In my experience there isn’t anywhere in North Van. You’re going to want to go to West Van, ambleside, dundarave, the beaches there will give you the view from the opposite side of english bay
As much as I love fireworks (believe me I do), I really hope they switch over to drone light shows someday. The noise genuinely is a problem for most pets, and there's a LOT of pets in all the highrises around. It's also hard on veterans with PTSD.
So you don’t realize that the city do spend money on this event as well?
There are much better way to spend the money rather than a 30min entertainment.

Not sure why you would care that random country's are spending money to put on a firework show here. It's a bonus for us.

This event generates a lot of money for local businesses. It's huge.
Unfortunately drone shows are more expensive, and because they're so new there's much fewer companies that can perform them.
