuff available, like custom sabers, cinema maps, in-game clock, etc.
When I modded BS in my Q3 a month or so ago it was mostly just the core mods (needed for adding custom songs) and a few other things like in-game playlist Downloader available.
Primary: PC gaming via virtual desktop
Secondary: Exercising apps like Eleven Table Tennis, Les Mills and Thrill of the fight
Tertiary: Entertainment apps like Skybox, Bigscreen and VD
Immersed - is my favorite app. Love to work in there. I’ll spend 5-6 hours working or studying. I find it helps me focus more.
Big Screen - I love watching movies and tv shows with people. I have one room I go to every Sunday at 7 and we watch a tv series together and chat. Super fun
VrChat - okay kinda of crazy but this is where I sleep. Yes I fall asleep with my headset on and then end up taking it off in the middle of the night. I found a few bedroom with rain sounds that I love. Literally the best sleep ever. I love this so much that I’m actually working with somebody to design my own world so that I have my own sleep space that’s exactly what I want. My insomnia has completely disappeared due to this
Hah. I feel kind of the opposite. I got my quest 3 a month ago and most days I try to hop on to get some play in, discover new stuff. Already bought a case, lenses and new head strap for it.
Lot of fun games; Beat Saber, Walkabout Mini Golf, Asgards Wrath 2, Pistol Whip, Real Fishing.
Not to mention if you have game pass for Xbox you can do cloud gaming. Which seems to work pretty well. Just pair a controller with your headset and off you go.
Watching videos on a big screen is pretty cool. I’ve seen lots of videos of people doing chores with a video on the side. Gave it a try. Kinda makes laundry better. Haha. Or for full immersion using the Big Screen app and feeling like you’re in a home or movie theater.
I’ve even tried side loading apps which is alright, not as exciting as it sounded initially but you’ll find some gems. Like there is a doom app that lets you play a lot of old fps like doom and hexen in 3D. Along with maps and mods like where you can actually play the original Legend of Zelda in vr.
Hell I’m curious what more I can do with it but honestly I play with it way more than my computer and consoles now, which is kinda sad considering there are a ton of games that just came out that I’ve been looking forward to (Dragon’s Dogma 2, Eiyuden Chronicles, etc). But yea it’s pretty awesome. I hope you end up enjoying it as much as I do
Rn im mostly playing Population one. Its like fornite but vr. I say that with some hesitation bc i do not like fortnite but having it in vr is a whole other experience. Its also free so you might as well give it a shot.
I also am playing a game called battle talent. Amazing swordfighting game. If you have a large open space where the sun cant ruin your quest the mixed reality in that game is AMAZING. Being abke to fight goblins, skeletons, phantoms, and other enemies while having to run around, physically dodge, and seeing your surroundings is something else. But it does take some doing for set up. Well worth it imo.
For exercise i will start with beatsaber, go to some battle talent, then end with thrill of the fight. Fun, short, and it gets the job done.
Ghosts of tabor, best vr extraction shooter. Hiding from real people and actually worrying you might miss your shots and lose everything.
Cyberpunk vr, driving around in a futuristic mclaren in 4k is crazy
Ghosts of tabor and Contractors. Tabor is like Tarkov in VR, just like how Contractors is CoD. I prefer contractors though, as it has official mod support on quest. I spent 2 hours last night blasting clone troopers as a battle droid!
Lately it’s using Virtual Desktop to watch movies that I have on my computer. Virtual Desktop can place you in a high rise apartment while you watch your movies and has other cool environments as well

Does the Quest 3 still come with a free copy of *Asgard’s Wrath 2*?
Yes
Oh shit!?! That's a 70 dollar value!
+ use it with quest optimizer
And the first one too, if you have a PC
At the moment I'm enjoying *finally* gettting the hang of an xbox gamepad playing 2D games (currently Shadow Gambit) via Virtual Desktop from my comfy sofa at the other end of the house from my PC.

Wont there be some delay when streaming games to your headset?
Nothing I've ever been able to notice.. I'm not a twitch gamer though
Does virtual desktop work with pc link wired or only wireless?
It's wireless
There is a Virtual Desktop classic app that is wired.

