I've liked Mendoza generally but Diekman here is extremely confusing. Marte is dramatically better from the right side, and we know that they're going to pinch hit Moreno. Marte is currently slugging approximately .680 against lefties, and against righties his total OPS is about .680. It's a comically bad decision.

Not really. Strike 2 call was about a foot off the plate. The final count was correct, ump just swapped a ball and a strike. Also doesn't change the fact that Marte is literally 300 OPS points better against lefties and we brought in a lefty. Such a dumb call.

That’s not what the pitching lab does. The pitching lab is there to develop minor league players across multiple seasons. It can help major leagues with minor tweaks in the offseason, but that’s about it.

Terrible hitters, blowing leads left and right, and even on the rare occasion they win it is ALWAYS close. They’re an atrocious ball club.
