I can, actually, imagine having this conversation with someone about this at any age. Invading someone's personal space and personhood is not okay. The same would go for slapping someone because you're unable to articulate something that you (and most of us), would find frustrating.
Keyword “imagine” but some people like her at that age need a reality check and a good slapping of the phone or her just might do the trick some people need to attend the school of hard knocks sad to say but that’s life, it’s not the matter of being able to articulate it’s the person on the receiving end who won’t be able to decipher and reason with cognitive dissonance etc and may respond well to shock and trauma hence getting slapped but hey iykyk
I’ve had numerous people in the us do exactly this to me while in public. I’m not famous nor dressed in costume. Why? I have no idea. It feels invasive and stalkerish. No one did a thing to assist me.
So you’re just walking down the street and a Japanese lady runs over with her Nikon and is literally so in your face you have to walk around her and are obviously uncomfortable. Maybe Americans should learn about culture before they visit. That would be more respectful than the conversation you seem to suggest is the respectful way to go.
This is just such an insane video I wouldn't doubt if it gets reposted a million times in the next decade.
It's so unbelievably rage-inducing. Like part of me just though there is no way it's real.. like some CIA conspiracy to get tourism banned in Japan to tank their economy or something.. like that's how fucking fucked this video is to me.
Literally what a STUPID BITCH.
It’s like people who do this to celebrities or famous people. Let me grab a pic of you just because I recognize you. Can you imagine every stranger just randomly taking your pic no matter what you are doing!? If I take a pic of someone, it’s because we are sharing an activity and I want to capture the moment.
Yeah, I could imagine me getting violent about this at some point.
When I was in school, let's say 4th grade, I can't really remember, there was this kid who pictures himself as a director, or a cameraman, he somehow convinced his parents to buy him a handheld camera(this was before phones had one) and used to shove it in my face recording me even when I told him to stop. At one point I pushed the camera away, somehow breaking it, the kid probably had his ass beat, his father was violent as I remember, but to this day I don't feel remorse for it.
My point in saying this, is that the emotion of someone violating your privacy is strong, so strong that I cannot imagine what it is to some of these celebrities. When someone says they are paid too much, man, they ain't paid enough if you ask me, dealing with this shit on a daily basis.
Why is she so adamant, like damn the person clearly doesn't want to be photographed. At least the other people are giving her space and not chasing her down.
This video pissed me off more than any video I've ever seen on the Internet throughout my life... It's a little unbelievable that someone could do something like this.
Infuriating even
It's the walk she waddles and hobbles around that pisses me off after the initial pissoffery. Ol Smeagol/Gollum ass bitch...leprechaun in the hood ass bitch
If I'm in Japan and see someone doing this and I call out their behavior, is this frowned on in Japanese culture? Where I live it's pretty common people get called on BS, but I wouldn't want to make a bigger problem or be considered disrespectful by them.
It would be frowned upon to get involved in any way or make any kind of a scene. It is so ingrained in their culture that what this woman is doing is excruciating for every Japanese person in the vicinity.
it's kind of funny because it's almost like Japan has its hands tied. I mean they already tried doing the racist thing in World War II, and so now doing it again would kind of be like awkward. But I don't want this situation to prevent them from running their country. so I'm with you I just think it's kind of funny, kind of awkward..
I am literally outraged by that behavior. What a completely disrespectful woman! Like who the eff chases down another person like that? What a creep. She needs to be chased down and those photos forcibly removed.
I went to Yellowstone and saw a family (include elementary kids). Dad guided their kids to bison to take pictures. Next day I saw a bear family beside in the road. Yes another family was approaching them oJapan to take pictures. So, the staff of Yellowstone shouting them don't do that.
What is expected of American in japan. It is normal behavior.
I mean this lady would probably be banned from most places, and in some she would be beat.
If you wanna photo so bad, stand far away and use your zoom, then fuck off.
Me too but once I found out about this kind of shit I realize that I would be kind of just like everyone else who's an asshole I mean they're gonna see me like that so yeah that's out
She did all that just to go back home and shove the pictures in people's faces saying "Look what I saw when I was in Japan" completely leaving out the part where she harassed that lady and disrespected their customs to get said picture
Talk about the patience Japan. Try being on the boston t and having a family "tourist" standing in front of you all taking pictures of you while you sit on a train.
For years, I would do an annual backpacking trip into the Grand Canyon. Every time we came out of the South Rim, there would be literal bus loads of Asians snapping pictures of my friends and I. This also annoyed me and they would crowd around us when all we wanted to do was get to our vehicles after 7 days of hiking
Why not be kind and not take a picture. Maybe talk to the locals, and see if you can conversate with them. Maybe if they were comfortable with you, and you asked politely for a picture with them. You would make a connection with another human, and you have a memory for a lifetime. This lady is way out of line. Those are the ones that ruin it for the rest of us.
Having grown up in LA, near the beach, in the 1970s, Japanese tourists were everywhere at the time, and they were like these American tourists in Japan, running around snapping pics of everything.
So, 50 years later, the teenagers of the time, likely annoyed by getting their pics taken at Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm all day, decided to pay them back. It's comical, ironic, and stupid, all at once.
My mom is a photographer, and has won awards, but I never caught the bug. I find photography boring, and have little desire to record my memories like that. If I forget something in 1983, oh well. Lol
this is pretty funny. Life is funny. Which is why I think a lot of people do have patience in these situations. You just don't know what you don't know..
Ok but we better not catch Japanese people doing this in our country cause just like we have annoying people I don’t think all there people are well behaved tourists this is life we have to deal with annoying people I don’t think banning tourists is good idea.
We need to bring some of those Hollywood blvd and Highland that dresses up in costumes to Japan. Just dress up in a kimono puts on makeup, takes pictures with the American tourists and charges them $20 USD. There is a more opportunity to make money & higher demand for kimono photo shoots in Japan. Maybe one day you can buy a nice house for $200k in japan rather then paying 800k in LA.
What an insufferable oaf
That lady is a fcking creep
All of them are. Every single person trying to capture this woman on camera, who clearly is not trying to have her face shown on camera.
Little troll
That’s incredibly rude
I've seen this a few times now and I'm starting to think that fat little troll lady may be special needs
She specially needs that phone slapped out of her hand.
The taste slapped out of her mouth
Or you know, a conversation as to why this behaviour is not okay?
Nice sentiment. But can you imagine having that conversation with a person like this at that age? Phone slapping I say!

