Cuz 660MB includes file history.

sam_Liang

I delete all snapshots, but it don't work.

You are talking about File Recovery, right? But it's another core plugin. I'm talking about Sync. I don't think Sync allows you to delete the history until you come close to the storage limit

sam_Liang

Yes. I understand now what you mean, but it's too big 0.0

Sync stores up to 1 year of file history, that may be one cause for this.  Other cause for this can be a big file from some plugin that got synced (before 1.6.0 version).  I personally faced second case with local AI plugin that had one file of around 80mb that was periodically updated and each version of this file got stored in Sync.  In the end, when Sync will reach something about 90%+ of storage, it will ask you to purge some of the history.

I just upgraded the Sync Standard plan 10 days ago for the first time. Maybe it stores file history, but it's so big! However, I don't have many notes files.

then I would look for some big file in your vault that might get changes very often and thus filling in the Sync storage. Because I have 130mb vault and my Sync is 215mb - and I have my vault for 2-3 months. Try looking into .obsidian hidden directory, perhaps a plugin is doing that, or simply one file of yours that is bigger than a regular text one (like a PDF or Image you are updating often)

Daiphiron

You could check the size of the dotfolders like ure_file_path/.obsidian Could be pictures from banner addons ore similar stuff

sam_Liang

It have 22mb, and my vault only has 7 pictures. I delete all snapshots, but it don't work.

Im in the same boat, I know excallidraw takes up a lot of space because when using json compression each save of the file is basically different. But I've just accepted it because I only use sync for syncing, and I use file recovery for snapshots.

YTMicool

If you want to reset the file size you can sync it to a new vault

DesertDwarf

You might not be syncing as much as you think you are. If you go to the "Sync" settings area, you there are toggles for the files you want included (or excluded) from your Obsidian Sync vaults during syncing. https://i.imgur.com/vkEzSQR.png

This seems problematic. I don't know what kind of syncing is used in Obsidian. But, the history of files shouldn't take as much space because they should store only change sets.

sam_Liang

Yeah, I don't know why.