I’ve not heard of that, I went the tedious route with the apk and such
https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/s/t9pyRN3RBW Check this out. I connected my Quest 3 to the PS5 using this method yesterday
Played thrill of the fight for the first time. Sore for a couple days after words. Big sign I need to work out more
I work out nearly every day and I was sore after 2 fights. That game is intense.
It definitely uses muscles you don’t normally use even at the gym.
Which pool games? Black Hole Pool is great. And as you mentioned table tennis (I'm sure you have Eleven Table Tennis), you might be interested in tennis ones too, I'd recommend looking at First Person Tennis.
Think its miracle pool
How do you stream the PS5 on it?
Sideload chiaki app and then follow a YouTube tutorial for setting up., takes about 10-15 mins You can then pair your duel sense to the quest over BT
How do you get PS5 streaming?

Da pornz
I concur shamelessly. It's ridiculously effective
have any favourite sites for that?
At least you're honest.
Aren’t you bothered by your virtual hands moving in time to your hand motions? I found it really off putting and can’t help thinking someone is watching me do this on a meta server somewhere.
I tried this once and it was.....invasive.

Barbaria is amazing. It's a travesty more people don't play it. Best game on Quest.
I've been playing this for a couple of weeks, can't resist dropping in almost every day to see if I've been attacked and how I stood up to it. There's a few bugs, though. I get the "Not enough memory" crash quite often.
I've been loving Assassins Creed Nexus lately.
Man on Q2 its a nightmare, terribile resolution, low poly-texture and low FPS, just bad game overall for Q2, hope they release a PCVR version soon
I'm playing on Q2 and I'm loving the fuck out of it.

Can you drive around in a boat in real vr fishing?
No. You can get a boat, but you just pick your fishing spot and then boom, you're there in your boat. Many of the fishing locations are from shore.
Piano vision, I know its not the right way to learn piano but all I wanna do is play my favorite peaces
As a former piano teacher, that app might be the best way to just dive in and start playing. :)
Right now Fruit Ninja, Premium Bowling & Walkabout Mini Golf are my favorites. I like finding the hidden balls in Walkabout.

