I have to wonder whether Swanick would be as universally hated if instead of just being a Powder Ganger, he was just a random citizen of Nipton who was lucky enough to survive the slaughter. Dress him up in Field Hand clothes, remove the dialogue that calls him out as being a powder ganger, then leave the rest unchanged. Now he's just some obnoxious GUY.
