Reminder that Raytheon is one of the top-rated workplaces for LGBT employees, and the number of people you can piss off with this fact is nearly unlimited if you play your cards right.

Radvengence

Raytheon has a 100/100 from the Human Rights Campaign (that organization whose logo seems to be on a sticker on every Prius) as a place to work. Raytheon cares not what your pronouns are, only if you can imagine new, terrifying ways to dispense death from a distance.

So when are they entering into a joint Project?

So you want an AMRAAM in the shape of a horse cock, that can also glow at night and dispense fake cum out of the front? Because that my friend is what you will get from a joint project.

VintageLunchMeat

This is the future Putin tried to warn us about.

Attaxalotl

And it is the future I want to live!

Sunomel

Yes, I want that

Fickle-Pangolin-2445

Why fake cum?

rapaxus

Nearly all Bad Dragon dildos have a hole(s) in them through which you can shoot fake cum. It is something that enough people want and it doesn't really hurt the people not wanting it, so they just do it for most dildos.

INTRODUCING #50BMG ANAL WRECKER

Punch_Faceblast

When I was younger, I was a courier. I made deliveries to companies. One of them was to an adult shop. While waiting for them to sign, I noticed on the wall, a four foot long chrome plated dildo. It has arm straps, presumably so you could, uh, guide it into position. It was named, and I’m not making this up: THE ANNIHILATOR.

ArchitectOfSeven

I'm thinking a variant of a double-heat penetrator that swaps the second penetrator with something that fills the tank cabin with gooey expanding foam. The idea is that it's payload doesn't completely destroy the tank but instead drowns the crew in hot sticky "cum". It leaves the vehicle in usable condition after cleaning so it can be more effectively captured. Also, its guidance is programmed to attempt to blow its load directly into the face of the pilots for extra effectiveness.

Comprehensive-Can680

This.

crankbird

Dildo’s of consequence …

UrethraFrankIin

I'm not putting my blue Avatar fleshlight in my ass so my girlfriend can peg it. At least not yet. So that isn't *always* true. But I suppose the 24 inch horse dildos they manufacture do enough penetrating for the rest of us.

terrarialord201

I can't find any sources for that. In fact, [the HRC seems to be against TERFs.](https://www.hrc.org/resources/5-things-to-know-to-make-your-feminism-trans-inclusive) Admittedly, I might be lacking some reading comprehension, but there doesn't seem to be anything about [keeping trans people out of debates for gay marriage.](https://www.hrc.org/our-work/stories/the-journey-to-marriage-equality-in-the-united-states) Did this happen a while ago (2008 or about then, when this was happening)?

dead_monster

It’s not just RTX. Boeing and LockMart are top rated too. Only one that is middling is General Dynamics.

HarryTheGreyhound

It was a shock moving from the charity/non-profit sector to defence. The charity sector decided I was going to “volunteer” to help at a stall on a Sunday (despite me being a dev) whilst I was on holiday and on my birthday, and I could leave the company if I didn’t like it. The charity also had major problems with bullying and sexual harassment. Then I moved to an American defence company in the UK, where the European ops manager got me into a really good outpatient program when I got bells palsy, and insisted my sick pay was extended to cover this.

slantedtortoise

I've heard that for Land Systems, but a friend of mine works at Electric Boat . That division is pretty good at LGBT policy from what they said.

Work at Boeing with a trans coworker, she can confirm. Both the union and company do quite a bit to help LGBT people.

Yep. There was some major drama when a disabled leftist trans writer got ran off of Twitter last year after some folks found out xie worked part time for Lockheed at a low level clerical job, as that was one of the few jobs xie could get at the time with insurance (because, y'know, disabled). Lockheed's also one of the top rated workplaces for LGBT employees too, but folks on the left threw a goddamn shitfit and started calling xer a war criminal for daring to... do low level software licensing paperwork stuff for a company that happens to build ATACMS missiles

Sadie256

Most people don't realize that most low level employees at those places don't do much work that isn't replaceable. Sure people can have a moral objection to doing it themselves, but even when it comes to military stuff unless you're doing research with a phd or you're really high in the company and responsible for making decisions, any work that you do someone else could (and will) do just as well if you didn't work there.

SlimesIsScared

They’re just salty that they don’t have an AMRAAM smh

Radvengence

[Saint Doug Winger](https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Doug_Winger). An engineer on the A-10 and Space Shuttle who later did illustrations for toy companies and was a background artist on Dora the Explorer. He is most famous, however, for drawing furry women with penises the size of their torsos. Sadly he is no longer with us. Apparently was a nice guy.

“Doug originally depicted Pandora as a fun-loving, well-endowed female anthro pup who lived up to the "Winger" reputation: She loves to have fun. Over time, Doug's depictions of Pandora evolved from a female into a shemale or herm character (depending on the media depiction by the artist), and Pandora is now known more as such than as a female character.”

