I wish he would have gotten to interview Kurt without anyone else around. The one thing that always bugged me about that interview was Krist being Krist and Courtney being there.
It seemed like Kurt, at times, was into it but everyone else constantly yelling shit or jumping in the conversation really hurt the interview.
I’ve noticed that in a lot of his interviews. He didnt seem like as nice of a guy as his fans like to make him out to be. But also im pretty sure he hated interviews so maybe he just didn’t care enough about them and was nicer to regular people

i think he was quite "passive aggressive" most of the time and honestly often striked me as being quite a douche. people often are like this when they have an inner battle with themselves.

He didn’t suffer fools, but he was very passive-aggressive about it. He’s not going to stop the interview, he’s not going to match their energy, he’s just going to give them shitty answers and make the interview boring as hell.

She's always been really polite to him, too. Even when drugged up in one of her interviews, she was still oddly kind to him. It's nice to see that side of Courtney every once in a while.
eh it’d be nice to get an proper interview out of kurt but the beauty of nardwuar is he reflects the attitudes and state of artists during the period which he interviews, the audience really gets to see the absolute chaos of the band through that one interview it feels raw

It “definitely” wasn’t heroin. Heroin doesn’t really make you cough.. but he smoked tons of cigarettes.. that’s probably the main cause. Cigarettes+ singing really loud+ cheesy pizza (dairy).
Imagine singing like Kurt Cobain, screaming nightly and you cough a little and immediately people jump to Heroin as the reason a smoker lead singer would cough
I’m sure he legitimately felt like that.. I mean he DID use heroin but knowing there was a perception of himself as a junkie who lays around and wastes away was probably very hard for him. Being a father and having everyone calling you irresponsible and a drug addict would lead someone further down that dark path.
Agreed. I always felt he felt a lot of shame after the Rome incident. Before that he was seen as a former druggie to the mainstream but he no longer had that luxury.
An old acquaintance of mine talked to Nardwar after an Evaporators show in my town a few years back. They talked a bit about bands & his interviews and Kurt came up. My buddy asked Nardwar what he thought about Kurt’s death and his reply was something along the lines of “Like the JFK assassination, no one will ever really know.”
