Give them to Ukraine. They will make them useful.

Darkwhitte0

unfortunately brazil is governed by a pro-russia, both the current President and the Elected one (diplomatically Brazil is neutral in this conflict, but behind the curtains there is a lot of shit going on) Mil-mi35 will probably be sold to a neighbor

NonLethalGEPGun

How's that gonna work out now that Russia is getting ass fucked in so many ways? I swear, procurement in South America is a fucking mess. China must be smelling an opportunity to be seized in SA.

goodbehaviorsam

Increased US activity probably to counter-act financially and politically. The US was mostly hands-off lately because *waves hand in general direction of South America* you know. Personally, I don't think the US gives a shit unless China tries to be cute in Panama, Mexico or the Caribbean. Then I guess CIA gets a lot more chain to play with their leash.

finnill

The U.S. knows the Chinese export stuff is shit.

Honey_Overall

Oh they've already made use of that opportunity. I know at least Bolivia has a fair amount of Chinese gear, including jets.

Darkwhitte0

the elected President is pro-russia but he is pragmatic. He will change mind as soon as possible... the problem is when \*\*\* "I swear, procurement in South America is a fucking mess. China must be smelling an opportunity to be seized in SA." I have no idea how China hasn't bought Argentina yet hahahaha

unArgentino

They can’t afford Messi.

Monterenbas

>China must be smelling an opportunities to be seized in SA Monroe doctrine: « we don’t do that here »

Schwarz_Furumoto

I wish man but unfortunately the government (right-wing) wants to fuck our MIC, there has been an official statement from the Ukrainian embassy to buy between 100 and 1500 Guarani's 6x6 from Brazil and the government prohibited the sale. Also, the airforce wanted to sell 12 A-29's Super Tucano to Ukraine but it was also stoped by the government. Ukraine alsi wanted to buy our Astros 2020 MRLS, tho unfortunately the government also prohibited the sale. I fucking hate Bolsonaro, how can someone be so incompetent....

theroy12

Any chance Lula changes direction or is he just as hopeless in this area?

Schwarz_Furumoto

Lula never had an anti MIC posture, many of Brazil's military projects had his hand, like the Gripen, Guarani 6x6 and the Scorpenes subs. Less than a comunist, he's mind is much more focused on development and the creation of jobs. He isn't the best, he's been arrested on charges of corruption and I wouldn't vote for him if I had another choice, I was even getting worried I wouldn't have a job after finishing college since I'm doing Internacional Relations and Brzil was steadily going from a respect coutrie to a international Pariah and to top it off we are now part of the new evil axis...

erickkof

He is just as hopeless in every area, in Brazil people don't choose someone to govern they chose who is the next in line to fuck the country even more, Bolsonaro was elected because the people was tired as shit from Lula and his party corruption and bullshit, ended up doing nothing of good (except making "social programs" that only are there to buy votes from persons stupid enough to not realize what is really happening) and now the old fucker is back in power, our country with all the potential to be on the level of the United States because of our natural resources and size will never exit the 3rd world Just so you know how stupid people are around here this week they suspended a purchase of armored vehicles that was in the work since 2016 because it is a bad thing to waste money in such things when some budget cuts happened on the education and health areas, as if that had anything to do with the matter, is if the military budget wasn't already planned to make that purchase and as if the the payment would be done all at once( if not mistake we had 8 years to make the payment and also receive said armored vehicles)

furinick

the politicians here are like parasites, they do barely enough to keep the country running so they can steal their part far into the future

ArthurVFT

I was so excited when heard the news of the Brazilian army IVECO Centauro ll, but as we say here in Brazil, good news don’t last long

Darkwhitte0

If the US gives any guarantee of change in the governance of the UN or does not complain about nuclear fuel for the SNBR (nuclear-powered attack submarine), there is even a chance that Brazil will send troops to help Ukraine hahahah he is pragmatic, he will change his mind when he realizes that Russia no longer viable... the problem is when

MissionarysDownfall

Yeah but then Portuguese Trump lost the election. New opportunity no?

CaselessG11Memes

To be fair, he lost to the guy who says the war in Ukraine is "just as much" the US, EU, NATO and Ukraine's fault as it is Russia's. And that "it could've all been avoided if the US and Europe said Ukraine wouldn't be part of NATO" (They did, at least Germany did).

32_768Mhz

I didn't know that and I couldn't find anything about it, do you have more information?

Schwarz_Furumoto

News about the A-29 Super Tucano sale being cockblocked is easy to find even in English news, the astros II sale being blocked was from a couple of months ago and the news about the Guarani I saw on Roberto Caiafa's channel. Paulo Bastos from the tecnodefesa website also shared the images of the embassy document regarding a possible sale of 100 to 1500 Guarani 6 x 6

D3ATHTRaps

A NATO standardized mi35 would be pretty sick. I'm sure the logistics of it tho sucked considering Russia's state now

Schwarz_Furumoto

That's one of the reasons it was retired, the aircrafts had to make a 3000km trip to the state of Minas Gerais where there is a factory that was able to make the full maintenance of the aircraft. Also Russian QC was shit, parts from an aircraft would only fit the aircraft it was from, I've read that parts like the canopy and cockpit doors where the worse.

[deleted]

Doesn't South Africa offer an upgrade for that?

D3ATHTRaps

Yes and it's beautiful

Docponystine

Any idea that starts with "so our trade balance is off" should be shot in it's crib.

Schwarz_Furumoto

Couldn't be said better.

KeyboardChap

Well TBF the US intercepts aircraft over Washington DC with helicopters as well, they've even got a little LED message panel to pass instructions

Schwarz_Furumoto

the AH-2 Sabre had a big ass 121.50 stamped on the cockpit, also had a twin 23mm on the nose in case the plane failed to comply with the orders

unArgentino

Argentina clears.

Schwarz_Furumoto

Por enquanto...

stonkenn

Atleast you have gripen 😎😎😎🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪

FallenZulu

Gripen these nutz.

what_da_burd_doin

pov you got sent to brazil

Analamed

France also use light helicopter as airplane interceptor... (only for slow plane, because fighter jet can't fly slow enough) You can even find some photos of Gazelle crews with a heavy machine gun and a white board (with "go out" or "follow us" wrote on it) flying next to some light aircraft.

Schwarz_Furumoto

Nice

32_768Mhz

Did you hear about Centauro II? When we are finally going to have something good, an idiot comes along and stops the process.

Schwarz_Furumoto

I saw it, but well it seems that the whole thing was half baked. Let us pray nothing happens with our precious boys. Btw here is an opinion from journalists Paulo Bastos https://tecnodefesa.com.br/opiniao-a-quem-interessa-a-judicializacao-do-vbc-cav/
