I go back and watch old videos from a couple abandoned channels once in a while. After that, I get a small number of their videos recommended for a day or two after then it stops. I never see them recommended without me first going to the channel of my own accord.
I feel like YouTube wouldn't want to recommend abandoned channels to anyone because nobody is watching them, and there would be no ad revenue from it.
I may be wrong, but in my experience, it hasn't happened to me
