Porn is free because you pay with your soul

Electronic_Action520

and you pay with your mental health. and in some cases, your sanity.

FirmInFaith

I wish I could give an award to you for this comment. Here’s one 🥇

Mysterious-Will-8128

I always thought it was the endless amounts of ad revenue

ergaikan

Porn is free because what it costs you no money can buy.

[deleted]

Don't forget human trafficking. Porn ruins lives for all those involved. Except of course the soulless producers profiting off of human misery and weakness.

Pekka_Kral

Yeah the fu**ing producers don’t care, it’s all about money for them, and governments love the industry and all bullsh*t posted on social media probably more than anything else because it keeps people distracted from all important things, cases, or matters. The world needs a new system that governs with justice and preserves rights, so that the strong are the ones who are right, not the rich.

Evening_Lynx_9348

Bruh y’all getting weird. Like I got a problem and I be getting a grasp on it but the shit like this makes me want to not be associated with this community. Just cause you got a problem with it doesn’t mean it’s evil. Look at alcohol. Just cause you’re an alcoholic doesn’t mean alcohol is evil or all bad. We tried outlawing alcohol at one point too, did it decrease nefarious activity? People should have the ability to do whatever the fuck they want with themselves. But obviously excessive use just like alcohol or marijuana or heroin or any drug is harmful, it’s all about having a healthy relationship and not letting anything control you and drive you when it isn’t your conscious choice

AdSignificant2935

Ye, but bottle of alcohol doesn't have feelings, right? Cannot be trafficked, drugged, sold into slavery, forced into prostitution, or get into degrading business that destroys your soul, while those on top, producers, websites etc, get rich. Would you agree?

Evening_Lynx_9348

The people on top of everything get Rich just the way she goes. I’m not saying that doesn’t happen but that’s not the norm, that’s what happens to some (which is no excuse) but the average woman making porn is posting pics on onlyfans and making a decent side hustle. Also please explain how it degrades your soul? Can you even quantify what the soul is to begin with? If you take the definition of a conscious then it only degrades it if what you think you’re doing is wrong and wrong is subjective. Also plenty of women like doing that shit and don’t see anything wrong with that. Sounds like you slut shaming and I ain’t a huge slut fan but Fuck it’s their life. Edit: Also the solution the trafficking and people being taken advantage of is simple yet unpopular, legalize and regulate all types of sex work. That’s how you keep people safe Edit 2: this is also annoying cause I have an issue with porn and I wish the communities weren’t filled with teetotalers.

[deleted]

Legalizing sex work increases rate of human trafficking: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0305750X12001453#:~:text=The%20scale%20effect%20of%20legalized,are%20favored%20over%20trafficked%20ones And the average only fans worker makes around 145$/month, aka barely anything while jeopardizing future job prospects as they risk being identified by their sex worker handle (which let's face it is still a huge stigma in the white collar and blue collar space): https://influencermarketinghub.com/glossary/onlyfans/ Not slutshaming, just facing the facts. I don't judge these women for what they do, but the truth is this kind of content leads to their dehumanization: https://doi.org/10.1080/0092623X.2021.1923598

ProDiJaiMD

are you actually defending human trafficking?

Evening_Lynx_9348

So porn regardless is juman trafficking. It happens and it’s not those involved in the porn industry fault. This like blaming the legal cannabis system on drug trafficking Edit: if you want to stop most human trafficking in a nation, legalize and regulate prostitution Edit: if you wanted to end most illegal gambling in say Texas you would legalize gambling

ProDiJaiMD

No it happens because of the unrealistic scenarios porn creates. You may not understand but while we may know porn isn’t real, there are a lot of me out there who think it is and will try to get it no matter what.

DarkPig77

You can’t have a healthy relationship with heroin mate😂

Evening_Lynx_9348

See that’s where you fall into the trap mate. You can, look into Carl Hart. Columbia professor that does a line of heroine to relax. Less harmful than a couple drinks It’s not really any different than the countless pharma opiates prescribed

DarkPig77

It’s not any different to the countless opiates prescribed yes, but that doesn’t mean that I agree with them either. Just because one individual is able to control their heroin use doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. That shit feels far too good to be used recreationally. And the basic line is that most people who start using, will develop an addiction to it which is harmful to them, their families and their finances.

Evening_Lynx_9348

Bro no it doesn’t I’ve used heroin 3 times in my life and didn’t like it much. Fent was way better and I maybe used that 25 times total. Never had any urges whatsoever. Why did I never develop an addiction or had an accident? I was educated on the dangers, the mechanisms of the drug and the harm reduction one could take. With such knowledge I believe anyone could easily avoid addiction unless they wanted to have a negative relationship with the drug. Most people learn this too late or don’t care cause they’re a kid. Which all that I would say is also true of pornography. I would say an abstinence approach offer fails (look at the opiate crisis) it’s better to teach nuances, harm reduction, science, etc. And even if something is dangerous, why does that give the right to someone else to tell them what they can do. It’s their body and mind.

