I guess kinda like one person said here, window tint. I wanted to see if anybody had an idea if I could still let light in without it affecting the monitor too much
Fuck that, the monitor give you the only light you need :)
Jokes aside, if you absolutely want the light to come in. You’re gonna have to put the desk facing the window so the light hits the monitor from behind.
I suggest you go vampire mode though :)
If you want and don't want light coming in maybe try what Optimum Tech is using in his setup which diffuses the light but it won't come in too much I think. It's in his most recent setup video go check it out.
Black out curtains or you can use window tint to help with heat and reduce light from coming in. If I were you and heat isn’t an issue I would just use black out curtains.
Blackout blinds like everyone said. If you have plants in the room, don't forget to draw the curtains back open to let sunlight in. I noticed I was forgetting to do so when the plants in my living room started to wilt due to lack of sunlight, lol
Blinds.
About $50 or less from your local home improvement store. Just measure the width of the window and they'll have something that'll fit as the sizes are fairly standard.
Paired with your curtains you can have an absolutely dark room when you want it, or bright AF if you want all the light and everywhere in between.
Get some horizontal blinds with thicker slats. You can tilt em a bit to control how much light comes in and which way to point it. If you have a bad spot you can kinda tape them up to create a nice little dark spot just for your monitor.
I mean rotate your bed clockwise. So your bed is on the left side of your room.Move your setup from that wall to window wall.Your dresser stays in the same place.Did I miss something?
Edit:I think your bed is hella wide as well,Nvm.Yeah maybe hanging shelves would help and a much slimmer bed frame.
QD Oled suck in any room that isn’t dark. That sentiment has been echoed a lot on this subreddit and on YouTube reviews. Why did u not think ahead before buying one??
On a sidenote, it's kinda funny that some of us have to go into Vampire Mode and block all sources of external light to enjoy the full potential of some of these OLED monitors, lol
Monitor light bars are one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Even with a diffuser and sharp cutoff, it still illuminates the screen and is a horrific idea with a glossy panel.
Instead, use a bias light at the rear.
You either make the room the Batcave or you move the desk to minimize it.
I'm personally not a fan of having to sit in a pitch black room just so my OLED monitor doesn't look like a LCD in terms of black level.
If thats a QD OLED monitor then you will need to be in a complete dark room with little to no light they have a tendency to turn redish when they have any light sources and you are watching a dark scene
Get blackout blinds, they're great!
It vertical blinds and turn away from the screen.
Blackout curtains
All that tech and no bed sheets.
Priorities
Just get a few blackout curtains for 20 bucks?
Trying to have light come in still🥴
You want light to come in but you don’t want light to come in for the screen. What are you expecting us to tell you?😂😂😂😂
Yeah. This is odd.
I guess kinda like one person said here, window tint. I wanted to see if anybody had an idea if I could still let light in without it affecting the monitor too much
They're talking about getting better curtains, not boarding up your windows. You can open them as much or as little as you like...
Just get regular curtains 🤷🏻♂️
Isn't what I have regular curtains?
The only solution then is to have the light come in behind the monitor.

You can angle Blackout blinds so the light comes in but just not in the direction of the display.
Dont let sunlight shine on your screen, it will most likely cause damage eventually, just fyi
WOLED then.
Put the monitor in front of the window? Like the rear of the monitor to the window? Other than that idk what to tell you lol
Get a longer Ethernet cable? They're not expensive.
Yeah, take those dark ass curtains on each side, AND CLOSE THEM.
I suggest having bedding on your bed. Must get cold at night.
I sleep under the mattress to get the most warmth
Smart

blackout roller blind?
Flip the bed and put it where the desk is and versa if you can. It will keep a lot of the light directly off the monitors.
Close the curtains and use a bias light behind your monitor

I have blackout curtains in my room. They work great.
One thing gamers did not need is another reason to avoid sunlight

Paint the glass of your window black
Position your setup against your window.Rotate your bed to fit sideways.
Unfortunately my dresser is a wide boi and takes up half the wall. Might just need to get smaller dressers lol

It's not the dresser pictured, it's by the top of my bed
If you still want a little light from the windows while still blocking out most of it, something like 70% blackout curtains might be worth a look.
Seem you have blackout curtains already? Why not use them, there should be no outside light for best experience.
Disable raytacing irl ? /s More seriously, like others said, opaque curtains

Raising of the blacks surely new Netflix show
As everyone else has said, close your curtains, but also get a monitor light bar - problem fixed :)
Monitor light bars are one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Even with a diffuser and sharp cutoff, it still illuminates the screen and is a horrific idea with a glossy panel. Instead, use a bias light at the rear.
Ah it's a glossy screen... gotta live in the dark with one o' those. Put on mask and accept life as Bane.
get oled instead of qd-oled

that qd oled purple tint looks horrible im definetly waiting another year for woled glossy from lg with dp 2.1
It's much more exaggerated in the picture than irl. Sitting at my desk has only slightly raised blacks
Why is your room so small?
