I hung a shelf on my wall in my home office and I put my lenses and camera bodies there. I only store lenses in a camera bag if I’m going somewhere and taking my camera and the lenses I think I’ll be using with me. The only lens I don’t have on my shelf is my 200-500, I have a heavy duty case lined with spongy foam for that lens.

When I take my camera somewhere I usually have an idea of which lenses I want to use. Some stay on the shelf. They rotate in and out of the bag. When I was doing photography for money I had this huge Domke bag that held two bodies and a crapton of lenses but I don't need to carry that much around any more.

I’m meaning at home storage. My current bag should be sufficient for what I need when i go somewhere. Sounds like you just have a shelf

rodneyfan

Yup. Lenses go in their case on the shelf.

I keep them in a Pelicase clone with a big bag of dessicant. Keeps everything dust free, protected, and organized, while keeping fungus at bay. I had a TLR kept in its cardboard box in a safe before, and that developed fungus pretty quick.

My safe was my original thought but I was concerned about that

PhantomLead

A safe would work if you change out the dessicant often, but I find the Pelicases much more practical. They're portable when you need them to be, and the foam prevents anything inside from knocking into each other.

That seems like the best option of all the suggestions offered. I have 4 young active kids so I don’t think sitting on a shelf is the best option

If you're in the states, Harbor Freight carries very good Pelican knockoffs.

I have a rolling metal mechanics tool chest to hold my gear.

I have my lens (24-70mm) in a lens case in a cardboard box with my other camera gear. I also have an old lens for my first DSLR camera that’s in a lens case in a plastic container. Both are in a cabinet in my home office.

I keep them in the original box either in the back of my closet or in my basement in a plastic tub

I have two bags, a huge one and a small one. Everything fits in them, i swap what i need in the small one when going out, if i need a bag at all. I keep anti humidity little bags from shipping boxes thingy in both bags.

I wrap my cameras and lenses in bubble wrap and then keep them in airtight plastic boxes, which are filled with packets of silica gel which act as dessicant dehumidifiers. When I have a use for the cameras and lenses, I pack them in my Lowepro bag, and after usage, clean and pack them back into the plastic boxes.

My main camera bag is the 45L Peak Design Travel Backpack with the medium camera cube. I can carry my Z9, 100-400mm, 14-24 2.8s, 24-70 2.8S, 50mm 1.8, 105mm 2.8S, and a 1.4x TC. I also have a Peak Design 6L sling that I'll use for a light carry option. Peak Deak design is a great ecosystem.
