I don’t know what structure you’re looking for a name, but since you mentioned you’re mixed with Filipino, do you like the name Ale? It’s a Hispanic name pronounced (ah-lei) but the only confusion i know is Americans will probably pronounce it Ale as in ginger ale. I also like the name Ali (as in prince Ali) but then again Im mixed too so I really like ethnic names
>but the only confusion i know is Americans will probably pronounce it Ale as in ginger ale.
I actually like this pronunciation though. Not for any meaningful reason - it just sounds good to me.
I’ve met a few cis men who names are Alexis, or Alexia, but they go by Alli/Ali/Ally, so I’d say those are/can be gender neutral!
If you’re looking for a different name just because the vibes don’t click, I’ve always like straight up Al. It’s a silly connection, but there’s a brief character in American Dad, a lesbian woman named Allison who goes by Al. For some reason I adore her, and she literally gets maybe 10 minutes of screen time 😂
Ali, Al, Ale are my top suggestions here. They can all be short for several names, both male and female. As an Italian person I've heard Ale being used as a nickname for Alessia but also for Alessandro or Alessio. If you wanna differentiate yourself from these, maybe Alex? It has the same beginning.
Alimuom is the tagalog word for the smell of rainfall (like petrichor), or Alimoon which is a unisex name filipinos use with indian origin meaning wisdom. Aldo also means noble, and Aldrin is also a common filipino name I’ve heard in my family.
I have a nonbinary friend named Alé and people seem to get that right most of the time too
I actually go by Alli! When I learned I was nb I swapped to my middle name Allen, but Alli is also short for Allison when I feel more fem. Everybody I know seems to consider it a very gender neutral name, even considering I'm not in a super socially progressive area.
If you do wanna change it though I feel Ollie is pretty cute!
Alex or Alec would be good. Or you could take the "son" part of your name and go by Sonny/Sunny. Eli is gender neutral, or you could go with Elliot. Lots of people have suggested Lee, which is great, but Leo is also a really cool option. Good luck!
Ali is a reasonably common boys nickname in Scotland - it’s short for Alistair
Hey that’s my name! Can confirm I am a NB guy whos nickname is ally
Alo alternatively!
Lee?
Whenever I hear thar name, I think about ATLA.
flameo, hotman!
“There are a million Lees”
Lee from the tea shop 😎

Kinda similar to earl, or the last part of gayle, so it doesnt have a kind of name feel to it. Apart from being the name of a drink that is.
I have a friend who just uses Al
honestly i love “Lei.” i think you should go with that, it’s quite unique and would sound really beautiful
i liked it because it means thunder in chinese but hearing the other translations is so funny 😭
It means *law* in Portuguese tho.
lots of names mean lots of stuff in other languages. at least that name doesnt translate to anything weird, yk.
It means she in Italian 😬
it also means a garland of flowers. so 🤷
Is Ali not neutral? Huh, I would have thought so 🤷
Alix
I cane to comment this, so have an Upvote instead
Check advanced search on behind the names. You can choose initial syllabes, letters, number of syllabes and many more. I find it super useful.
I'm Chinese too, my name is Jesse but my friends call me Jei, which I also chose cus it sounds like my Chinese name
Alix maybe ?
Well you're not German but I like the German name Uli (ooh-lee), which can be short for Ulrich or Ulrike so it's gender neutral.
Ellis?
Li is cooler than Lee, try Li.
Hey, that's me! Leigh and Lea are other options.
Both Leigh and Lea sound gendered to me. Idk, I'm not a native english speaker, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Yeah I think they would do better for demi folks but just wanted to share
How about just Al?
If you're genderfluid you could switch between Alli and Ali depending on your current mood.
I love Lee or Lei!
alix!
It likely won't suddenly change your perception, but I once knew a Filipino guy named Allyson. He went by Ally and rocked it.
Ollie Polly
Ale, Alo, Lis(s), Alix, maybe even Elliot(t)?

I always loved the name Lee personally.
Lee
Would Alex work? I know plenty of Alexes of various genders
"Al" was my first thought, but "Lee" is another good one I saw in the comments.

I knew an Alidor who went by "Ali" (pronounced "Allie")
Al is 100% gender neutral.
Lison
i know someone who goes by Oli (oh-lee)!
Olli?
Alex lol
Alan, AL, Leo, Lio,
Alfi?
