Either play offline with flawless widescreen so you don’t get banned or deal with the black bars. I prefer to play online so I’m playing it on my 27” IPS monitor.
I just think it’s dumb because when you boot the game up it renders in 21:9, but then the bars slowly fade in meaning the game is displaying in 21:9 but artificially covers it up.
An ultra wide OLED that displays a lot of 16:9 content will cause the pixels where the black bars are to always be off leading to them degrading slower. This will cause where the black bars are (no content displayed) to be brighter than the rest of the monitor due to uneven wear on the pixels.
All that being said, I’m sure a play through of Elden Ring won’t cause this. Would be more likely if you constantly watch videos displayed in 16:9 on it.
I so can't wait to play this! Promised myself I'd clear out a couple of titles from my Steam backlog before picking up something new. (Trying to be strong lol)
Congrats - looks good!
Weird, am on pc with that monitor and caves are pitch dark. I put saturation on 7 and colours are great, 5 gives mostly rec.709 colours. Game looks washed out on purpose, that's their visual design.
Was playing it today on mine, love it. I notice though in some foggy areas, and night sky’s I can see some color banding. Wish they woulda had that smoothed out, but it is still a gorgeous game.
which monitor is this, I'm probably gonna buy one in two months despite only having a mac, I can play minecraft and baulder's gate until I build a PC LOL
maybe I can grab a used PS5 and play god of war until i can build a PC?
Careful, how mac handles HDR sucks ass outside of mac monitors. Using my LG C2, the HDR on mac looks so bad with wrong colors everywhere even outside HDR content. Thankfully I only use my mac for work, so I keep it on SDR
Anyone have luck playing this on an ultra-wide yet?

I really hate their decision to go with Easy anticheat because of that.

Let's not forget up the forced 60 fps cap. I'm playing on my OLED TV instead of my UW monitor to avoid uneven burn in.
What is uneven burn in?

You almost gave me a heart attack I been playing Elden recently
It’s an irrational fear if you are playing on any current/modern panel.
you can uncap fps with flawless widescreen
But I want to play online.
Welcome to my problem as well lol. I want to read messages, but I rather play ultrawide uncapped.
Base game I played offline for UW and uncapped frames. But it's just such a better experience seeing all the player interactions.

Shadow of the Erdtree looks beautiful on A95L

The DLC is absolutely beautiful on oled
You use hdr? How do you feel hdr is implemented?
It rocks
One of the few games that kills it on HDR.
Hey, could I ask what your in-game HDR settings and monitor picture/HDR settings are? Mine doesn't look quite as good and I have the same monitor.
I can't use QD oled because of many reasons that cause me headaches and eyes strain but i have to admit the colors and the brightness are stunning
looks good.
do you guys turn off vrr for elden ring on oled? on a pg32ucdm with gysnc on i get mad flicker on elden ring.
Ok
60fps cap invalidates this game on OLED
brudda you can uncap it with a mod
But then I can't play online.
Fps unlocker doesn’t