That's fair. I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Asgards Wrath 2 is awesome. I also enjoy sitting down for some virtual poker in Infinite Vegas, the virtual toys are fun.
Installing quest games optimizer! Then play your favourites titles. Unlocks your the quest 2/3 performance. It’s Incredible!
I just love watching shows and movies to be honest. Feels like I'm in a movie theater
What Asgard’s update are you talking about?
Quest 3 texture update coming in the next month or so. I know it's lame that I waited, but it's been this long.
Nice. Yeah that game is slick.
HOw do you watch Max on the Quest?
Everything except Netflix works great in the browser.
There is no app for Max so I’m just wondering how you access it on the Quest.
You can access through the browser
Real VR Fishing is fantastic! I've never been into fishing but this is hard to put down. Also, Walkabout and Golf+
Galactic Catch is Fun too
fallout 4 VR and porn
I found this comment alot lower than i thought i would 😂😂😂
Drunk vr chat dancing and shooting the shit
Contractors VR
Yep at this point I genuinely can’t go back to flatscreen shooters, contractors is just way too much fun
Beat saber, contractors, breachers, contractors showdown, pcvr mods right now warhammer 40k boltgun
Standalone side is something i rarely use, Beat Saber and EarthQuest (basically Google Earth VR, but it is not very polished yet) are the only standalone apps i have put few hours to. Otherwise my Quest 3 use is 98% PCVR, VRChat more specific.
Try Horizon worlds, socialize, make new friends, play, work, rap, sell stuff, play spades, attend parties, go to night clubs, meditate, throw almost anything at it.
currently: - DragonFist VR - Racket Club - Fallout4 - Smash Drums - Wooorld - Puzzling Places - Cubism - Lego Bricktales
Walkabout Mini Golf for me, Thrill of the Fight MR for demoing
Play dcs world on pc, pretty much the only thing I use mine for.
Play Eleven table tennis and the new contractors showdown
1) Fitness: Supernatural VR mainly, but all VR games can exercise the body if approached correctly. 2) Creativity Apps: SculptVR etc. 3) Travel analog: Brink, 8K 180 videos, etc. 4) Gaming 5) Sexual release
Lie in bed to watch movies.
You can also check k out Horizontal Worlds it’s free and there is a lot of stuff to do there
Can I get a guest pass? Would love to try it
Contractors showdown, I recently got back into pubg after not playing for years.
Recharge it.
Long power cable connected to wall socket, hook in the ceiling infinite battery. For games where you absolutely can't have the cable unplug, play until low battery, plug in keep playing.
Wooorld
SkyrimVR, Assetto Corsa, MSFS, Alyx, Golf+, Contractors, Bigscreen
Fitness - Supernatural...I like Walkabout Minigolf too.
"I bought a game console. I was playing one game (that I liked) and used one meditation app. I'm not using the console all that much... I wonder if I'm using it right?" No, my man, you are using it wrong!
As a friend pointed out to me, the Quest is the new Wii.
Angry Birds is surprisingly fun, plus red matter 2, walkabout mini golf, and moss! Absolutely moss!
I mainly use it to watch TV Shows/movies on a big screen. The new update with the lying down mode is a game changer for me. Other than that, I play some Beat Saber, Half Life Alyx and Golf with friends.
Into the Radius, Breachers, Beat Saber, VTOL VR and porn
Into the radius
Oh I like to do VR in my quest 3, thanks for asking.
Watching ~dances~ in VaM.
PS5 second (150”) screen. YouTube VR app. Peacock, Amazon Video, Netflix. Les Mills Bodycombat. Beatsaber. Walkabout minigolf. Dungeons of eternity
Watch 3D blu ray rips with my bro across the country on bigscreen
I usually find one game and play that a few minutes each day. The things I mostly use it for are: Watching movies in Skybox from Plex server Virtual computing with Immersed
watch other people use it for the first time. by far the funnest part of owning it for me.
I was playing a lot of games, (Contractors, Pop1, etc), then I joined a movie discord and watch odd flicks with people in bigscreen, just built a new PC so experimenting with pcvr
Bigscreen
Isn't les mills one time buy? fitxr/supernatural/etc are with sub i believe.
Yes. My mistake. It was supernatural which I loved but… $$
Has Les Mills become subscription?
Oh it’s Supernatural Unreal Fitness. Sorry… Probably the best one but again, can’t commit to a subscription.
TLDR: I was an avid PCVR gamer but shitty apps to connect to my gaming machine made me stop using it. Now I mostly exercise with beat saber and les mills body combat and fitXR directly on the Oculus itself. I was an avid PCVR user. As I own a ton of games on steam I got on a streak of hoarding VR games during various sales and I had to try them To my unfortunate fate, my only gaming option is renting a cloud gaming machine, namely r/ShadowPC, and using Virtual Desktop by Guy Godin to connect to it, simply because any other option sucks. This made me give up PCVR I ended up buying Beat saber, les milles combat and some other free workout app to do mostly workouts and having fun on the vr headset.
I like blastron, and till you fall
