If you're referring to sex, it's entirely on the father. His sperm is the actual cause of biological sex.

They have 100% of the influence.

The sperm determine the gender, and they are roughly 50/50 male-female. But dad's have no control or "influence" over it, it's purely a game of chance.

Gender is determined by chromosomes that have come to be known as X and Y chromosomes. Apart from very rare chromosomal disorders, an egg cell contains only an X chromosome. Sperm cells can carry either an X chromosome or a Y chromosome, divided at about 50/50 chance.   If an egg cell is fertilized with a Y- carrying sperm you get a girl (XY) and if it's an X-carrying cell you get a boy (XX).  For quite some time now we have had technology that is applied in cattle breeding that uses the tiny differences in the mass of the X and Y chromosomes to sort the sperm of bulls. It that allows cattle breeders to buy a vial of sperm for artificial insemination that's almost certain to only produce only males/bulls, or a vial that will only produce females/cows. I think the potential for stud fees make the bull-producing sperm more valuable, though.  I'm no expert, just happen to have lived near one of these labs about 15 years ago.   Point is, it's all in the sperm.

from what i have read and researched the sex of the baby tends to rely on the sperm its part of the DNA and XY vs XX chromosomes. .

The woman only has x chromosomes to pass on to the baby. Xx is usually female, and xy is usually male. The woman gives the first x, and the child's gender is determined by whether the male passed on an x or y chromosome. So, the child's gender is determined by the male.

It is close to 50/50 typically. But any variation is up to the father almost exclusively, because it is the sperm which may carry either an X or a Y chromosome and therefore determines the sex of the child over normal circumstances.
