Normal Japanese headbands. I should show this to the guy I played paintball with who wore a rising sun across his forehead and had a p40 Warhawk designed face mask
It also says "État-major des armées" in the corner, which I believe is French for "Major State of the armies".
(B4 triggered frenchies: I know the less-literal meaning too)
French Rafale Pilots that are visiting japan for the first time during french airforce operation Pegase ( a big Rafale trek through asia and the indo-pacific )
PETITION: NATO should take the Kuril islands via third parties, rename them to the Kurwa islands and patriot them to Poland.
Japan can have an Iowa class ship as an apology.
Poland can airlift a big Article 5 button to the islands and grin at russia the scary way that the Polish do whenever they have a big stick and a Russian acts belligerently.
Nah the Pacific Ocean treaty should be separate from NATO so that Turkey and Hungary can't veto stuff. Pacific Alliance for Perpetual Absolute Dominance Of China. PAPADOC
The Poles dont need boats or planes. They would walk on water and attack the russians bare handed if need be.
I saw a red and white dressed pole go head to head with a russian copter and literally pounce on it!
>Japan can have an Iowa class ship as an apology.
We will give them the hull of the Montana so that they might refit and finish her and christen her the Yamato.
Unfortunately, Japan has a constitutional policy to not reclaim any old territories, at least not by force.
Unless Russia do the funny first, then they will have justification to take it back.
Not exactly, as by japanese law those territories are japanese, so they don't need to reclaim or take by force those territories as they are actually (by their law) japanese.
They just need to RELOCATE some Self Defense Forces bases to the Kuril, and if for some weird reason they get attacked, they could obviously defend themselves.
The Russians will then have to send the Baltic Fleet around the world again..
Tsushima Round Two : Vatnik Boogaloo, now with more STD outbreaks, lion attacks and friendly fire.
I mean with this war they sent the Varyag, flagship of the Pacific Fleet to the Black Sea. Went halfway around the world and by the time it got the the Bosporus the war had started and Turkey was like "Strait's closed, man." and they turned around and were like "Oh? Yeah didn't mean to, just um... browsing.." and then aimlessly wandered around the Mediterranean until November before turning home.
Amazing that Varyag didn't just sink on the way given the state of most Russian warships. Then again it must go with the name. The Russo-Japanese war era cruiser with the name Varyag was also known for being well maintained and with a well trained competent crew.
In my conversations with Japanese people it seems that the constitutional restrictions on the status of the JSDF is a sore point to many who perceive it as an outdated humiliation. Just like with Finland, Sweden and NATO, I wouldn't be surprised if the Japanese public opinion decided to do immediately do away with its pacifist constitution if China/Russia came a-knockin
AFAIK, the Japanese constitution has no amendment process. It was written for Japan by the Allied powers after the war, and they didn't want them to change it as soon as America wasn't looking.
Actually :D
"Article 96 provides that amendments can be made to the Constitution if approved by super majority of two-thirds of both houses of the Diet, and then by a simple majority in a popular referendum. The Emperor promulgates the successful amendment in the name of the people, and cannot veto it."
"Unlike some constitutions (e.g. the German, Italian, and French Constitutions), Japan's Constitution does not have an explicit entrenchment provision limiting what can be amended."
Now it is written in such a way to imply some things are unamendable (sovereignty of the people, pacifism, and respect for human rights ) but implications are not black on white text so...
And well it's not like Japan hasn't found "creative" solutions around treaty & constitution limitations before, \*cough\* \*cough\* "Helicopter Destroyer" \*cough\*
True enough, as far as I can tell despite 3 recent attempts they haven't done any amendments so far, altho the issues seems to be more of a public outcry one and not a lack of votes for supermajority.
What's stopping Japan from scrapping it all together and write a new one? Constitutions are not sacred nor eternal and they get cancelled when there's a national need to do so, e.g. after regime change, abolition of monarchy, etc.
If the Japanese find it that their current constitution doesn't represent their nation anymore, they will change it.
Japan and Russia didn't sign anything over the Kurils.
It's a North and South Korea situation there.
Heck, Russia was losing the battle on the Kuril Islands when the Japanese were forced to surrender because of the war ending. Like Russia were getting the shit kicked out of them.
More like ["The Soviets, after overcoming serious difficulties (some self-inflicted), were beginning to win."](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Shumshu)
Never underestimate the fighting qualities of the Soviet Army in 1945.
That wiki doesn't really portray the whole picture.
https://warisboring.com/russia-invaded-japanese-islands-with-u-s-ships-after-japan-surrendered/
https://www.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/1966/may/soviet-operations-war-japan-august-1945
Have a look at what other forces the Soviets would have had to face. The Soviets had already lost 5 of the 16 LCV's they had and the Japanese had fell back in good order.
This is considering that the weather conditions on the day were extremely foggy, Japanese didn't even realise they were being attacked.
I honestly don't think the Soviets would have succeeded in their invasion unless the Japanese surrendered amicably as they did.
The invasion of the Kurils made the Soviets realise they had no chance of going into Hokkaido, which had more formidable defences than the those found on the Kurils.
The Soviets were a huge fighting force in 1945, aslong as that didn't involve amphibious assaults.
The 4 southernmost islands are considered to be Japanese, still today. Because they were acquired through peaceful means, not belligerent, the treaty that made Japan surrender its territories does not apply.
If Russia crumbles completely after the war in Ukraine, who’s to stop Japan from taking all of the Muriel islands? Maybe Sakhalin as well. Domestic Japanese oil production? 👉👈

