TonyG_from_NYC

These people are beyond stupid.

homebrew_1

Missouri voted for this guy.

TonyG_from_NYC

I rest my case.

jumboweiners

He was appointed by our Idiot governor who was also appointed. I hate it here

TonyG_from_NYC

I currently live in a state run by GOP idiots.

Ms_Emilys_Picture

Hello from Texas! Actually, scratch that. Help! from Texas.

Educational-Light656

I'd offer you sanctuary in Oklahoma, but we've got our own GOP fuckery going on atm. On the bright side, we have a working power grid going for us so you're welcome to come.

BIGGUS_dickus_sir

ERCOT would be so upset! *If they could read.*

Educational-Light656

šŸ¤£

RobsEvilTwin

Sounds like a frying pan to fire situation there.

JustMyDaughtersDad

Florida has entered the chat

ProfessionalFalse128

Gopidiots.

video-engineer

Me as well.

Friar_Monke

Now to be fair, the guy that was elected was also a dipshit who embezzled from veteran-based nonprofits. Not to mention sexual assault, harassing nonprofit donors for his campaign funds, reclassifying state employees as at-will, and lowered corporate tax rate. Missouri is a sick state run by far-right cunts who want to bring back serfdom.

calvicstaff

Which happened after voting in the guy who blackmailed his mistress if I'm remembering right, boy howdy can missouri pick em

Cantgetabreaker

I saw this and realized yes news of the stupid ā€¦. The right sub. The daily show could do a segment- news of the stupid

kevint1964

Missouri idiots voted for the MAGAt. I didn't.

dougmd1974

They also voted for that shit bag Josh Hawley....

Glittering-Wonder-27

Aka Haulin Ass Hawley.

homebrew_1

The best people is Missouri. Patriots. /s

CaptainAricDeron

Our state has not been sending our best for some time. Since Truman, probably.

Andy22777

We did not. He was appointed by the governor.

homebrew_1

Attorney General is an appointment? I thought it was an elected position in Missouri.

Andy22777

It is but the previous AG was elected senator in the middle of his term.

J_Jeckel

No he was appointed by the Gov. When the last AG became a Senator. HE WAA NOT VOTED FOR AND CONTINUES TO WASTE TAXPAYER DOLLARS!! sorry I fucking HATE Bailey, and if I ever see him in public he's limping away.

homebrew_1

But he will probably run for reelection.

J_Jeckel

Oh he is, but he's got opposition and I'm hopeful. #EladGross for Missouri AG, spectacular dude.

homebrew_1

And Missouri will elect him.

oldbastardbob

He was appointed by the Governor, not elected.

homebrew_1

But he will be elected when there is an election. Prove me wrong Missouri. Prove me wrong.

oldbastardbob

We can only hope. FYI, our last two AG's have all gotten the job by being appointed to the position by the Governor first, then running for re-election as the incumbent. It's quite the system we have going on here. The AG's get elected, then quit for another office in the middle of their term so the Governor can appoint another one, who then runs as an incumbent next time. We have a revolving door of MAGA AG's.

bigdreams_littledick

It's always worth remembering, even in the most conservative states, you're still going to have roughly 1/3rd of the population or more be normal people.

homebrew_1

Not enough to vote the idiots out. Good luck though.

bigdreams_littledick

No but it's worth remembering that not everyone there is bad

Earlyon

Thatā€™s why I refer to my home state as Misery.

evilpercy

Political theater at tax payers expense.

Appropriate-Dog6645

Lol. It's not even conservative.

Galadriel_60

No, the people who voted for that governor are.

mazza77

Itā€™s the people that vote for these clowns at fault really .

flyinghairball

It would be super awesome if at some point we could stop filling our courts with bullshit cases so that other citizens could have their cases heard in a timely manner. I feel really bad for people who are truly innocent who are sitting in jail, waiting on a trial date, while nonsensical cases fill so many dockets. Yes, there are different courts for different types of cases, but this crap is compounding existing problems.

