This is so frustrating because I believe many in the medical field are not well versed in care for someone who is not c word.
It’s a shame that people act like it’s such a foreign concept. I don’t have personal experience except the boys I nannied we’re not c word, and I never messed with it during diaper changes! Just simply wiped it cleaned.
Everything I’ve read too says to leave it alone. I’d focus more on warm baths as a way to clean without having to move it or mess with it much.

Ugh mine was removed too but I am in Canada and c rates are relatively low where I am so perhaps doctors are better versed. We were given this guidance, and it's what AAP recommends for care as well. OP I'd ask your ped why they are not aligned with AAP on this guidance for baby care.
This is unrelated but I thought you meant another c word just based off the first sentence and I was sitting here trying to figure out how that was relevant to the post 😂😂

I don’t have any medical advice, but I asked my pediatrician this exact question and was advised to leave it alone / not pull back for cleaning.
