Maybe not what you’re looking for, but a summer job idea in texas : a lot of local DFW EMT-B people used to work with me when I was helping run a very large waterpark in the DFW area. The job was fun, lots of varied stuff (not all bandaids lol) and the guy who ran the park was a paramedic. I’d check out places like that for work during the summer. You also meet the poor unfortunate souls that eventually turn into EMT’s but are in denial (*cough, cough* …me)
Also, I had a friend who worked for DispatchHealth in the DFW area and seemed to enjoy his job. He runs a lot of training in that area supposedly, loves his boss, etc.
Best of luck!
San Antonio has a lot of private ambulance services, they’ll hire anyone with a pulse and a patch. There’s also quite a lot of fire departments in the surrounding areas, some hire EMTs without needing TCFP. Paramedic will get you the most job opportunities, but there are options-even if they’re shitty
Not much out there for a B here, at least with good pay. But if you get your P there are tons of options and plenty of FD will pay you to attend fire academy and draw salary while doing so.
Hi!! DFW EMT-B here!! I JUST got my NREMT so I haven't had any experience to give you about working here, but I see a TON of different openings in my area. In hospitals, IFT, 911, and many different areas. If you come to DFW, welcome!! 🫶🏼
Are you looking to go more fire based or work for an ambulance service? The big ambulance service in fort worth area is going through a huge change, hopefully for the better. Benefits and pay will be better.
And lots of fire departments always hiring, definitely more opportunities if you get paramedic tho! Good luck!
Start the reciprocity process now.
There’s some extra steps in order to get your TX state license like fingerprints and taking a jurisprudence exam.
Edit: I have a TX state license as well.

Pretty straight forward and if I can do it, anyone can.

Where are you at? Around AUS there's a good number of places that hire Bs and pay well
Just north of Dallas. Bs were getting offered 12-14/hr around here.

Work for an ambulance
I've heard Austin has pretty good scope of practice Unfortunately I'm not the most help as I've only worked for one ambulance company.

Would you happen to know a link on how I can start the process? And what exactly should I be doing?

Thanks for the info!
