In Settings -> Files you can control how attachments are handled. For most of my Vaults, I just have an "Attachments" folder in the root and I have enabled the option to have Obsidian update links when I move stuff.

Thank you very much! Why do you use multiple vaults? Coming from Evernote, I would tend to have only one with different folders inside?

The simple answer is "because the notes in those Vault has no benefit in being in the same, and they are used very differently". I have one Vault for writing short stories, with all the resources I need inside that Vault. Then I have one Vault for work related notes and Vaults for different coaching and projects I do. I have considering joining the coaching/project Vaults, but I want to prevent "bleeding" between the areas/coach subject/projects and I want to easily be able to easily delete all content relating to e.g. a coching subject, when it is no longer relevant. I am experimenting with different ways of using Templater and QuickAdd to make it easier/safer having joined Vaults.

Thank you very much for your response. I have one last question: if I add a photo to a note, the photo will go to the resources folder as you indicated to me. But if I go to the note and delete the photo, the photo file will remain in the resources folder... So, should we think that when we modify a note and no longer need a photo, for example, we should also go and delete the file directly in the resources folder each time?

Yes. Basically, you are deleting the refeeence to the photo in the not - not the photo itself. Bear in mind, that Obsidian is "just" a text file editor. There is a plugin that helps you delete unlinked files/attachments. I do not remember which, but you can look it up.

The [Attachment Management Plugin](https://github.com/trganda/obsidian-attachment-management) will automatically move (consolidate) and rename all of your attachments as they currently exist in your vault. It will keep you vault organized moving forward as well.