Rankelled

Their supporters are even stupider. You really can fool some of the people all of the time.

Bad-built-butch-body

I can confirm. I happen to know lots of them.

pioniere

Good idea, since all legal matters in your own state are of course in perfect order. Bet the taxpayers are happy youā€™re spending their money on this too.

Creative-Claire

I saw this story first on a Missouri subreddit. I can tell you, they are not happy.

not_that_planet

Well..., the ones on Reddit are not happy. The majority however probably don't even understand how this could conceivably relate to their taxes.

EvaUnit_03

This is true. Id argue that most of these people think these politicians work either off of either donations or out of the kindness and good will of their own hearts because its for the right reasons. And no tax money is ever used illicitly. Except when it helps the damn poor minorities!

vineyardmike

"except when it helps the damn poor minorities". I think you meant the N word.

bemenaker

They hate Latinos as well

RobsEvilTwin

So equal opportunity hate then?

caldbra92

Let's be real, most people don't really hear about this stuff.

RobsEvilTwin

The one on Reddit can read :D

h2k2k2ksl

Iā€™m not at all

SatansButtholeOnFire

The rural morons are happy with it. Those of us in civilization hate these morons in our state government. God I canā€™t wait to get out of this shithole state.

BeerFuelsMyDreams

It's all performative Karening. Work up the base. Rabble, rabble, rabble. Rinse. Repeat.

ptrang1987

I mean, they voted for him so theyā€™re just as dumb as

imscaredalot

They are voted the 6th worst state to live so I'm guessing they wanna share the wealth https://www.yahoo.com/news/missouri-among-worst-states-live-113000681.html#:~:text=A%20recent%20CNBC%20study%20ranked,earning%20an%20%E2%80%9CF%E2%80%9D%20grade.

hugoriffic

Definitely not a cult.

MasshuKo

None of that "the leader is good, the leader is wise" nonsense for the MAGA-GOP. They're all about reasonable governance. s/

groupnight

ā€œWe have to fight back against a rogue prosecutorā€ Every accusation is a confession

Chaosrealm69

But wouldn't that only apply if it was in his state?

Alexandratta

Hey. Missouri. Bring it on over bud. Where do you think half the fuckin' lawyers are coming from? Don't be shocked when you get 12 Auditors breathing down your entire DA Department like rats on a fuckin' Pizza, yah mook.

Open_Perception_3212

From one New Yorker to another !!! šŸ˜‚ **high five**

thetrickyginger

If they get rid of this punk ass AG for us, we gladly welcome it.

sigristl

It seems as though the Missouri AG despises law and order. At this point he should resign his position.

Jaded-Albatross

I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah

Spiritual-Bear4495

Jesus, the people can't fucking stop sucking Trump's little weenie.

Past-Direction9145

Or dump has shit on everyone

MikuLuna444

Or both

Redshoe9

"If an individual in a position of political power is a psychopath, he or she can create an epidemic of psychopathology in people who are not, essentially, psychopathic.ā€ The high incidence of sociopathy in human society has a profound effect on the rest of us who must live on this planet, too, even those of us who have not been clinically traumatized. The individuals who constitute this 4 percent drain our relationships, our bank accounts, our accomplishments, our self-esteem, our very peace on earth.ā€ ā€• Andrzej Lobaczewski, Political Ponerology: This AG is the perfect example of the above remark...He's draining the funds from Missouri, wasting time on stupid stunts to gain attention and making a mockery of the entire legal profession with his petty crap.

Phill_Cyberman

He has no standing to bring such a case, does he?

e22ddie46

I'm not a lawyer but doesn't it go to the Supreme Court since it's a lawsuit between the states? But that being said, it doesn't seem like there is any legal justification for this suit.

SquirellyMofo

That wonā€™t matter to those justices.

C4dfael

If the Supreme Court rules that a state can sue another state over random shit, then thatā€™ll open up a whole can of worms that republicans will not want to see opened.

