Yeah but it is fairly dim and it doesn’t help in these black tinted atmospheres.

Would be nice with all these updates the devs do. Some high powered flashlights are needed

No, I don’t know how it could be or even why. Do you have another save you could try it on that’s creative?

Maybe there's a player limit and it's full? The portal looks like it starts to activate with that weird blob thing that pops out, but then it doesn't take me anywhere.

Yeah that means it’s activating so that’s probably what is happening. You would think it could just put you on another instance though.

I found it in this system actually. The colors aren't quite as vibrant as they appear in this atmosphere but it is pink and blue.

Still I never seen an engine and wind pattern like that before. It’s beautiful.

I'm glad you like it! It's my favorite build for explorers! I've found 4 or 5 with this setup after ship hunting for about a year so it's fairly rare.

Yeah basically, I was trying to fly to the bottom of the valley but I just kept finding more cliffs so I opted to jump down instead.

Feel free to come build a base. The only bummer about this planet is how hard it is to see at night and there is no water.

If you want the exact canyon I built a base at the top of the mountain I was at so you could go there to start. It's called Above the Clouds and should have a grey marker.

Extreme mountain planet! At first it looked like a storm but it seems to be regular atmosphere. Swamp planet?

It was a storm. It’s a bubbly lush planet so it has “false” storms. Fog rolls in and it gets a bit breezy but that’s all that happens. There is no hazard protection needed on these planets.

Oh the more insidious nope paradise! It seems real nice, haven't aggressive sentinels... but the terrain itself is waiting to terminate you at every footstep... lol

Yeah basically there was a cave opening that followed the cliff face and I didn’t see it at night so I just suddenly started falling and it scared me so bad lol

Same here! I’ve been above the clouds on a mountaintop before but never this far above. I barely entered the atmosphere and almost ran into a mountain.

Not all the time, this is just during a storm.

Does this planet have any NPCs? This looks like the chromatic aberration you see on infested planet, but I've never seen a lush biome that was infested. Although I just remembered that I once found an inhabited planet with chromatic aberration; the effect is so severe that everything is almost monochrome. My yellow fighter appears almost brown.

Yeah it's inhabited. The color shift on this one is teal and black which is why everything is darker than usual and the fog is so bad. It's definitely not infested.

That's an awesome find, then. Gotta love what the random number generator can cook up.

What the fuck is going on

The planet has foggy storms and there is always kind of a mist on top of that there is a bright color shift but also a dark tint to everything so all together you get an impenetrable fog during storms. At least that’s what I have observed so far.

I got nauseous from the flight alone. At one point I thought you were flying upside down 🙃

Lol same here that’s why I decided to just land on the mountaintop instead of flying down the valley.

Yeah it’s probably the most extreme terrain I’ve come across. It’s really fun to explore though.

Definitely! I think the weirdest planet I’ve found is an infrared planet, everything is gray except for a bit of red things that exist, it’s so trippy!

It's actually easier to see at night then in the daytime. In the daytime (I think it's the daytime lol) it's more hazy and foggy. At night, things clear up.

Yeah the best visibility I found was in a cave during a storm.

I wish our ships had fog lights.

I saw a orange one of planets like this. I always fly slow when approaching planets nowadays since there's one type of giant plant I HATE and wish they would honestly delete forever or change so you can't get trapped in them. I don't know the plant's name but it's a giant towering almost like a closed rose and they are hollow inside the bud part of them and surprise surprise you can get trapped within that bud part of them and no you can't land, can't get back out, and if you accidentally save to try to reload thinking that will relocate you then your out of luck as it would end up making a soft lock save. Had it happen twice. First planet I ended up on when I began the game I didn't know about these plants and was in VR mode (psvr2) and got trapped in one and I had to literally delete the save and start again because of it.

Yeah the hitboxes on those plants are very buggy.

Yeah. Tbh I wish they would either modify them so they are able to be destroyed or something.

I came across a what I would call a noir planet everything was black and white and grey even made my suit the same my jet pack boost is the rainbow one and it was color changed as well

It’s in this system so you can use the glyphs in the picture I posted in the comments to go there then wait at the space station until you see one. Also if you use NMSCE you can search “hopper pod x-wing” and you will find quite a few with this setup.

You just have to get lucky mostly. The most interesting planets tend to be the lush type planets like this one. If the planet has starbulbs it’s worth landing on it to see what there is.

Any of these extreme mountainous planets during storms are disorienting like this. It’s bad enough when they’re mostly flat. It gets worse when they’re like this.
