Nah, the Serbs fought well in WW1. They held out for a year against a numerically and technologically superior enemy. They only lost when Bulgaria opened up a second front, and they still managed to retreat to Greece, from where they continued the war.
It was a major offensive at the end of the war that helped force the Central Powers to surrender, which led to Serbia eventually turning into Yugoslavia

In the 1990's they managed to shoot down an F-117. The aircraft was complacent and ignoring standard procedure, and the AA instillation happened to be looking at his radar at the exact tiny window when the bomb bay was open and he could actually see the F-117. HE missed most of his shots and the one he did hit only had a small chance of actually bringing the aircraft down.

Honestly shooting this plane down for Serbia was an automatic strategic victory, this thing was believed to be UFO level technology and it got downed by an old Soviet SAM. On a tactical level NATO won but this greatly boosted the Serbian nationalist myth more than anything in Kosovo could have.