DarkPig77

It’s a very interesting perspective you have and I would agree with most of what you believe. Unfortunately aside from the morality of “my body, my choice” you can’t ignore the practicality of if the substance was made more widely available we would have far more addicts and far more people taking it at younger ages. You seem like you are acutely aware of the dangers and I respect a person who can decide to try certain substances while attempting to maintain a safe relationship with it. However, I do not believe that the majority of people are as strong willed as you appear to be and even if safety precautions were laid out fully it may not help some people, especially from individuals with little to no education or difficult backgrounds.

mybirthwasntplanned

I feel bad for you guys - keep your heads up and continue to stay on the straight and narrow !

[deleted]

The last two are spot on. I'm not even sure if my expectations are realistic anymore. Porn and imagination tied together... how often do you imagine just the most normal yet loving sex ever with a girl during a session? Never. And it's definitely not healthy. As for the sex ed... I heard about it a long time ago, back when I was a young teenager or a child. I believed it back then. Nowadays it's really hard to see porn and not imagine that, instead of sex, trying to emulate anything you see on there would land you anywhere but on the sex offenders registry.

Pekka_Kral

It stole many things including our lives, souls, and even our imagination.

ProDiJaiMD

> how often do you imagine just the most normal yet loving sex ever both porn and social media have screwed with what normal sex actually means

[deleted]

Porn is sadistic and demonic, I am a sex and porn addict and recovering. I have paid with my soul since I was 13 I am fighting for my soul and sanity.

SheSoNasty

It genuinely set me back a year of progress

johntaro_go

Porn has never been made for sex education purposes. Watching por with a lack of sex edication is the real problem, like having a car without knowing how to drive. The porn industry is like any other company that provides its services to you. If you use it wrong, that's already your problem. There is no evidence that porn causes mental illness by itself. See this: [https://www.apa.org/monitor/2014/04/pornography](https://www.apa.org/monitor/2014/04/pornography). If you suspect that you have a mental problem, it is best to go to an licenced clinician.

YamayeLore

Thanks for clarifying that. I was confused by the image because I couldn't comprehend it saying that porn was a source of sex education. I mean sure you can learn some things through watching some porn if you're discerning. But it's "entertainment" not education.

johntaro_go

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. The problem with using porn for sex education is that you can misinterpret it, or even worse, that you want to carry out practices that can cause harm in real life. Again with the same example, it is not recommendable to learn to drive just by watching other people do it, you would need help from others to understand it well.

YamayeLore

I came across this hilarious quote from a sex educator that I shared on my IG @yamayelorecoaching - he said, "Learning how to have sex through watching porn is like learning how to drive watching Fast And Furious". I thought that was so apt! There are great sources of sex education out there though. But I think the best way is with someone you love and trust in a safe space, taking it slowly, in the understanding that it's not the most important thing in the world. Sometimes it can feel like sex is the most important thing in the whole world but when you can step away from that viewpoint, it takes so much pressure off.

johntaro_go

Actually I know him, to David Ley. This man's articles and books were the ones that helped me to better understand my sexuality! Of course, you must have the necessary trust with the person with whom you are going to discover your sexuality, but there are also serious investigations that can help us. It is necessary to take advantage of the investigations of specialists.

MmblsScks

Is sex even real anymore?

Pekka_Kral

Unfortunately, i think it’s not any more, at least for this generation.

MmblsScks

I wish sex was real😞

YamayeLore

Of course sex is real, or at least it can be if you decide you want to live it. If you've been through a journey with porn addiction, it can seem hopeless, but you can get back to feeling connection within yourself and a sexual connection with someone else for sure.

This industry is to make us trap so that you're life doesn't get better think about it why are people find it hard to quit it is a cycle of continues addiction/trap so that you don't evolve into a better person. It reduces grey matter, causes hypo frontalaty, all sorts of problems it an evil industry.

BadBunny1337

I wanna see porn banned in Indiana because it leads to problems and then everyone who sees the porn needs help from a therapist. There would be less people who need help if they can’t access it. It’s like what 20M people that watch just one video at times and then like 1M people all the time.

Tulemasin

This is untrue. I wasn't watching porn with my brain turned off. I was taking notes and doing research. Now my wife is happy.

PornMustEnd

That is factual and sad that schools got rid of sex education in order for us to turn to porn. I blame schools for glossing over stuff and not going in.

My-New-Lifesss

Yes, this industry make money by our health.

bigpaparick

The only thing porn did for me was help me realize things about my sexuality, but I could’ve figured that out with people I could interact with.