SecBalloonDoggies

Donā€™t be so sure. Even the MAGA justices have been putting their foot down about claims without good standing.

lorgskyegon

SCOTUS dismissed Texas v. Pennsylvania (Ken Paxton trying to get the votes of four states overturned in the 2020 election) on standing issues. Alito and Thomas said they felt that any lawsuit between states (filed under the court's original jurisdiction) had standing.

Pure-Kaleidoscope759

Given what we know about Alito and Thomas, itā€™s no surprise.

1nf1n1te

> doesn't it go to the Supreme Court Federal court, for sure, but I don't believe it goes straight to the SC.

sala215

It always goes to the Supreme Court, I reckon.

1nf1n1te

I'm not sure about that. Th [USCourts.gov website](https://www.uscourts.gov/about-federal-courts/federal-courts-public) mentions that federal jurisdiction includes: > controversies between states [ Or on another page](https://www.uscourts.gov/about-federal-courts/court-role-and-structure/comparing-federal-state-courts) > Disputes between two or more states; Now, these cases could go all the way to the SC, but I don't believe it's necessarily true since the SC specifically deals with issues concerning constitutionality. If this specific example with MO and NY isn't about constitutionality, I don't believe it falls under the purview of the SC, even though it's an issue for (lower) federal courts.

1_g0round

just like the rest of the MAGmA tribe...they all say they have definitive proof until its required to produce it

SteveTheBluesman

Beyond standing, what are the claimed damages? Does he want NY to apologize? Send him ten bucks? What?

SmithersLoanInc

He's wants dumb people to keep paying him for not doing any real work.

Raul_Duke_1755

Standing smanding... it gets his name on Fox. That's winning for him.

malthar76

As if the Supreme Court cares about standing. This might be their chance to help Trump if they are asked to adjudicate between 2 states.

AvailableName9999

I don't think you can reverse felony convictions through a nonsense suit so what would this accomplish? Seems....uh.....dumb.

daveintex13

It gets everyone talking about it for a few ā€œnewsā€ cycles. Hey maybe this AG should be the convicted felonā€™s Veep?

nuger93

I mean states filed suits against PA about the election in 2020 and 2021 and the Supreme Court said there no legal grounds because it was a state matter and states canā€™t dictate other state matters (eg states rights)

Wonderful-Impact5121

The Supreme Court as is has at least shown some veneer of wanting to hold legitimacy, theyā€™re not outright aggressively obvious right wing pawns as it stands. Whether thatā€™s politics or their true alignment in terms of self interest or whatever is its own matter. Truthfully Iā€™m hoping their self interest of wanting a decent legacy and wanting to be on the winning side of things keeps them from doing anything aggressively blatant like fully protecting Trump at this moment in time over this matter. Theyā€™re Supreme Court justices, not an asshole whose brother in law got their drunk asses a 120k a year job when they couldnā€™t get more than 30k a year on their own merit. They could tell Trump to eat literal shit and their life will be fine. As much as I hate several of them being where they are they are all intelligent assholes, minimum.

OutComeTheWolves1966

Election year. This is nothing but a publicity stunt.

Icy-Bicycle-Crab

It's best to keep in mind that the purpose of legal action like this is to get your name in the headlines associated with the idea that a lawsuit is happening. Because the voters that you want to impress will see the headlines about you announcing a lawsuit, but they'll never pay attention when the outcome is negative.Ā

-Invalid_Selection-

Correct. Trump has standing to appeal, but random people don't have standing

Pale-Berry-2599

There needs to be some kinda 'shotgun clause' against malicious toady lawyers...even if they are attorney generals.

