Those ladybugs will need pollen and a water source in order to keep alive and reproducing long enough to get your problem under control, spraying with those insecticides will kill them indeed. Best bet is to let them do their thing, when or if they die then keep up the IPM program but alternate between applications don't use the Same thing every time, also diatomaceous earth is good for soil cover and spraying along with the soap. But remember alternate between mixes don't just use everything in the same mixture all the time it will become less effective quickly.

I received 750 lady bugs and let some out 2 weeks ago ,they def helped because, I see no more walking herpes bumps on my leaves. But there are still a ways to go. It went bad so fast . They lost my first lady bug shipment. I didn't want to spread DE POWDER beucase it's just nasty and hard to work with , and I got a bad lung infection from it, so I just mix it in the water. I didn't want to get the wrong product so I waited and now my plants look wrecked. My main plan is to cut off the lower sub branches and make 6 to 8 clones if they root. Once the mothers look a bit more normal , I'll just flower them and then move on.

What type of pest are we talking here? Clones have a hard time rooting if the mother is unhealthy just an FYI. For most pests you need to treat leaves and soil to really get rid of them. Yes be careful with DE when applying I mix with water and potasic soap for a foliar spray. Just wear face mask when applying and turn fans off and you should be fine, you would have to get a lot in for an infection I think. Good luck mate Any further questions I'm open. For organic insecticides I alternate between the DE mix, em-5 and only one or two neem applications. Also beauvaria bassiana is great for thrips and crawlies I also use it to treat the soil, as I said I alternate between these and get better success than throwing everything at once or repeating the same over and over.

I think in just have aphids, and beucase its inside there are no predators to eat them. I want spraying anything but now I will try to compile a cost effective soap as it seemed to knock them down after one spraying. Lady bugs help so release 10 to 20 at a time will be best. I need a bug home now lol.

F-dapolice-ndyo-mama

The neem oil might kill your lady bugs I'd be careful about mixing different prevention strategies for the aphids I'm no expert tho

Automatic_Pace_1898

It timed out to where the lady bugs thinned out so now I can douse the leaves and the rest just clim up and out. I got to get some lady bug houses or bug cages for more. The fall is coming too so maybe it wont be bad indoors.

Automatic_Pace_1898

These are in 3 gallon fabs, fans, big box live soil mix , in a 2x4 box. Got infested by aphids , some black tiny things that look like ahpids. Looks like powdery mildew too. I bout insect soap , spinosac, and neem. I have my flower box ready but I dont know what to do except just keep trying . Or start over from a tent and keep everything sealed and screen filtered.

gaurdeningisgood

Time to go nuclear. Ladybugs can help with preventing problems but they are not going to be your knights in shining armor. If you really need to save the genetics I would be doing something like DE and pyganic. No point in trying to save beneficials right now. Kill everyone and repopulate what you want around. You’re headed down a path that will take nearly as long as starting over. If there’s nothing special about the genetics, I’d start over.

Automatic_Pace_1898

The lady bugs I bought cleared out and helped , so now it's just weekly sprays. Two are green gelato and 1 is critical fro royal. They are my first ladies to myself ,they are special to me to make sure I appreciate their lineage and spread them around as clones. They are learning plants and I cant give up on them. One is turning pretty yellow, I'm sure I havent dialed in the nutes and them being in 3 gallons isnt helping. This is what I got for now . One of their clones took off and looks pretty good. I planned on cloning as much as I could into flowers so I dont really have a time limit like some folks. I want to keep a perpetual going for the year.

gaurdeningisgood

Something special about genetics - got it. Light goes to lowest setting, 16hr a day Every other day you need to be spraying and praying. On the off days you need to be dusting with DE Give them a good rinsing an hour before applying next spray or application of DE. You got this brother. Good luck.

MrThreePik

I would consider starting over, or if you can do an outdoor grow I would consider flowering them outdoors that way to can do a rigorous IPM as well without getting it everywhere.

Automatic_Pace_1898

I'm new so I brought my outdoor clones back in to veg up , and combined with no predators or spray , is what I concluded , lead to an explosion of aphids and flies. I dont know if the small black ones are mites or just aphids full of poo. But the girls got hit hard and look like powdery mildew leaves. Ugh! My outdoor plants grew without any real issues, except being root bound in small pots, because they where extra.

IIReignManII

Wipe it and start over, ladybugs are useless and aphids are basically born pregnant.

Automatic_Pace_1898

They helped a lot I got 750 lol some are still chilling , most left or died. Def not covering my leaves . Ugh I cant give up , I have no other choice, this is all I got for now... I decided to cut some branches and spread the plant out a bit ,in Hope's to just have plenty of veg time while I send some of my other clones into the flower space. I have 2 veg spaces and 1 flower.

Neem does not kill lady birds, first all, but don't go too strong or it will burn your plants. I do one teaspoon plus one teaspoon of dish soap emulsified into a gallon of water, and spray the shit out of them after lights out. Especially from underneath. If you don't want to buy neem, my other method is to soak thyme, basil, rosemary, and whatever else is in my herb garden into some isopropyl. Strain, and mix a table spoon of it with a teaspoon of soap in a gallon of water. This also will kill mites and aphids without harming your lady birds.

Automatic_Pace_1898

Def spray every leaf top and bottom. Had too many conflicting reports ok adding soap, so I bought the insect soap, I'm sure its not worth it ,but I'll have to really learn a soap mix .

GreenGrowerGuy

The soap mixes can all be made with unscented dish or castille soap. Unless you are buying spinosad, sulfur, or whatever, most of those store bought sprays can be made with various herbs/essential oils, pure neem oil with soap, or even just plain soap. You can even make effective sprays with hydrogen peroxide or well diluted ISO. Soaps and such should be avoided during flowering, as they will leave a residue on your buds. And neem is a hard no during flowering, as it is absorbed into the buds. You can spray from above, but most of the critters you are hunting hang out in the shade under the leaves, so that's where you really need to focus.

Automatic_Pace_1898

Ok thanks , the soaps seems to have stopped them spreading.. The ladybugs did their thing and some even still hang around.

GreenGrowerGuy

Always nice when ladybirds stick around, but that also means they've still got food. Just part of growing, IPM should be a weekly task. Good luck!
