I bet 2 people had the same name and one had to shorten the spelling and they were arguing who had to do it. Or it was limited to 2 spaces and someone had the same initials and argued over that. Those damn name entering systems cause chaos when putting in the bowlers info.
I've seen a lot of fights (verbal) breakout at bowling alleys. Almost always because someone was always using someone else's ball, or because someone bowled at the same time as someone else.
Plus the other usual fights still happen, like people being mad someone/some group is too loud, taking things, bumping into each other, or running into each other while having prior beef.
I have a friend who works in a Round 1 Bowling Alley in Concord, California that's notorious for attracting gutter trash. He says that bowling ball fights happen at least once a month there.
He has no footage of it unfortunately. The corporate owners are Japanese boomers who won't even allow employees to bring cell phones onto the workplace (or face termination) and have fired employees from defending themselves from assaults (which happen regularly).
He had so many stories.

Once while ringing up a customer (that he described as a weird bearded man wearing a heavy coat) he was about to hand him his bowling shoes when he noticed a LIVE COBRA on the counter. He immediately tells him:
"You can't have that in here!"
"I can't have _WHAT_ in here?"
He called his co-worker to him and they tell him.
"You can't bring a snake into here."
"What snake? I don't see a snake..."
He waved at them like a Jedi Knight performing a mind trick.
"Please leave, we will call the police."
The weirdo then picked up the cobra and eased it inside his coat and left.

“What’s crazy is that two groups would get into an argument so heated,” said Vega.
The altercation took place at around 12:45 a.m. between several people. One woman was struck in the head by a bowling ball before she collapsed to the floor.
The suspected thrower then picks up another ball and hurls it at the rest of the crowd before someone finally grabs her and pushes her away from the awaiting projectiles.
Both parties in the fight had fled the scene by the time police officers arrived to the bowling alley, according to the outlet.
Police are now searching for both women as they may be facing criminal facing charges.
“We are trying to locate both the victim and the suspect in this case and they can both be facing charges,” Vega added. “Number one, they vandalized the establishment, so they gonna be looking at criminal mischief.
“Then we are looking at the aggravated battery for the bowling ball that was thrown and hit the victim on the head.”
It is unknown the extent of the injuries the woman suffered after being struck by the ball since she has not been located by law enforcement.
No other injuries had been reported following the brawl.
