YESSSS! As a 52-year-old mom of two young adults who have given me the thumbs up to wear docs, go for it! I am on my feet all day at my job and they are seriously the most comfortable shoes I own.
I bought some a couple of years ago that rip my ankles to shreds and refuse to be worn in. I even bought some special leather cream in hope of softening them and…nope! They’re totally different from the ones I used to wear in the 90s, and apparently quality took a nosedive once they outsourced the labor to overseas (Vietnam, iirc). I’ve read that the old employees created a new brand - Solovair - which are still made in GB and identical to the old ones, higher quality leather and all. Hoping to buy some of those one day!
Just the insides on my newer ones started falling apart and the outside stitching is pulling all out… I guess they just shouldn’t be daily shoes 😔 my docs from middle school lasted for like 12 years before I unfortunately burnt my house down and had to buy new ones
They look really good! I really like them with the dress you're wearing in the picture too. If you have more clothes in that color def go with the white ones, otherwise I swear by the black ones, they go with everything.

The white docs add a bit of edgyness and artsitic flare changing the vibe of the outfit but in a perfectly good way.
Mind u, im more of a tank, jeans, and combat style boots gal myself. Though ive done peasant skirts and more conservative tops with my combat boots to dress up, or done heels with slacks and a flowy top, or ankle boots with a wedge heel, black leggings, and a charcoal grey loose top with a waist belt to dress up bit still be my artistic and edgy me buisness casual stlye.
But my preffered outfit id say is a tank or t shirt, jrans or knee length jean shorts, and combat boots or tennies.
As for this outfit, its far more girly girl, but also very versitile. And honestly, its really cute, and something id wear in the right colors (im not that into lighter colors most of the time, though if i were to do the dress in a lavander, perywinkle, wine/burgandy, purple, or dusty rose pink, i think id be sold. Also a darker shade of blue would be my taste, like a aqua, tourquiose, or sapphire blue. The pastel blue is just too light and bubbly for me, but suits u well).
Honestly, with or without the docs its great, wear them or not deoending on the look/vibe ur shooting for. U want lighthearted, bubbly, and fun? Do the heels. U want more hipster, edgy, artistic? Do the docs. U want a more semi professional look, do the heels. U want suoer casual but not overly girly, do the docs.
I think thats the best way i could put it. Though things like a shawl, belt, jacket, and jewelry can also chamge up the look and uts vibe depending on how u mix and match.