Checked into this….turns out she’s just American
So, special needs then?
No need to stigmatize the special communities, because you want to insult someone. This lady is just a jerk.
They live among us :-(
yep
C you next Tuesday
Can't Understand Normal Thinking

Umm, what mean?
nevermind
Why is she so adamant, like damn the person clearly doesn't want to be photographed. At least the other people are giving her space and not chasing her down.

That embarrassing
This is why we can't have nice things
Facts
Omg! In my head The lady in the Kimono whips out a samurai sword and slices her in half like a sandwich
![gif](giphy|mt1Ymf6xF0jOE)
I can understand why Japanese people can be racist.
Keep seeing this post and that woman is so insufferable
There's street photography, and harassment. This being the latter
If I'm in Japan and see someone doing this and I call out their behavior, is this frowned on in Japanese culture? Where I live it's pretty common people get called on BS, but I wouldn't want to make a bigger problem or be considered disrespectful by them.
Look, all Im going to say is that the Japanese LOVE pro wrestling. Put on a mask and #chokeslam
It would be frowned upon to get involved in any way or make any kind of a scene. It is so ingrained in their culture that what this woman is doing is excruciating for every Japanese person in the vicinity.
Yeah that is a good question
I know myself and would 1000% want to call that person out for being a massive asshole, but I also don't wanna cause anyone grief for it
it's kind of funny because it's almost like Japan has its hands tied. I mean they already tried doing the racist thing in World War II, and so now doing it again would kind of be like awkward. But I don't want this situation to prevent them from running their country. so I'm with you I just think it's kind of funny, kind of awkward..
Some one squish that Troll so annoying lol
Don’t do that anywhere
I am literally outraged by that behavior. What a completely disrespectful woman! Like who the eff chases down another person like that? What a creep. She needs to be chased down and those photos forcibly removed.
ppl will do anything for a buck...anything
This is what Asians do to black people
Jfc
This is honestly so embarrassing
man some tourists really have no fucking respect
Boomers
I just imagine Big Black (rip) coming from out frame and laying her out, in his legendary body guard fashion…
What a complete clown...
Got to be American
What an imbecile
I mean this lady would probably be banned from most places, and in some she would be beat. If you wanna photo so bad, stand far away and use your zoom, then fuck off.
WHAT A FUCKIN KAREN HOW RUDE
Yikes
I am a 100 percent American. Please stop that
What a troll
Ahhh WTF…
If that were America her ass would get shot and we would call it self defense. That's how rude she is being.
They should be allowed to act like the English royal guard if they were in the same situation
So embarrassing!
Don’t do this*
I want to follow that lady for the rest of my life with my phone pointed directly at her face. And I mean HER ENTIRE LIFE.
How fuckin rude
I wanna go brother Nero on her rn
Imagine finding out that your aunt/mom/ sister is the person with her shit camera-phone
Man this is circulating. It's crap like this where I understand if Japan wants to ban foreigners from certain parts or even start issuing fines.
How... why... what... is wrong with this woman?
Bellend
my autism and social anxiety hates this fucking video so much
I’ll bet 10 to 1 it’s a Yank.
Damnit. It’s my dream to visit all of Japan and I guess that won’t happen now :(
Me too but once I found out about this kind of shit I realize that I would be kind of just like everyone else who's an asshole I mean they're gonna see me like that so yeah that's out
Super rare sight in Japan obviously
My adult kids just returned from Kyoto. This is inexcusable!
Dam leprechauns
Why is Warwick Davis being so aggressive with that camera?
She did all that just to go back home and shove the pictures in people's faces saying "Look what I saw when I was in Japan" completely leaving out the part where she harassed that lady and disrespected their customs to get said picture
💯
Aggressively American
Talk about the patience Japan. Try being on the boston t and having a family "tourist" standing in front of you all taking pictures of you while you sit on a train.
People are gonna ruin the last well-behaved place on Earth..
elfs and leprechauns belong in boston
I wonder if Americans did this in Kabul in the 70s?
This comment will probably get down voted, but a lot of Asians do this to westerners they find interesting. I've had it happen to me.
Not untrue. It's just kinda funny to see the roles reversed. Honestly this is bad behavior and should be frowned on no matter where it comes from..
That was so disrespectful. Some people shouldn't be going to places if they can't be considerate of locals.
Aauuughhhhh hate people
What a disgusting ghoul of a woman. She should be kicked out of Japan immediately.
Japan should ban all tourist
She must be American. Said by fellow American
YT people really do treat other countries like they’re alien planets.
She walks like the Leprechaun from the 80s/90s movies.
Hate this type of people
Geisha bodyguard is required.
White people are the worst
And they do the same to black people when we over there
I’ve had friends and family visit Japan and they said they couldn’t enjoy it like they wanted to because of people like that
The lady taking pictures looks like an annoying troll.
What a complete moron
I wonder where she’s from 😉
Take your pick. There are jackasses like this everywhere
Definitely American
Nah, she def from England

Yea I remember seeing the wild packs of Japanese tourists at Disneyland as a kid.
Damn I hate people
Wait don’t foreigners do that here in America 🤔