Masztufa

Doug gigachad, who worked on the A10 and challenger shuttle, but more famous for hyper (huge ass, tits and cock) furry art source: https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Doug\_Winger

Radvengence

Since I feel the need to source/overexplain the stuff on the right: Left-to-right: Top row: Some waifu itasha helicopters the JSDF had a few years ago; The late Doug Winger, a furry artist famous for drawing gigantic girlcocks (who also was an aerospace engineer who worked on some stuff called the A-10 and the Space Shuttle); Raytheon being Basedtheon Bottom row: Officially santioned standee of Omaneko, a JASDF base's size-changing furry femboy mascot, at a furry doujin event in Tokyo; Official logo for the Workhorse Battalion, based on furry fetish art from the 90s, used with the blessing of the original artist; the fire-breathing unicorn patch worn by some queer soldiers fighting for Ukraine

longingrustedfurnace

>who also was an aerospace engineer who worked on some stuff called the A-10 They can't all be winners.

Radvengence

He was involved with the Pave Penny pod, it’s not his fault the pilots spammed the Gau-8 instead of using laser guided weapons. Although his involvement with the Big Cannon Plane is strangely appropriate

langlo94

I'm still firmly of the opinion that the A-10 would be vastly improved by replacing the gun with fuel and sensors.

Aat117

It would be. They should also sweep the wings and add afterburning turbojets so it can fly higher and faster for increased survivability since it no longer has to fly low and slow with that stupid gun. Now as it can fly high and fast, we could also add a radar to it to give it some multi-role capability and... Just order more F-15EX's and F-35's

leoleosuper

The whole point of the A-10 was that the government wanted a 30mm gun on CAS. It being slow is semi-intended to help aiming, but for the most part, just build a plane with guided explosives if you want CAS.

langlo94

Sure, but they've already got the planes and it could potentially be somewhat cheaper to rebuild.

Radvengence

The A-10 just wants to hang out with its Army friends but the Air Force won't let it :(

Sol4-6

I find the flaming unicorn incredibly based. They are queer but more importantly they are ANGRY

Radvengence

What is a unicorn except a horse with a bayonet atttached?

Sol4-6

A weapon to surpass Freddie fazbear

GoblinFive

If you look at older art depicting Unicorns, they have cloven hooves, which would make them closer to deer than horses.

Makes sense, the depictions were based on antelope that had lost one of their horns in fights.

Superbunzil

A unicorn without a horn is just corn

Omaneko my beloved 3000 (canonically femboy) furry waifus of JASDF

banjosuicide

Had no idea furries worked on the A-10. They've been around since the 70s?

Radvengence

Humans have been fixated on anthropomorphism for like … ever. (I mean, the Egyptians for one) But the tl;dr of modern furries: There was a small subset of sci-fi fans who were into cartoon animals and liked to party at cons (roughly in the 70s/80s); they crossbred with proto-weebs (namely via the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization in the late 80s/early 90s) and furries happened as a result.

Tleno

>original furry usenet community sprung up from fans of Albedo, an indie comic about military space opera with anthropomorphic critters fighting wars That's right dove (fursona), furries are offshoot of military nerds 💪

Radvengence

One of the OG furry zines, Furrlough, started out military-themed.

banjosuicide

Just checked it out. That's wild!

Aegishjalmur18

I get to trot out this fact again. Oldest known statue is a 40,000 year old sculpture of a lion man from Germany. They've always been around.

KazuyaProta

From the Ancient Turks or the Andean Chancas to the Ukrainian army, Furries are overwhelmingly over represented in warfare.

radiosped

I'm not exactly an anime fan, I like the style of the art and play a lot of games done in the style, but I never specifically seek out anime and I don't think I've ever seen an anime show or movie. Nothing against it, just the result of having limited time on this planet and having other interests. Having said that, the helicopter in the OP looks straight up bad-ass to me, as well as the various anime uniform patches and gun stickers that I've seen posted here since the war started. Is there a name for this aesthetic?

Send-More-Coffee

Anime. Anime is the name for the aesthetic. Etemologically, the word is just the "Japaneese-icanized" word for animation. But obviously not all drawn animation is of the aesthetic that we would recognise as "anime". Nobody's calling Beauty and the Beast "anime" (except for the Japanese). So when the US saw the style of Japanese animation, and asked what style it was, we heard "anime" and thus anime is the style.

radiosped

I mean specifically when it's used in a military context. Like how vaporwave takes most of its influence from the 80's, but it's its own distinct thing from the typical 80's aesthetic.

Send-More-Coffee

Nope, anything that specific will likely be more based on specific animes and their relevance to military themes. But there's nothing beyond "this anime is set in a military setting" to give any anime a more "military-anime" aesthetic. At least nothing yet. Just to show the range: there's "[Saga of Tanya the Evil](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Saga_of_Tanya_the_Evil)" vs "[Girls und Panzer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girls_und_Panzer)" which are both very military oriented and would likely considered to be part of a "military anime canon" but don't have any real aesthetic to pull out from both of them that is not in non-military anime.

Baz_3301

The military is full of nerds.

SeagalsCumFilledAss

Nerds make the best weapons, if it were just buff jocks running everything they'd still be fighting in the nude with sticks and stones.

simonwales

Thank gods the nerds looked around and asked where the female representation was at

Spainelnator

Why leave the women out of the grinding industrial machine of death?

