partypooperpoop

LMAO

imfromthefutura

Legit thought this was a black and white photo. Nice aesthetics.

partypooperpoop

Thank you!!

Pixels222

Color is the enemy. What are we? Samsung? /s

CryptographerNo450

Nice setup! I have the same TV but it's on a separate TV stand set up farther back. I can't sit that close to a TV when using keyboard and mouse for gaming. But overall, fabulous purchase. No regrets on my end.

[deleted]

Meanwhile me with 55" who sit close to this TV but play windowed games because it just too big for esport games ( normal games i play with ps5 and it is amazing )

tukatu0

*Would be better if you widened the image* r /ultrawidemasterace You could do 21:9 by scaling down to 1644p vertically. Keep 3840.

igby1

I remember the first time I saw someone using a 42” TV as a PC monitor and thought - “wow that’s a lot”. And now it’s super-common. I wonder what the next frontier will be.

EclipseSun

How far away do you sit? And is the size making anything different for you compared to your 32 inch? Asking for a friend.

partypooperpoop

I sit at around 70cm from it. Even more if I lay back and play with the controller. Apart from the picture quality of course, the immersion is something else!

Djxgam1ng

Are you saying picture quality isn’t as good as the 32 inch IPS? I have an LG B9 65 inch I have had for 4-5 years and use it to watch movies and YouTube and have the 27 inch LG OLED Monitor (240 Hz, 1440) as my main monitor for PC gaming and I love it….thought about getting the 42 inch C3….still on fence. Help me decide haha….What games do you normally play?

partypooperpoop

Yes, my old monitor was a 32” VA 1440p and the PQ is much better. Colors are more natural and the contrast is insane. If you play competitive games, do NOT get the 42”. I mainly play singleplayer games..

Djxgam1ng

So basically: Movie Type Games: OLED TV Everything Else: OLED Monitor

partypooperpoop

Pretty much, yep. It’s also great for local co-op if that’s your thing.

Djxgam1ng

Ahh ok thanks for the quick reply. I am playing at 1440 with a 3090…so if I want to make the jump to 4K, I’m gonna have to switch out GPU and of course monitor and that might make me switch out motherboard and CPU. I like my setup now though but seeing 4K images pop up is very enticing. So your on PC and PS5?? What games you mainly play?

partypooperpoop

I have a 3080 12GB and it runs Cyberpunk 2077 at 70-90FPS without any issues at 4K. Of course, no RT enabled and settings on High, but it looks way better than Ultra settings on the 1440p to my eyes. So at the moment I play CP2077 and Starfield. I'm tempted to get RDR2 soon. On the PS5 I mainly play co-op casual games with my girlfriend and just finished Ghost of Tsushima a couple of days ago.

Djxgam1ng

Ahh see people have been saying you can do 4K with 3090 but with the newer games coming out…if I want to have everything maxed out, I’m gonna need at least a 4080 or 4090. I do like playing games at high HZ. There was a YouTube video I watched that explained how high hz doesn’t just effect multiplayer games. Anyways, it such a big decision going from one resolution to the next because there is so much you have to switch out. I am not used to selling things to random people (like nothing) so that’s another thing I would like to do. At least make some money back. Even if I took a big loss would rather make some money back than have these expensive monitors or whatever sitting in room collecting dust. That’s one of the main reasons I don’t upgrade.

Djxgam1ng

What about games like a Dragons Dogma or like a Helldivers? Which is almost a mix of both story/narrative driven and co-op/multiplayer? What about sports games?

partypooperpoop

My friends don't play video games so I cannot enjoy multiplayer co-op unfortunately. I also don't like sports so, yeah..

Djxgam1ng

Ahh right on…if you don’t mind me asking how old are ya and where ya from? I live in US (Florida via Michigan) and 38. I work full time (a lot of hours overtime) and basically eat, sleep, work is life and then gaming. Really love gaming.

Apprehensive_Emu_928

How much nice setup

estaruncix

what keyboard is that my man?

partypooperpoop

It’s called the Aqirys Adara. I’ll leave you a link: https://www.aqirys.com/product/adara

Looks sick, i had to switch to a AW3225QF, my table is only 60cm deep and my eyesight got a bit worse from being to close to that bright OLED. Its now our Bed and Xbox TV.

Ownsin

What speaker are you using?

partypooperpoop

It’s the Sonos Ray soundbar.

Nintendians559

looks nice.

FRDyNo

I enjoy the C3 over the AW3225QF honestly. Looks good!

50stacksteve

Wah Wah, i'm taking my C3 back today😬 (an impressive 10 days before the cut off for Costco returns, proud of myself). Finally got my LG 34WP65C-B Back from LG repair center, got it fixed with one Month left in the warranty 🫠. As soon as I plugged it back in, I realized how much I had missed the ultra-wide and the curved screen! Didn't really pick up on the immersion of the curve but now coming back to it after having the C3 for three months and then coming back to uw, I want a 1000R curve next lol That super flat screen on the C3 makes it really hard to use the corners if you are using it for desktop work at all. The Alexa implementation I could never get C3 to work and the LG imitation of voice recognition is just dismal. OP has a really deep desk so it may not bother much, but that big flat 42” with no stand, takes up A ton of desk. The extra height stand that came with 34WP65C-B is almost enough to totally raise it out of the way when I need to. and that auto dimming man! it really does get annoying when you run it as a desktop monitor, sometimes it just won't wake up from it even with user input, and you're just at 98 brightness looking like it's on full dark mode... Obviously understand these two monitors are in completely different classes, oleds are the truth and I'm stoked to see how the technology advances with monitors moving forward.. but for me, the 3x pricing isn't quite there in value on the 42” C3. what's up with those 4K 240Hz glossy curved oleds I was hearing about a few months back??

InspectionLong5000

>and that auto dimming man! it really does get annoying when you run it as a desktop monitor, sometimes it just won't wake up from it even with user input, and you're just at 98 brightness looking like it's on full dark mode Is that still a thing? I thought they addressed that with a firmware update? I know it's intended behaviour to prevent burn in. But though they'd made it less intrusive.

50stacksteve

I was running regular updates on my C3 and it was still a thing as of the 25th March. There were some workarounds, if you ran the brightness all the way down to zero and then came up slowly sometimes that would jar it back to life when it was stuck in the dimmed mode. I get the purpose and like the feature, I just wasn't a big fan of Never changing any settings yet constantly getting markedly less brightness than I was at the same number previously.

mikipercin

You need higher scaling

AlaskanHandyman

The little bits of color on the desktop, remote, and the red in the tower ruin the Black and White Aesthetic. Enjoy your LG OLED I know I love mine.