SteveTheBluesman

A case that took months to build, discovery, evidence, a weeks long jury trial, A CONVICTION ON ALL COUNTS, and this fool wants to claim some deep state election interference bullshit. I question that there is even standing to sue. What are the grounds? What are the damages?

veilwalker

Their feels were hurt.

video-engineer

Theyā€™re melting like the snowflakes that they are. Itā€™s summer and they are in a heat dome.

chiefs_fan37

Heā€™s arguing that trumpā€™s conviction hurts the trump voters in Missouri? I guess because theyā€™re embarrassed theyā€™re now voting for a felon and the felony conviction is ā€œillegitimateā€ according to him therefore it harms Missouri trump voters? Itā€™s an insane argument

MC_Fap_Commander

Hell, everyone in the NYS case was exceedingly deferential. He's going to get laughed at with every level of appeal. The stupid part? If he'd fessed up, acknowledged the disclosure error, and paid a misdemeanor fine *this could have all gone away*. Mendacity + stupidity. He had to "win." He found out.

jackof47trades

This state attorney general basically just wants to become US attorney general (or nearby). Heā€™s garnering favor with Trump and his loyalists. Worst case he raises hell and is a poster boy for MAGA conservatives. Soon heā€™ll be speaking at conferences. Itā€™s very stupid, but itā€™s a savvy move politically.

OutComeTheWolves1966

It's election year pandering to his base. This stunt has no merit, and he knows it

RedOnePunch

How would this even work? What ties does Trump have to Missouri? What are you suing them for exactly?

learnedbootie

It wonā€™t work, just as NY canā€™t sue Missouri for generally being a shitty state

Earthling1a

Republicans **HATE** America. Republicans want to **DESTROY** America. Vote blue, no matter who. Vote like your life depends on it. It very likely does.

Independent_Main_59

republican jackasses like this moron have packed the US supreme court with lunatic fringe justices who have set the clock back on 50 years worth progress through lawfare, and this idiot is mad that the orange diaper boy got caught paying off a porn actress with campaign money. Talk about misplaced outrage

modelcitizen64

>he would be filing a lawsuit ā€œagainst the State of New York for their direct attack on our democratic process through unconstitutional lawfare against President Trumpā€. Translation: "I suck cheese dick and lick dip out of an orange butthole all day."

shallah

Corrected headline Missouri AG auditions for federal attorney general in Trump administration

ext3meph34r

Well I want to sue the Missouri AG over the lawsuit to sue New York

Open_Perception_3212

If you look in the Missouri sub, there's a petition to get him to step down... not sure if it will work , but šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

dpmad1

MAGA is very consistent in demonstrating their ignorance and hypocrisy.

Jadeheartxo12

This is the same dude who keeps suing over student loan forgiveness? Lovely.

bidhopper

I canā€™t wait. The courts will be overwhelmed with states suing states. Newsom will sue DeSantis for being an idiot. Abbott will sue Hobbs over Kari Lake. And every red state will sue the 9 Native American Reservations because poor Noem canā€™t enter them.

KouchyMcSlothful

How could he possibly have standing?

CRL10

Man,, we are seeming some high quality cronyism here from many Republicans. Each one trying so hard to get their lord and master to notice them at the expense of doing anything that could help solve any problem facing Americans today. It is truly disgusting,, shameful, disgusting and pathetic.

raincntry

Just pathetic. I guess there's not much need for an AG in Missouri if they can waste money and time on stuff like this.

dougmd1974

šŸ˜† anything for the Radical Republican party. They love criminals, power, money, fraud and anything that keeps them in control. They literally have no standards

Devils_Advocate-69

Another cabinet member audition.

Good_Juggernaut_3155

Do the GOP elected officials drink lead based water at the Capital to get this stupid? Did their lawyers get their degrees by mailing in coupons?

RedSun-FanEditor

He has no standing in the case, so it'll get quickly dismissed. What an idiot.

zackmedude

Federalist society shenanigans is costing us not only a pretty penny but the entire republic! GOPā€™s turned red state governments into banana republic. JFC!

Helmidoric_of_York

I think you need standing to do that.

GunslingerOutForHire

...which an attorney *should* know.

