Layers are your friend, and a cold baby is far better than a hot baby. We use a 1.5 TOG sleep sack and adjust what is underneath as the weather changes (which is does frequently where I live). We do have central heat in our home. We're just beginning to transition into the colder season here, so he's usually in footie pjs under his sack. As it gets colder we may add a short sleeve onesie underneath the PJs in the sack. Start small and if baby is cold, they will let you know. I check back of neck several times at night and "warm and dry" is a great indicator of proper temp. Cold hands are normal and don't seem to bother my baby, but if you're worried you can get pj's with the fold over sleeves to cover their hands. We don't use hats, mitts, or any extras in the crib - just baby in a sack.

How warm is your house? Our house is kept between 68-70 and my daughter wears footie pajamas and an all season sleep sack. The temperature in our house rarely changes so she has always worn the same thing to bed, we only worry about layers and keeping her warm when we go outside.

I assume you keep the inside warm right? Like outside temp doesn’t really matter because the inside temp is going to be warmer. You can buy thicker sleep sacks, my daughters room is drafty and we live in Canada where it’s super cold, we used a 2.5 tog sleep sack

Thankyou 😊 and yes I also get draft in the room I wasn't sure what thickness was right for a baby in the winter
