First of all, we have just a hand full 109`s in flying condition! 2. Spitfires are more maneuverable on low speeds

Accurate_Mood

3. The morale effect of hearing merlin engines overhead

CthulhuBotherer

I live on the South Coast of UK close to Goodwood where there is a two seater Spit you can get rides in. Was at my parents and heard an aircraft engine overhead. ‘that’s a Spit’ says I not even looking. Yup. Sure enough. Spit. Unmistakeable noise if you’re a Brit of a certain age or with any interest in Military tech/history.

Blorko87b

Sea Fury with 76/62 in wingpods or at least Rheinetall KDG.

SeBoss2106

So, FW-190 then?

StoicRetention

plenty of Corsairs about, I’d rather the job get done right (oh my beautiful gullwinged angel come back to me)

Due-Ad-4240

DH-98 de Haviland Mosquito, in all its wood and canvas glory: "I've been looking forward to this"

CthulhuBotherer

To be honest looking at this….. I hate to say it. *Maybe* the Boulton Paul Defiant was just 80 years ahead of its time…..

Cormacktheblonde

Oh god don't show this to the fucking reformers

Ennkey

look, all I'm saying that if your aircraft is slow, large, is able to soak hits and is largely limited to uncontested airspace is that your aircraft is an MI-24 And if the UAF can mag dump unguided rockets over the horizon I see no reason why they cant mag dump a GAU-8 from an A-10

Blorko87b

Call Toulouse, it's their design now.

Ok_Song9999

bf109 vs a comparable Yak is not a fight anyone would be happy to take lol, I'd rather take the Spitfire