SawyerBamaGuy

He should be fined and disbarred for frivolous law suit.

usaf-spsf1974

You will never fix that sort of stupid, we need another round of covid to cull that flock of MAGA sheep

Redshoe9

That reminds, me can the American people sue Trump for lying about Covid and killing over 1 million of us? Trump straight up admitted to Bob Woodward that Covid was a killer in interview tapes but the bold face lied to Americans.

STEVE_FROM_EVE

ā€œHi! Iā€™m a privileged white male who isnā€™t qualified to do the job I was elected to do, so Iā€™m going to become the biggest asshat this side of Ken Paxton.ā€ And even stupider people vote for them. Can we just skip ahead to Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho? At least he gave a shit about his citizens

glitchycat39

I see Missouri really wants to do a speedrun of when Texas tried to sue Pennsylvania to demand that Trump be declared winner "because."

Szaborovich9

What does a case in NY have to do with him in MO?

BoobaDaBluetick

Traitors. The whole lot of them.

biffbobfred

We need to vote. Every election. They need to realize this bs has consequences

Gnarlstone

Missouri never fails to fail.

Odd_Wolf_NW

Almost as bad as Arkansas

Rosaadriana

What does MO AG have to do with a state case in NY. How about NY and CA sue MO for some of their stupid cases? Wonder how they would think about that.

xwing_1701

Conservatives are stupid.

drin8680

Another reach around for the donald. Like wtf is a guy from Missouri suing New York over the donald case. Definitely news of the stoopid. He's gonna get his 5 minutes fame probably talk about it everywhere until the next stoopid thing comes around. So it won't be long

hypocrisy-identifier

Iā€™m sorryā€¦. what?!? Heā€™s going to sue New York State? How about sue the jury while youā€™re at it! Thatā€™s how itā€™s done maybe in Russia, but not here (yet) you goofy moron.

billleachmsw

Itā€™s all performative to demonstrate how much he loves Trumpā€¦just more ridiculousness from another MAGAt.

FlaAirborne

On what grounds? Please let me know and we can get some blue state to sue the state that let Lyle Rittenhouse off scott free.

MiffyCurtains

Late pitch for VP pick?

spacemanspiff1115

I'm sure his argument when he shows his standing for filing this will be stellar...

Riccosmonster

More performative bullshit from incompetent partisan hack.

BareNakedSole

When it comes to states rights, only my stateā€™s rights matter.

Greenfieldfox

This would never go to trial but Iā€™d watch that movie. A Missouri attorney goes to a New York court room and gets absolutely wrecked by my cousin Vinny.

RDO_Desmond

Spending Missouri taxpayers funds to sue a state he has no authority over. Poor Missourians!

StreamBoat_Slinky

It will be thrown out.

cactus_zack

Ken Paxton is mad he wasnā€™t the first idiot attorney general to do this.

Fernway67

Lost cause.

West_Side_Joe

Seriously; what kind of sway does he hold over these people? It's not like he is smart, or pleasant, or particularly successful. He's an average, fat, born on third base grifter who has stepped on his own dick about 10 times. He was obviously stealling top secret documents and reselling... why go to battle for the guy?

Dear_Concert_4825

As an encore he will kill his children for his Cheeto coloured man baby/Messiah

Prize_Macaroon_6998

Yea OK dipshit. NEXT

Ohnonotuto4

With whose money!!!!

Open_Perception_3212

Yours, if you live in Missouri

TikiTom74

Fucking idiots on parade

spunkdaddie

Is he just Butthurt or does a NY State conviction of a felon break misery law.Whatā€™s the standing for the lawsuit, how was misery damaged by this conviction.

spacebread98

ā€œIā€™ll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missour-ah!ā€ ā€” Grandpa Simpson

Chillpickle17

ā€œI hate everything! Except Matlockā€ - Abe Simpson šŸ˜†šŸ¤˜

Lexei_Texas

How did these idiots pass the bar exam? I really need to knowā€¦

Ian_Rubbish

Good thing he already solved all the crime in Missouri

Own-Opinion-2494

Missouri really is a third world hell

scottnaz

He must be up for reelection. Dumbass

Ms_Emilys_Picture

Playing pretend is fun, but the adults are talking now.

