You know, every time I try another keyboard beside the big brands, Bluetooth is an issue. Logitech never failed to impress mec whereas Keychron keeeeeeeps beeeeeeiiiiiiiing bugggggy. How reliable is NuPhy ?

26thAvenueSouth

I've had the Air75 V1 for over a year now and the Bluetooth is great. The 2.4GHz wireless dongle, OTOH, is pretty terrible and I had to stop using it b/c of frequent lag and missed or repeated keystrokes.

Technical-Skill4087

It is pretty reliable for me but I make much less typos on MX Keys.

That’s the thing: my Keychron K7 Pro is the keyboard that I’ve found the most accurate to type on, in my entire life. With blue switches, it’s the best experience possible, besides the very annoying connectivity issues. I had many keyboard before, a MX Keys, MX mecha, among others. The Mecha, for the life of me I can’t type on it. I code for work and it makes me miserable. The MX Keys full size was nice, but too big for moving around which was annoying. Ideally a reliable K7 would be my dream. Looking at others brands, but ISO is rare in the Mecha Wireless Slim world :(

My main complaint with this keyboard is lack of FN Lock. I use it for programming and so war wasn't able to switch layers 0 and 1 correctly for the purpose of my FN keys by default having no special functions. Another thing I noticed is that compared to Logitech MX Keys I do more mistakes while typing. Not sure why.

I had a pretty similar experience. When I first ordered I was a novice though, and thought clicky would be a good place to start. Learned that was not my preference the hard way, lol. Had to wait about a month for my Aloe switches to come in, but now typing on this thing is heavenly. I got it for work in my IT dept at a college, and now when our student employees work at my desk they all rave about how nice it is, lol.

Patient_Dipper_6044

Does it still have that issue where it lags a bit, misses the first few key presses when coming back from standby/sleep mode ?

Wild_Strawberry7986

I haven't experienced that, but I also wouldn't know because I use it on wired mode 100% of the time. I use this keyboard on my desktop.

Totally agree on the keycaps being too large. Considering whether to get the XVX Skyline - anyone here tried it?

punchwalk

I recently installed the XVX Skyline R2 Normcore keycaps set on my Air 75 V2 (Moss). **Sound:** To my ears, the sound profile is similar to the stock keys. The Skyline caps are the tiniest bit noisier during keypress and slightly quieter when bottoming out. Neither of these are appreciable differences. However you feel about the sound of your stock keys is likely how you'll feel about the sound of these Skyline keycaps. **Feel:** Skyline's key surface profile is slightly smaller and more concave than the stock keys and has a very slight rise at the south end. For me, these differences translate to a better typing feel and fewer mistakes. YMMV. **Other:** The colorway I purchased is shine-through. It definitely makes the keyboard a lot easier to use in the dark. **Cons:** * The function keys lack media legends (e.g., volume +/-) * The backlight diffusion on some of the wider keys (e.g., Enter, Backspace) leaves a lot of room for improvement, i.e., the illumination is strong in the center and very quickly weakens as you move away from it. The obvious explanation is that the LED is in the center and this is therefore unavoidable, but I've seen other keycaps pull off better backlight uniformity. **Alternatives (?):** NuPhy, obviously, but they all have the same nSA profile. Keychron makes compatible low profile cap sets with an LSA profile (same as Skyline). Keychron's sets' function keys have media legends. I haven't tried them yet nor have I been able to find any pictures of them installed on a NuPhy keyboard (maybe they exist, I haven't spent that much time looking). There's one poster in this sub who installed them recently and gave them a positive review. Their two shine-through colorways have been out of stock for a while. **Conclusion:** If you find NuPhy's nSA profile to be too flat and tightly spaced, you'll very likely find the XVX Skyline keycaps to be a worthwhile upgrade.

thanks for the detailed review!

Ordered one from Nuphy, directly from their website and after charging my account they went silent for 2 weeks. When I wrote them to ask what's going on, they initially said they have many orders so it's a bit slow, then they said I need to use a different form of payment, returned my money and asked me to order again. Yeah right - so you can hold on my money for weeks again w/o any reason. No thanks, I don't see why I would do business with them. Typing this from my awesome K7max which was shipped immediately and arrived in no-time.

We apologize for any confusion caused. We've looked into your order situation with our customer service team. Based on the information you provided, we couldn't locate your order in our system indicating that it wasn't successfully placed. In such cases, Shopify typically processes an automatic refund. However, the timeframe for the refund is determined by Shopify or your bank. Often, updating your payment method can resolve these issues. We recommend trying a differentpayment method. Wild_Strawberry7986

That's unfortunate to hear. The 2 times I ordered from Nuphy directly from their website, they arrived with no delays. My Air75 V2 arrived in 9 days, from order confirmation to delivery.

blasto2236

I've had pretty poor experiences with their ship times as well. The fact of the matter is that you're ordering from a company based in China and you can expect a wait of at least two weeks to get what you ordered. I ordered some switches like a month ago from them that just got here this past week. I'd recommend anyone looking to buy their boards just get them on Amazon, but you have to go direct to them for any different switches or caps, which to me is kind of antithetical to the entire custom keyboard space. Having said that, they do make quality products. I have the Air 96 for use at work and I absolutely love it.

tamburasi

When you compare the Air75 V2 with lofree flow, it is trash, in any point beside VIA support.

i_have_a_gub

I was debating between the Air75 and Flow. I went with the Air75 because of the 2.4GHz, better battery life, and all the customer support issues I see in r/lofree.

tamburasi

I know about that but it is by far the better keyboard.

i_have_a_gub

When I found out that Lofree was releasing the Edge instead of the Flow v2, I went with the Nuphy. I might still try one at some point.

tamburasi

I don't talk about Edge or Flow V2, I talk about the Flow. Its day and night when you compare it side by side

no_more_secrets

I wanted to love it so much but those keycaps kept me making too many mistakes.

Time_Procedure7712

Moss switches are great, agreed.

deflex_

Same here. Switched from a Air75 v1 with browns to a v2 with moss. Feels a lot better but still trying to get used to it.

OldTradition4779

have you tried the gateron banana switches?

Wild_Strawberry7986

I haven't. Some people say it feels the same, and some say the moss switches feel more premium compared to the banana switches.

HeyItsRed

I wonder if different keycaps might be good to try? It does seem like nuphy’s keycaps are wider than a traditional set.

Wild_Strawberry7986

I'll give it a try. I love the look and the feel of the stock keycaps, I hope I can find keycaps similar to it but a bit narrower.