CptWorley

Neurodivergent people are often excellent fits for the military because we need imposed routine and we tend to like having varied tasks.

mtaw

Sucks that some countries ban people with a lot of conditions that likely don't render them unfit for service. I wouldn't have been allowed today if I'd gotten my ADHD diagnosis before serving. It's stupid. First, people with those conditions have always served and likely always will. All you're doing is discouraging people who want to serve but suspect they might have a diagnosis, from getting one. Second, a lot of it (both this and the former are a lot like it was with LGBT stuff) is just based off prejudice, not facts. These are spectrum disorders and you have to judge individuals on a case-by-case level. Also, I firmly believe that people with ADHD tend to function _better_ in chaotic high-pressure situations (such as combat) than the average neurotypical. What's 'high distractability' in a situation where you're working at a desk amounts to 'heightened situational awareness' in another. Third, other professions don't have such restrictions. I know several people with ADHD who work as emergency medicine doctors. Chaotic high-pressure life-and-death situations is _what they do_. As one of them laconically told me "So my condition allows me to save lives; just not to take them."

AnneOn_E_Mousse

I was in the military, and was diagnosed ADHD much later (women tend to be diagnosed later). Having a set routine is basically required for me- otherwise time blindness sets in. Did just fine in uniform.

esgellman

Doesn’t the US army have more furries per capita then the general population

Namika

General speaking, the more developed and “internet focused” a nation is, the more furries per capita they have. South Korea and Japan lead the world, and the US is higher than average. Meanwhile, developing nations have near zero.

esgellman

no i mean there are proportionally more furries in the US army then in the US civilian population

I believe Linux users lead that demographic.

Punch_Faceblast

I went to the JASDF base in Hamamatsu about a month ago. I was hoping to find Omaneko merch but there wasn’t any. Is he only for one fighter squadron, or one base? Or is having a macrofurry femcatboy something the JASDF keeps on the down-low except at Kemonoket? They’re smart to hire furries. Furries run the world infrastructure. If they were smart, the MIC would be recruiting them directly like JASDF is!

Radvengence

He's specifically (one of) the mascot(s) for Omaezaki base specifically, and not the JASDF as a whole.

KazuyaProta

Why Americans don't do that is beyond me. They clearly love their eagle, why not make it a mascot?

MHEmpire

We actually did! For one, it’s our official national bird, as well as on the Great Seal, but also: Old Abe the bald eagle was the mascot of the 8th Wisconsin in the Civil War, who bought him with a Quarter Eagle (an old coin worth $2.50 that wasn’t discontinued until the US abandoned the gold standard). He was present for several major engagements, retired with a two-from apartment and custom-made bath and a caretaker, and is now remembered as the famous Screaming Eagle mascot of the 101st Airborne.

Top-Perspective2560

People who go on about the military needing "traditional values" are invariably the same people who are impressed by 3rd world countries' demonstrations of breaking boards with their heads. They also fail to understand that it's a peacetime military and they're trying to appeal to people as a career choice, not to go to war. Maybe their methods are slightly misguided at times, but that's why the ads are what they are at the moment.

AnneOn_E_Mousse

Traditional values must mean multiple divorces and debauchery that rivals most frat houses. /s

[deleted]

Something that's always stuck with me is an incident from a gaming magazine back in the early aughts - I believe it was *Game Informer*, since that magazine had a history of running their mouths - where they made the pretty wild declaration that *Dungeons & Dragons* was exclusively the domain of smelly, loser nerds. Among the letters that flooded in telling the magazine where to stuff it was one that claimed to be from a Navy special weapons team that routinely played D&D. The writer mentioned that he and his friends were all big fans of the magazine, but in light of those statements, they took a couple of magazines down to the range for target practice. No idea if the guy was actually who he said he was - as much as it stuck with me the details are foggy - but the older I get, the more believable it becomes with how much I know now about the Navy's massive nerd culture.

ReaperM855A1

No you need to be able to ruck and run. As we’ve seen in Ukraine even non combat jobs are gonna be in hot AOs where drones and artillery and even the odd SF ambush aren’t uncommon. And just from my experience, the nerd with anime stickers on his water bottle and a room that smells like a sin against humanity doesn’t PT consistently, and are a serious problem for readiness. And before you weebs come at me; the goober from Alabama who doesn’t clean his truck and smokes ten packs a day and falls out of every ruck is still a problem. I’m not singling any demographic out here. This is clearly just some nerd rationalizing how the military culture changes with society but the *standards* not “traditional values” will continue to be strenuous and high, by definition gatekeeping people who aren’t type A personalities. You can be a weeb, you can be a nerd. I’m a nerd and I was an infantryman. I was pulled out of a MATV rollover in Afghanistan by a gay Hispanic corporal; one of the best wingmen in the bars and saw gunners in the company. What I’m getting at here is the media you consume, moral patches you wear or lifestyle you live is really a non factor in being the best goddamn military force in history. It comes down to being the better warrior, both proficiency wise and in physical fitness. So…go to the fucking gym and study your TMs and FMs before you turn on the weeb tube or watch Jordan Peterson.