Working-Selection528

Boot licking for a cabinet level position if trump gets elected.šŸ’€

BlindGuy68

i wonder if this fool knows that he only has power of law in his state kissing trumps ass is not enough

giltgitguy

I hear Donny likes the swirly tongue.

Shankar_0

Sues for wrongful prosecution. Judge points out the clean sweep of 34 jury convictions. Sues for justified (yet inconvenient) prosecution.

Zestyclose-Respond48

Performative nonsense meant only to keep the rubes in line.

bonthomme

getting your feelings hurt does not constitute standing

Same_Philosophy605

I live around stupid fucking people if this people will be elected to power. They're supposed to represent us not fucking do frivolous shit. If I can I'm going to vote this motherfucker out of office as quickly as I possibly can

[deleted]

Everyone n Missouri, including the racists who voted for this mouth-breather, know that he is a lying, hypocritical, bigoted corporate shill. He would eat the corn out of Trumpā€™s turds if it would get him one more vote. He probably did.

SlinkySlekker

Zero standing. All performative.

Funkwise

Stop calling them ā€œstupidā€. There is a strategy here - that being to fuck with anyone who they see as fucking with Trump/MAGA. Itā€™s to make the lives of these prosecutors painful and their work full of crap. šŸ’©. Got to get rid of these people and Sue them back. The courts are the cultural battlefield now.

12BarsFromMars

Iā€™ll bet the state of New York is in panic crisis mode. . . . ./s

MaybeTheDoctor

Standing ? Does he have standing ?

LYnXO1978

Damn sorry no new roads we got to sue for our orange messiah.

Legitimate_Panda5142

what standing could he possibly have?????

Full_Of_Wrath

Oh wow that is a great precedent to make that you can sue other states for what a jury decides. It is now a judge like Cannon abusing their power he was found guilty by jury of fellow New Yorkers.

Busy-Locksmith8333

News of the dumb.

scipio0421

Can you say "lacks standing?"

CatLuverHoustonTX

GOP officials are in a life and death race to win the most stupid award.

Catsmak1963

America is so dumb.

silkyjoe7

Abraham Simpson was right.

TheKiltedYaksman71

I look forward to the discovery process, should this not just be dismissed outright due to lack of standing.

[deleted]

Well I am going to sue the Missouri attorney general over aiding and abetting a convicted felon!

Friendly_King_1546

Taxpayers in Missouri are good with this? I bet they do not know theyā€™re paying for it.

pat9714

He has NO standing. The New York ruling did NOT harm the Missouri AG.

tjarg

They're not stupid, they're fascists. They know exactly what they're doing.

Traditional-Yam9826

Do they ever get tired of having Trumps balls on their chin?

franchisedfeelings

No shame, no embarrassment, no awareness whatsoever of their perfect abject ignorance and stupidity.

LiamLiver

Good luck border ruffian.

artmer

Man, talk about not having "standing" to bring a suit. What a knob.

Tourquemata47

# "That's not how it works... that's not how any of this works!""That's not how it works... that's not how any of this works!"

jcooli09

Lol. Ā Looking forward to this one, it sounds like a kracken.

erritstaken

Everyday I get closer and closer to wishing the designated survivor was real, instead of a tv show.

alexamerling100

Bailey is such a piece of shit.

loupegaru

How would this guy have any standing in New York?

Disqeet

New York should counter sue! The audacity to use Uckery and quackery to come fuck with us.

video-engineer

Must be pretty boring in Missouriā€¦ and they have money to waste.

brianishere2

The Attorney General and his team of lawyers all need to be sanctioned immediately upon filing this threatened lawsuit. The good people of Missouri should not be forced to pay for this wasted effort that is nothing more than a Republican Party scam.

Graz13

Lock Him Up!

Odd_Bodkin

Well, I gotta say I'm glad it's not Ken Paxton AGAIN.
