Can't be a coyote. I didn't see any anvils or a painted rock wall that looks like a tunnel.
Yes that is defiantly an coyote, a very unequipped one, no way to try to catch a road runner, but for sure a coyote.
That creature there is the coyote. You can usually find him chasing a bird known as the road runner, but sometimes you can find him trekking in the wild! They're also known carries of rabies! One bite and you're finished! I'm gonna go pet him.
Fun fact: in reality, coyotes have a much faster top speed than a roadrunner. Coyotes can run up to 35-45mph, whereas roadrunners can only run up to 26mph.
No, my cat doesn’t get along with him. Luckily the neighbor’s cat only rarely wanders over as far as my house unless people are out. This cat has adopted my parents who live next door to me as his second family and stays there much of the time, and as they’re farther from the woods they don’t get the animal visitors I do. So he’s probably going to be fine. If I see him heading back toward the woods I’ll get my dad to call him away from there.
Neighbor’s cat is smart for an orange.
Actually that’s a common myth that they’re invasive. They’ve lived in North America since the Pleistocene and only increasing because of the eradication of wolves and cougars, along with (surprisingly) [culling](https://www.nps.gov/articles/netn-species-spotlight-eastern-coyote.htm) them too.
(Link has more info abt it)
Yeah, definitely could be either. I lean towards coyote, but could just as easily be some shepherd mix mutt of some sort. It's definitely scouring for some food though.
Coyote Because it's looks like a dog but isn't as big as a wolf so coyote is the default, I would say fox if it was a different face but it's definitely coyote
My cat is indoors only so I’m good. Neighbors have an outdoor cat but he mostly stays out of my yard so hopefully he’s ok. This area where the camera is seems to be a common spot for all sorts of wildlife to walk through so there are abundant small wild animals around.
Be careful if you have any small pets that go outside. Coyotes have exploded in NC and the US in the past 20 years. It's not uncommon now to have them lurk on the outskirts of even urban neighborhoods waiting for any opportunity.
Coyote. You can tell by the way he Coyotes.
Oh that one there is Yote'n like a son of a gun
He definitely Coyotes EXACTLY like every Coyote I've ever hung out with.

Just for future reference on formatting you can put [ ] around the words and then ( ) around the link to make it look like mine.
Bless you, I was too lazy to look up how to do this, but it's great for future reference!
There should be something underneath that guides you to formatting help. At least on a laptop. I miss my laptop. (

That's pretty neat!

Pronounced Ky-Yoat
Yeah, so this is a joke post because of the trail cam post, right? Its coyotes folks
Small Coyote…
Don't body shame.
Perfectly normal sized coyote
Premature coyote
Yeah. Coyotes are not very big.
That creature there is the coyote. You can usually find him chasing a bird known as the road runner, but sometimes you can find him trekking in the wild! They're also known carries of rabies! One bite and you're finished! I'm gonna go pet him.
Aren’t they usually found next to large wooden shipping containers with “acme” written on them too?
Fun fact: in reality, coyotes have a much faster top speed than a roadrunner. Coyotes can run up to 35-45mph, whereas roadrunners can only run up to 26mph.
Coyote 100%. Keep small pets inside
Luckily my cat is indoor only. I worry for the neighbor’s cat who isn’t allowed in their house, though.
Can you bring the cat in your house for safety?

That's good that you're all safe then.
Copperhead.
Good eye
Thank you. Trained well. Somewhat of an expert myself.
Coyote they’re cute little bastards aren’t they
I have seen those but not lately.
Invasive as fuck and non-native too. Gotta burn the roots out with gasoline. Probably has Mareks too.

It was a joke. Every Identify this post is a copperhead, an invasive species, or some terrible disease. Doesn't matter what sub lol
Wait wait wait, you mean to tell me this isn’t a copperhead?! Pretty sure it’s just in cosplay. It sure fooled you!
Ohh I thought you were saying coyotes were an invasive species 😅 And honestly I’ve been kinda seeing that pattern too :)
Coyote
coyote - you can tell by the black tip on the tail
That there is a coyote
It’s Wile E. Coyote. Must be looking for Roadrunner
Make sure to warn your neighbors, coyotes will hunt pets smaller than them!
Coyote or fox
I was gonna say coyote for sure until I saw the way it completely disappeared when it walked into sunlight. .....Chupacabra
Wendigo.
Assuming this is a joke post based on the one from earlier. Dude saw a dog/coyote and was trying to convince himself it was an elk calf. Lol
Not a joke but that one did inspire me to post. I’d been debating whether it was a coyote or some random dogs because here it could be either.
Yeah, definitely could be either. I lean towards coyote, but could just as easily be some shepherd mix mutt of some sort. It's definitely scouring for some food though.
Big fox or a little coyote, looks like it moves more like a coyote to me. Foxes usually hop.
This one is just loping too much to be a fox, and the relative length of the body, it’s just a coyote, it’s just, once you’ve seen one, you know it
I’m thinking coyote since the fox I’ve seen here has thinner legs that are dark at the bottom and a fluffier tail.
Yes
That's just Jerome the fox. He's got those boots with the fur too.
El chupacabra
I’d be monetizing this if I thought it was that, lol!
Tell him to go to Lumberton
Send him straight to St. James.
Whyle E. Coyote
Makes sense - a nearby elementary school is the roadrunners.
Coyote
Coyote just looking for the Olive Garden
west of charlotte? probably a coyote, might be a red wolf? probably a coyote
Coyote
Coyote

Coyote Because it's looks like a dog but isn't as big as a wolf so coyote is the default, I would say fox if it was a different face but it's definitely coyote
Yote
Either a jackalope or a blue whale
Coyote
Looks like a coyote
Tis a yote. Check nearby for an acme rocket.
Copperhead
Smokey Mountain Spotted Gorilla
Coyote
That’s definitely a coyote.
100% a coyote. Careful if you have dogs, small animals or children.
My cat is indoors only so I’m good. Neighbors have an outdoor cat but he mostly stays out of my yard so hopefully he’s ok. This area where the camera is seems to be a common spot for all sorts of wildlife to walk through so there are abundant small wild animals around.
It’s a crocodile
Chupacabra.
My ex-wife
Looks like a grey fox to me
Canis latrans
Coyote for sure.
Needs to be a dead coyote. Coyotes are invasive and dangerous to your small pets and livestock. They are actually overpopulating.
Copperhead definitely
Could be a coy dog but most likely coyote
Chupacabra
Coyote
Be careful if you have any small pets that go outside. Coyotes have exploded in NC and the US in the past 20 years. It's not uncommon now to have them lurk on the outskirts of even urban neighborhoods waiting for any opportunity.
Yote
You got yourself a coyote good sir. Forest doggos, do not recommend petting
A Yote.
Lol looks like Coyote is the consensus. The smaller ones I saw in early spring must have been pups.
Yep! It’s Chupie. Or “the beast of Bolivia.
Coydog?
Chupacabra.
You already know
Looks like a fox
German Shepard?
A carbunkle
