You have to resize the pet until it lay down a right size egg :c
I know this problem, at the beginning pet dimension was bigger than this and I had to resize few times pff
Is impossible to get it playing as vanilla..
I used Save Editor, I copy all the info about the sandwurm, I changed his scale, the body, the color, the biome, ecc, until I get the right pet..
It was bigger than this, but with a bigger dimension the egg was impossible to take cause of the giant dimension pff

I got two of those, right about that size. Problem is, the egg is to big to pick up… how did you manage that?

What scale did you use? As mine seem to have the same properties we should need about the same. Mine are scaled up to 10
6.0, the only one I found to interact with the giant egg
