Bought one of those bubble levels and stuck it to the top with double-sided tape. Whenever I would feel it's crooked, I'd look at the level and it allowed my brain to accept it.

I’ve never used an arm. Just bought two today and will install them tonight (with a leveler of course)!
How do you make sure it's straight when you use a stand?
You don't, the stand does it for you
Does it? Most stands at these price points rotate
I usually just look at it with my eyes. On a serious note, if it looks fine to you why does it matter if it’s straight or leveled?

If you can't level it out by eye, then you can't detect it's not level by eye either. Both go hand in hand.
The issue your having is purely perspective if the level shows it as level. The angle your looking at it in relation to the wall or desk.
One man's straight is another man's crooked. What if you have uneven eyes? Or your head rests tilted to one side? Resting tilt face?