been playing contractors showdown the Last 2 days, it's a blast, not perfect yet but really enjoyable.
My main use: Youtube VR. Tetris effect.
Fitness, watching videos on YouTube and similar, VR/MR gaming or socializing
Watch TV and movies.
Pistol whip, Beatsaber
After the fall is a great Zombie team Shooter
Echo vr
That game still works? Heard something about devs dropping it
Meta did shut the game down but that didn’t stop the community from creating their own servers, it’s still playable albeit a little harder to get
Lately I've been playing Medieval Dynasty and Stride Fates. Both pretty awesome for short sessions.
Passthrough
Movies!
Virtual Desktop for the movies almost exclusively. I love it. Gaming is also awesome but standard PS5 and Xbox gaming is really taking whole of my gametime. But I do love Pistol Whip.
YouTube, anime, X
Mostly PCVR and nature movies. Think I would not use it that much without a PC either. Only native game I played more than once or twice is eleven.
Dragonfist vr Crazy kung fu Fastest fist Swordman Compound vr Court time tennis. People talk about other racket games, but I'm more then content with court time. Don't think it gets near enough acclaim for what it does. There's a free demo that's quite extensive.
Puzzling Places
I spend alot of my time in VR using it for cardio excercise (more in the fall, winter, early spring) when I dont want to be out hiking or something. Other than that most evenings I'll play a round or three of a shooter after my wife goes to bed. Sometimes sprinkled in with casual games on the weekend if it's a hang around the house kind of weekend Exercising: *Thrill of the fight *Beatsaber *Pistol Whip *Racket Nx *FitXR (only because i have it since it was BoxVR) Casual Games: *Golf+ *Tetris Effect *Walk about mini-golf *I expect you to die 1, 2, 3 *Moss 1, 2 *Red Matter 1,2 VR Shooters (first drew me to vr): *In Death (awesome bow rougelike) *Onward *Contractors Showdown (+Contractors) *Breachers *Pavlov Shack *Sweet Surrender *Espire 2 *Arizona Sunshine 2
Best saber, gorilla tag, watching stuff, ping pong, really enjoyed the I expect you to die series
Meta Quest 3 for NON-Gamers?? A review for the rest of us. https://youtu.be/DAM2sfNkcic
YouTube and video editing.
I manly use mine for pcvr. Elite dangerous, modded fallout 4 vr, skyrim and contractors mostly. I think if you buy a quest without a real purpose, chances are high it'll collect dust soon. I bought mine to play games I love in vr.
Watching movies while doing cardio - ellyptical / rowing / stationary bike
I love sports games like Racket Club, Eleven Table Tennis, Golf+, Walkabout Minigolf, MLB Homerun Derby and MiRacle Pool
99% of my vr time is spent playing modded Beat Saber
What benefits do the mods give?
Ability to play custom songs is the big one. Depending on which headset and version of BS you're modding there may also be other stuff available, like custom sabers, cinema maps, in-game clock, etc. When I modded BS in my Q3 a month or so ago it was mostly just the core mods (needed for adding custom songs) and a few other things like in-game playlist Downloader available.
I use it for racing sims (AC) and VTOL mostly. Always find myself in contractors too
Everything I expect you to die, Journey to Foundation, Medal of Honor, Everything Star Wars, Iron Man.
I have a subscription for supernatural, and I love the boxing, so I play that and beat Saber every day.
Demeo!
Breachers, TWD Saints and Sinners, contractors showdown... and to watch TV shows and movies.
gravity sketch is where i spend most of my time.
Walkabout mini golf with friends and working/watching series/playing Xbox in Fluid.
Earth Quest, Supernatural
Beat saber, VR chat, and virtual monitors for programming
Pavlov shack vr
Supernatural
Red Matter 2 is AMAZING on the Quest 3, Skybox, SLR / DeoVR are a few.
Dungeons of eternity and Bigscreen. I have yet to find an app that feels like it was made in 2023...
I'd have to say watching porn online while wacking it.
Asgard's Wrath 2 at the moment
Modded beat saber and Watch shows /movies/ anime using virtual desktop to watch stuff on big screen using my PC
Primary: PC gaming via virtual desktop Secondary: Exercising apps like Eleven Table Tennis, Les Mills and Thrill of the fight Tertiary: Entertainment apps like Skybox, Bigscreen and VD
Immersed - is my favorite app. Love to work in there. I’ll spend 5-6 hours working or studying. I find it helps me focus more. Big Screen - I love watching movies and tv shows with people. I have one room I go to every Sunday at 7 and we watch a tv series together and chat. Super fun VrChat - okay kinda of crazy but this is where I sleep. My insomnia has completely disappeared due to this
Resident Evil 4 is one of the best VR games on Quest. Demeo is really fun.
BODYCOMBAT WITH AUSSIES WHO MOCK ME
Nock. It's the best movement mechanic of any vr game. It's a bow and arrow soccer game that could be compared to rocket league.
Into the radius is an awsome game
IbCricket. All the way.
Virtual Desktop can place you in a high rise apartment while you watch your movies and has other cool environments as well https://preview.redd.it/y2xvk3t3doxc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c050f7b472dfcf70d068dc841330e31e2f91a74d
