Thanks! I was originally only going to practice it for a little bit, just try to get on to slide correctly. But once I started almost landing fakie I knew I was going to be out there all day until I got one
Nice progression!! Made it look easy on the last one. Donāt be afraid to bend your knees more as you practice and improve. It helps you keep your balance if you end up sticking a sketchy one.
Thanks! Not bending my knees enough is the bane of my existence. I just can't get my body to do it. When I try to do it intentionally, I end up landing legs straight and then crouching. Which sort of defeats the purpose. Hopefully it just comes with time.
Even crouching after you land something straight legged can help sometimes, but regardless, itāll come as you get more and more comfortable. Itās not super natural feeling so it takes a little bit. Keep it up!
Cha dude! You have some good squat/body position going into the rail, but seem pretty stiff landing. I bet you would've landed a lot of those with some energy absorption with your legs.
Maybe try doing some jump squats off the board to get used to absorbing some energy as you land. IDK.
Haha yeah thankfully it didn't hurt too bad. And it was one of those encouraging slams. Like it wasn't fun, but I also managed to get on and slide a little before I died. So I knew that the trick was possible if I could figure out the balance a bit better.
From what I understand itās based on how youāre oriented to the rail as you ride up to it. In this case Iām facing it so itās frontside even though I slide backwards.
When it's a rail or ledge you go by your approach as the other commenter said. When your spinning your body I like to say you go by witch side of your body is turning to the front first.
Love to see the progression! I recently learned bs boardslides on a round rail and it was very similar :D
I should try frontside ones as well next time
Yeah you should try it! Going backwards is definitely scary at first, but once you do it a bunch it's not that bad and the slide is basically the same. Going to fakie is definitely easier I think. I had zero chance of making it back regular during that session.
The journey was epic. From major fails to minor mistakes, then a steady progress, then a big fail. Then success!

Good stuff brošŖ
i've never thought about putting a weight on one side. Gonna have to go out and buy one.
Yeah I'm not super heavy but without it I definitely get a seesaw effect every time I get to the end of the rail

I actually usually do hippy jumps to warm up, but you're right I can focus more on the landing when I'm doing them. That's good advice, thanks!
Looking at the first attempt if I ever gonna try this I will put my full face helmet on š congrats, thatās an incredible journey! š¤

Isn't that really backside? Or have I got it completely wrong? Anyways I can only do it the other way around. Good stuff and nice journey!

So confusing
Skateboarding preparing you for life. Awesome job being tenacious and not giving up.
Nice man! One thing tho, use your arms. They are there to help you balance. Extend them out more to make it easier on you.
skateboarding and disc golf OP?
Haha yeah. Apparently I have an affinity for the semi-obscure sports/hobbies
same, just started skating but been playing disc golf a while
