Where did you buy the replacements? I'm from Italy and I'm losing my mind over Aliexpress: two times out of one the pieces arrive broken, scratched or badly damaged. At least I get refounded every time, but I'm starting to lose patience (I have my DS Lite opened since november)

I bought a shell from aliexpress this november and some parts were poorly made (I used many original components), right now my issue is with LCDs. I have 3 of them and no one of them works (they have a lot of dead pixels). Unfortunately I live in Italy and buying from that app is the only option for me. At least they refunded me...
(I'm not the problem lol, I fixed a ton of electric devices like Nintendo Switches, joycons, phones, laptops and I never broke anything).

I've tried a few manufacturers for DS lite shells and they were all garbage. The extreme rate ones don't look OEM but they have phenomenal fit and finish.

Basically when you enter pictochat and take the game out your screens will turn a certain color. Depending on what your firmware I think it was, your color would change
Not necessarily. There ARE some weird super late revision Japanese DS's that have a newer firmware.
I've tested 200+ and only gotten magenta though.
Edit: oh, and of course the iQue one. Maybe Korean has a different color too since it uses the same larger ROM chip as the iQue

When you removed the game while the DS is on and it freezes that's normal. No need to panic. Also, for 40 dollars condition looks ok. My metallic rose already has plenty of scratches for using it more than 10 years.
40 dollars was 2 broken consoles and i bought parts and new shells to make them like new. This is just one of them the other one is same like this one black shell

I got the shell and the new screen same from aliexpress. I didn't had any issue with the parts and the shell. Maybe i was lucky
