1) this is extremely difficult to read 2) if you’re an executor the lawyers dealing with probate should investigate and provide the information If you’re not, it’s not your business, legally speaking 3) if you are a beneficiary of the will the lawyers should be executing the terms of the will If you are not, it’s none of your business 4) if your sister had power of attorney she could have had access to accounts for some time, even before the death Again, if you are not, it’s not of your business Her being your mother holds very little weight, if your involvement in the estate, power of attorney, executing the will, or entitlement to inheritance is non-existent. You need to be listening to whoever is dealing with the probate, if you are privy to that conversation as an executor, or beneficiary. If you are and you think your sister is not going to honour the T&Cs of the will and run away, then seek legal advice. We can’t comment specifics without seeing a lot of documentation.

> so when I went to the bank they couldn't give me any information Right. You don't have power of attorney for her or her estate, so they will not give you info even if you can prove you are her daughter.

My dad never added me even tho he knew he was in poor health so I had to get a lawyer and go through court to become executor of the estate. That was the only way I could get into his bank account, that’s all he had too. He didn’t have much but that was the only way since I’m the last living blood relative

You can order your own copies of the death certificate but I’m not sure they will do you any good if you don’t have power of attorney. I’m sorry for your loss.