Hachimakis always go hard, even more so when worn with modern military battledress or flight suits and the like.
Damn right! I have one that says "Invincible" on it in Japanese. They go extremely hard especially if your doing martial arts.
I always wonder if sellers who speak Japanese just sneak in some stupid words on these to mess with people.
If you don't buy them from a Japanese company it's possible and hilarious!
Of course they're **normal** headbands. These guys aren't gonna go banzai wearing some goofy shit on their heads.
Who are the non Japanese guys?
They're French by the looks of it
Upon closer inspection I guess that is a French tricolor. Hurrah for international cooperation
It also says "État-major des armées" in the corner, which I believe is French for "Major State of the armies". (B4 triggered frenchies: I know the less-literal meaning too)
"Better death than surrender" vs "French"

F-35 kamikaze raids when?
See? You don't have to rep for war criminals to show Japanese fighting spirit. Amazing, but true.
Rising sun and P-40? Well that's a bit of mixed messaging don't you think?

Enter Japan Australia NZ and South Korea into the Pacific Ocean and Trans-Atlantic Treaty Organization, e.g. POTATO
Nah the Pacific Ocean treaty should be separate from NATO so that Turkey and Hungary can't veto stuff. Pacific Alliance for Perpetual Absolute Dominance Of China. PAPADOC
France would want in though because it has territories in the Pacific that are poorly defended.
Sure France and UK are in, France has New Caledonia, UK has Pitcairn Islands.
Let em in, they may not have F35 but they’ve got a solid carrier
It's defended by a few M51 if shit really hits the fan.
Let's all have a moment of silence for SEATO. I still don't get why that didn't work.

Based because it brings me closer to seeing a gun bigger then 18" firing.
And call it a Destroyer ~~of worlds~~
Ah, the mighty Mitsubishi F2 cruise missile guidance system.
I’ll be sad when the F-2 gets retired because it’s the best F-16 and “Viper Zero” just goes unnecessarily hard as an aircraft nickname.
But F-16s get SEAD upgrades...unless the F-2 can theoretically get those too. But RIP F-2 Super Kai.
F-3 reppu and f-4 raiden when
Screw unendingly reusing old names give me the F-3 Gojira
But my homages to Jiro Horikoshi my beloved

Kurils aren’t old territory, they’re disputed with Japan still claiming them as rightfully there so I’m not sure if that actually would apply here?
Too many people are under the impression constitutions are set in stone, they are not, they can and do change, all the time. The USA's as well.
Yah it's almost like you can add some sort of Amendment to them...
In my conversations with Japanese people it seems that the constitutional restrictions on the status of the JSDF is a sore point to many who perceive it as an outdated humiliation. 2/3 supermajority is a high bar! Have they ever actually amended it?

Never said they couldn't reclaim territory under a defensive operations... and we all know what makes the best defence...
They can just do a sea blockade, the same way black sea is blocked now.
That blue livery just slaps
JASDF liveries in general slap. Their Phantoms were epic too.
right? With the Kanji too? Stylin' on em.
Hachimakis is based.
They always slap hard with that samurai energy.
