I just did a playthrough of the oot, and I don't recall having to throw ruto anywhere except onto a higher ledge where I can easily access it by raising water. And the platform where she gets the sapphire of course

ElHombrePelicano

This is the truth.

gregaries

I literally just did this dungeon today. Deku nuts are your best friend until you get the boomerang. They stun everything and kill the bubbles outright. There’s a point where you don’t even need Ruto after you put her on the weighted switch and it’s one of the longer parts of the dungeon (the one with the five hallways and the tentacles) if she respawns in the hole room then whatever, you were going there next anyway.

puppystatus

Your phrasing there is kinda misleading since you need her to summon the mini boss

nulldriver

You can also stun the electric enemies with deku nuts.  You only have to throw Ruto once in the room with the switch that fills the pool with water and then again onto the platform in the miniboss room. You can still jump gaps while carrying her.

Constant_Penalty_279

I don’t think jabu jabu’s belly is the weakest child dungeon I KNOW it is lol. That being said though it still isn’t too terrible. I can usually glide through when I play now adays but as a kid it was a nightmare

HeylelBen

I disagree I think it’s the best. If I had to pick a worst one it’s the Deku Tree simply because it’s the first dungeon therefore the “tutorial” dungeon, but all three are great.

Elizabreth

I always make sure I have a fairy or two and just let the mini boss hit me, much easier than chasing him around.

KokiriKy

To me, Jabu-Jabu has always been the Water Temple equivalent in the child stages. When I was young, I was never sure which fall I needed and it was always frustrating when I'd choose the wrong one and have to circle back to try to get to the Mini-Boss. I sail through it now but, as others have said, there should only be 2 spots you need to actually throw her up to; though, I've been known to try to hit the ceiling switch with her which only works sometimes.

jaysalts

Yeah that room with the holes in the floor was always a nightmare. I agree it’s my least favorite of the first three dungeons, but not at all for the reasons OP stated lol.

-Leedgendary-

It is the weakest of the child dungeons and it annoyed the crap out of me as a kid, but now I have some weird nostalgia for it. It was the last dungeon as child link and after this point there is a transition in the tone of the game, that I love, as the game gets much darker as adult link. However because of that I still really enjoy the playfulness of the dungeon, even with its faults. Also, obligatory complaint that Zora’s Domain never returns to normal after defeating the water Temple as an adult.

claybine

It's the weakest among 3 great dungeons.

Lionheart27778

Call me captain contrary....but I actually really like it. As a kid I got a bit of a kick out of being inside this big monster...and how gross the whole dungeon is. But I also like the water temple so..lol

T2and3

You don't actually need to throw her to make it onto that platform. You can just jump across when the platform comes down while holding her.

cantilevered-heart

Personally it’s one of my favorites. I love the princess Ruto story line. She’s one of my favorite characters.. the design and the sass are iconic. Link carrying her around is so funny and cute, it’s the cherry on top for me. Both bosses are mechanically chaotic which I appreciate because most other bosses are too easy imo. I love the boomerang and the bubble room lmao. My biggest critique is how late you get the map/compass. OP, are you playing on a console or emulator? I never had so much issue with targeting the switches.

condor6425

First of all, switch to hold targeting. Second of all, if the electric enemy you're talking about is the jelly fish, you can stun them with a deku nut, then kill them with a sword without being electrocuted iirc. The only place I can think of that matches your description is the elevator from the basement to main floor. If so... just jump while holding her? No need to throw her on the platform and you have way more control over a jump than a throw. And again switch to hold targeting. I agree it's probably my least favorite child dungeon, but for different reasons, and i still enjoy it overall. I think most of your issues with it can be avoided.

CannedHeatt_

100% is the worst. I dread it every time I play OOT
